1. You're gonna love this one then: I own a Gerald Veasley Signature 6 string from Ibanez. It has probably the closest string spacing on a production model bass. a sublime 14mm!! - I admit that in a moment of need I was about to sell it, but I have to say, I wanna hang on to it because that string spacing is great fun, very fast and makes chordal and solo work interesting. Yes! play it like an octave-down guitar! I don't care!! ha!

I've done the FuzzMo already
3. There will always be a next time!!
4.
Bass is almost finished now. Jon is putting everything together over the next week or so so hopefully able to collect it soon. Have received some more pictures now the lacquer has been finished and it may be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!
Absolutely stunning!!! Wow!
5.
Christ that is a thing of beauty. I'm seriously considering ordering one. Has anyone got a lot of experience with Shuker that they'd like to share?
Feel free to drop me a line!
It's worth registering and subscribing!!! The magazine and all back issues are free to read - and to be honest with 1 million pages dedicated to guitarists, it'd be good to get some support from my bass bretherin!
8. This is useful information as I wouldn't mind an active cab that I can use a stage monitor for gigs that lack decent monitoring. (I wouldn't try to use it as back line though!!)
9. I've reviewed the Nexus tube in iGuitarMag.com it's made in britain and actually sounds fab through Laney's 'big cabs'. Can't remember what issue it was, but despite weighing a ton, the rig delivered. Oh and as for the controls, they're actually dead simple to understand
10. Oh, sorry I'm not down in Pompey though.
11. Yep, a Shuker 7 string I designed with Jon Shuker. I'll post a pic. It's also tuned down to F#.
12. I'm chatting to Matrix Amplification about this very subject. Like an active studio monitor on steroids that can handle low end too... mmm, sounds almost to good to be true... well, it could be true, if your pockets are deep enough!
13. I have the Zoom Q3HD and yes the sound is actually amazing! It picks up the band at any volume in glorious stereo. The HD model's video is better but I think even the newer models are an upgrade too. Highly recommended. There was a Q3HD for sale on here the other day. Think I'll hang on to mine!
14. You'll no doubt know what this pedal can do! Well, I actually don't want to sell, but needs must. It's either this or the B3 to begin with and hopefully not cracking in to my bass collection. Expect to see more bits and bobs come up for sale soon. This little fella has gigged and has the odd mark on the outer shell (despite being mounted in a pedal board) £65 delivered in the UK .
15. I'm going to chime in quickly to say that when I upgraded from a BBoT on a Precision bass to a 'no-name' (well made) high mass bridge, it was easy to hear the improvement, even in recordings. Don't get me wrong here, it wasn't Nigel Tufnell sustain or whatever. You could however tell that the notes had more depth and a stronger note definition. So, I stand by *decent* bridge upgrades if a 'no-name' can sound better. Who knows - maybe my BBoT was a sub standard part to start with. But that's very unlikely.

Preamp Pedals
I am really interested in this pedal and saw your review Dood, any ideas where to get them, release date etc? Did you get the review pedal from the uk distributor?
Wow, I must admit I've had a brain freeze! I can't remember who the distributor was! Yes is the answer, we did get it through from them and as far as I was aware they had been released already. I understand that you can import directly too.
17. Ben is a great guy to deal with and I have played this bass! It is a beauty!
18. I think despite the very minor incidents over noise, the two days were absolutely excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed myself hanging out with some superbly wonderful musicians. I make no apologies over sharing my pictures on FB cos I had a great time and want everyone to know how important the LBGS is in the bass players calendar. IF you're serious about your instrument and progressing then the masterclasses alone are worth every bit of the cost of the tickets. Oh and you get to talk to the players 1-2-1 also!
19.
If ... BC Moderators for that matter don't like it then that is too bad. I believe I have the right to state what I believe to be true or do we simply keep quiet about issues and no-one gains from the situation. I certainly hope we are not turning BC into a suppressive forum. It should be open to all comments provided they are not derogatory or abusive.
I am not aware of any reports or complaints made to or by BC Moderators thus, you've not been silenced or moderated, thus I conclude that the forum post content isn't being surpressed. You're quite safe As you say, as long as guidelines and T&C's aren't being abused, it's fine. But that's another thread that has been beaten to death elsewhere
20. Ok, these really need to go so the last price drop will be £180 for this matched pair of as new pickups. They are parcelled up and ready to go so all I need is your address....and your money! Drop me a line asap. If you tell me in time I can bring them to the London Bass Show this weekend.
21.
Dood, what I meant was that he doesn't need a 'workable relationship' with the shop to get his rights, that's just crap. Yes, everything I hear about Hartke is good also.
Cool cool, totally agree. His rights should be automatically acknowledged not have to be negotiated. The retailer is being ridiculous.
22.
I'm afraid its about the same level of poor customer service i got when i bought a Kilo from Thomann who finally took it back without issue but trying to get anything from Hartke was a bit of a waste of time. Eventually Larry H did email me after about 2 weeks if memory serves me right asking what the issue was. To be fair he at least got in touch with me. Customer service in US didn't get back to me at all and UK someone got back to me after Larry H did. Pretty poor when the owner of the company gets back to you faster than his customer service departments. It was enough for me never to touch Hartke gear again. I'm now sitting with a very nice GK 1001RBi. It may have been a one off but doesnt sound like it. ??? My Kilo had a complete lack of volume. Could barely hear it at 50% on Vol / gains. Dave
Using TC Electronic as an example, if you buy one of their amplifiers from a different country to the one your are in (US for example) then they don't honour your warranty. The retailer would also be expected to use it's own country's repair centre. Therefore, to berate the customer services of the distributor in a different country to that of the retailer I think is unfair. I therefore would say that Hartke Uk have been really helpful considering. Maybe you're painting a bad image of the situation?
23.
No, that's now Korg's responsibility. I'd get them to send it directly back to you.
It's the retailers responsibility to ensure that the item purchased is fit for purpose and if not exchange it if it has gone wrong in under a year. In fact, as far as Uk consumers are concerned, if it can be proved that the item was faulty from purchase a return to the retailer can be made up to six years (unless that has changed recently) So, IF the itme was purchased in the Uk then Korg Uk will help in providing the hardware BUT it is the retailer who should be bending over backwards to ensure they are compliant with consumer rights. Now, I expect that people may think I am biased, but frankly, Hartke Uk have been great considering really, manufacturers need not get involved with retailer gurantee and returns. I mean, if my TV goes wrong, i return it to the shop, not Samsung and I expect the shop to deal with it.
