  1. Spot on. I was going to return some bits and pieces that they delivered in January after tell me that I wouldn`t be getting them. You have to fill in some kind of customs declaration and I don`t think you can claim back the vat? It was too much hassle so make sure before placing an order that you really want it.
  2. If it is under £135 in total, which includes vat and the shipping cost, then Thomman will take the payment and sort it out the vat themselves. I know this as I bought a cheap P bass and it works out to £63 for the bass £8 for delivery £13.93 vat A total of £83.60 If it`s over that £135 in total, you will pay the price on the site and UPS will charge you the vat and a fee. I`m not sure how UPS bill you the vat and fees as I haven`t bought anything above the £135 threshold.
  3. Me and Tricky did a deal. It was good Nuff said
  4. SOLD One of John`s exc wiring looms. I bought it recently for a project but am not going to go ahead with it so it`s got to go. Spec: VVT CTS 1/4" shafts, Old School cap and Switchcraft Jack - on side As with all of John`s work, this is a great piece of kit. If you buy this and need any advice, just get in contact with him and he will sort you out. The price is £30 posted 2nd class to the UK.

  7. Repeat offender here! Just got 2 cracking looms form John and they are a lovely piece of work. Thanks
  8. Hermes delivered a hearing aid to my father in law recently. Well when I say delivered to him, they delivered it somewhere. He stays in a 15 storey high flat with 6 flats on each landing, a total of 90 separate dwellings. He also stays on the 15th floor and due to covid regs, only 1 person is allowed in the lift or 2 if they are family so the lifts can take ages to arrive. They have a picture of the box outside a white door but guess what, all the flats doors are white and identical! Who knows what flat he left it outside, it could have been one of the other 3 identical buildings he just happened to be delivering to. Needless to say the dispute is carrying on...

  15. Guitarguitar would offer you half of what they would sell the bass for. I did it once a few years back and never again. I imagine most stores operate on the same terms. Sell on here as it`s a trusted community or get Bass Direct, who will charge you 20% but are good on second hand sales or Bass Gallery who will charge you 15%. I recently had a bass on com sale with the Gallery and it took them 2.5 weeks to list it and only after me asking where the advert was. The photos weren`t very good and sod all description. I took it back and 4 weeks later it`s still showing for sale in their Reverb shop, which is strange as it`s sitting beside me right now. The whole process just seemed very laid back. But that`s not everyone`s experience, just mine. My mate sold a Ric through Bass Direct in a week, good photo`s and description. If you price the bass correct, some nice photo`s, a good description and offer postage, which in these times is almost a necessity, on here`s a great place to sell.
  16. Sold Dave a pedal. Quick answers to pm`s, fast payment, a good guy to do business with. Thanks Gerry
  17. Overland express. They are a broker and use APC for bass guitars. I have shipped about 10 basses over the last year with them and the only problem was they had a 2 day delay, one day due to bad weather. And the tracking is really good. £30 insured for £1000 and it goes up £10 for every extra £1000 I think.
  18. Have a bump for a nice tube pre at a bargain price.
  19. Paul bought a pedal from me. Nice and easy deal, recommended! 👍 Thanks
  20. Jez bought some tuners from me, nice easy deal, recommended! Thanks
  21. Completed a deal with Dan, Top man and very smooth transaction! Thanks
  22. Check the clover leaf on the machine heads. I have had it twice on different basses and if there is any movement where the leaf meets the stalk part, it can cause a weird vibration. Just another option.
  23. Al, remember me not to buy anymore of these!
