any one used the services of Keith Bennion? Looking for a luthier to do some fret work, and possibly some extra work like shielding.

Or if anyone can recommend a good luthier in the Liverpool area.
the more I play my corvette, the more I like it. It's such a nice looking and sounding instrument, I need to put the neck right before I can post sound clips.
Keith is in the recommended luthiers sticky here:- http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?s=&sho...post&p=1780

So you're saying not one headband, but loads of them to keep your hair out of the tuning pegs - Very metal

Great sound there - thought the lead vocal was good on both the SD tracks - as you say, sounds like you had a ball!

Don't waste your time with home made ideas, unless you are very very well versed in cabinet design. Bill has done all the work for you. Choose the plan, buy it for a couple of bucks, and build it yourself

Ok, it didn't say anywhere that it was just a tab book - I was hoping that it was a sort of history of funk with a few tabs in it
Most of those are reasonably simple - but the thing is, as with all these books you can never tell how accurate the tabs are without personal recommendations.

I saw this on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Funk-Bass-Bible-Re...2366&sr=8-3
.....but there's no review. Has anyone read it and can recommend it? I'm looking for some accurate tabs of funk / soul / motown if you want to suggest some other books

You misunderstand, but I understand. I was implying the recording could of been improved by employing the services of Derek William Dick.

TTBOMK the only difference is a delux has a quilted top - everything else is the same. As for weight, I don't know, reasonably light weight body. I 've got a 55/01 but never put it on the scale.
As for a view on the guitar - fabulous bass, very versatile, very well made with a fantastic low B.
getting the velcro to stick to rubber on the pedal can be a bit of a bummer.
I managed to find some 4" velcro on ebay in the US which i used to cover my pedal board - i think i got more than enough for about 18 quid shipped. It came off the hexboard eventually as it wasn't as sticky as it possibly could have been, so i got some spray carpet glue and it has done the job admirably.
Search for "lyt velcro" for the US auction on ebay.com
+1 - plain backed velcro and spray carpet glue is the way to go.
