I dont know the current price of the JB-2's sorry. Probably best calling your local G&L dealer for details. I tried for a sunburst/maple one a little while back and they were out of stock http://www.fcnmusic.co.uk/wheretobuy.asp

The Tributes are very good. I had a Korean natural ash L2000 and it played brilliantly. my only personal niggles are the tuners could be a little better (though they're fine) and I dont like the way the back of the neck resolves into the heel area or the headstock. it looks a little rushed but again very minor.Looks, tone and playability were all spot on. You may want to try a L2500 first as from what I've read the necks are fairly chunky even for a 5.
The jazz basses are doing nothing me for (I'm a bit past that phase now I think) but the Tribute L-2000 with carved maple top and vintage neck tint is very smart indeed. If it were a natural finish over that top I'd hit the roof with joy.
there is a natural finish maple carved top though seems to be rosewood & a clear gloss finish on the neck only http://www.glguitars.com/instruments/Tribu...d_Top/index.asp

Joe's a great guy to deal with on the phone and via PM. I originally promised my green Spector Euro 5 string to him without any kind of timeframe, but when my circumstances changed and I simply needed the money for the car I got this week,he came through with the money within 24hrs. Nothing but good words to say about him. I'm happy he has the bass as he really wanted a Euro 5 in that colour and had been looking a little while. Deal with Joe in total confidence. Keir

great pics Joe! they look wickedly good together. as you now know,I like my action low and play with a fairly light touch. I set up all my basses like that. I was pretty sure you'd love it. And I also knew I'd already be missing it but thats the way of things was a pleasure speaking on the phone apart from my bad hearing at your initial comment on the bass. all the best Keir

Thanks bythesea and shockwave for the comments. i can see where you're coming from with the 5 string thing. Kermitnt,I stole it from Dave (eubassix) with his blessing. RhysP,I've seen clips of this guy playing his Godlyke. again thanks for the kind words Lorne that would make sense if its the case. Its my only niggle with the bass, the radius. otherwise it ticks all the right boxes.

Deity 4 string fretless from Japan. no longer made. Bought from eubassix a year ago so plenty of time to come round to loving this one. (unusual) set neck with ebony board, flame maple top over ash back, see thru black,18v preamp with 3 band EQ Beautifully (and very heavily) rounded over fingerboard edges and a properly cut brass nut make this bass a great player. sounds great too with the MM + J. My only gripe is the radius of the board is a bit flattish but I have largely got used to that

L-2000's - I've owned 3 USA's and a Korean TRibute and also a pair of Asats with the same pickups/preamp. I love 'em! I tend to leave mine in passive and in series. big growly, dark tone! The passive mode works without a battery as its true bypass and in either of the active mods the bass and treble are cut only. the USAs normally ship with the #7 neck (12'' radius, 1.75" at the nut) but there are some around which would have been ordered with the #8 (1.5 nut, same radius) This jazz bass like neck is standard on the SB-2,JB-2 and Asat basses. the tribute L2K's ship with the 1.75 nut width. there are no other neck options I believe on these. I used to own a lovely MIK L-2000. It was a natural ash/maple one and played beautifully. Whereabouts are you,I'm in Ayrshire and if you're nearby you're more than welcome to try mine. I should also have my old L-1500 coming back to me as well sometime soon and that one has the wider neck. cheers!

They're no longer made and would be tricky to find if one appealed. I have a Deity 4 string fretless and its a beautifully crafted bass. couple of clips of a 10string http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwsJfAXOI8Q http://truefire.com/bptv/index.html?req=1&...eargodlykedeity http://www.godlykebass.com/Deity_8_String.php http://www.grdmusic.com/servlet/the-17/God...ss,-bass/Detail

The flame maple topped G&L L-2000 arrived today from Si. Top fella to deal with, friendly on the phone and a man who knows his stuff. He even knocked me a bit off the already discounted price and then shipped on a 24 hour courier service ahead of payment clearing! This is the second USA G&L I've had off him and both have been stellar. thanks again Si
