Thats true that. I`m in a small cupboard and with the laptop using the wireless signal I was getting about 50 mpbs. The modem is in my son`s room so I had to run quite a long cable to the laptop but now I get around 210 to 220. It cost about £80 for the cable and trunking to hide it but it was worth it.

I like that a lot. The headstock has always put me off but that little bit of re shaping has made a big difference.

They better be, my mate has just sent them his Ric to sell!

They should change it to read "never has been in stock yet" Thats the most annoying thing about their web shop, you have to go into the actual listing just to find out it aint in stock. But you are correct, they have bugger all in stock at the moment.

The previous one was a black 434 with the terrible cream scratch plate but that was 2018 I think. The last one was a black 734 in 2020 but I didn`t give it much of a chance on reflection. It won`t be here till Saturday. I have shipped a few out the door recently so it about time something came in.

When 5-string basses suddenly make a lot of sense...
jezzaboy replied to mcnach's topic in General Discussion
Bass Direct have a nice 5 string MM for £1250, looks lovely in natural. Was almost tempted myself but 5 strings are not my thing. Might have gone for E to C though and changed the nut. https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/STINGRAY_5_H.html -
If the ESP is a Japanese version they seem to get a good rep. The only thing I would say is if you intend to move it on in the future it may be a harder sale than your Sandberg. I don`t know if £1200 is a good price for an ESP. Why don`t you pay £7 and list it on here for sale or trade? There is a lot of Sandberg love on here. It`s safer than Gumtree as well which is so full of arseh*les these days I don`t even post anything on there.

Hi Deke! Always good to see another West coaster. There`s quite a few from over the East side on here and we need numbers to keep them firmly in their place!

NOW SOLD As new Squier Classic Vibe 50`s P bass. Bought the back end of last year after reading Funkle`s review, I just fancied the look of it. I have removed the white pickgaurd which will be included along with the thumbrest, I just think that it looks cool without it. I have also fitted Fender flats, a Japanese Gotoh bridge and slightly better tuners from Northwest Guitars. It`s in exc condition and sounds great with the flats. The weight is 4.1 kg or 9 lb`s. EDIT: Whilst checking it over again, there are 2 very light scratches on the back, one just under the belly cut and one down at the bottom near the jack socket. They are not thought the finish and can only be seen whilst tilting the bass into the light. I would much rather it was sold locally taking into account the usual but will post for £20 UK mainland only but would need a few days to get packaging material. Or else you can arrange your own courier. Paypal f&f or bank transfer is fine.

The East end of Glasgow, a quaint reservation in the Jewel in the crown, near Celtic park. That BB800 was on sale for a while, started out about £500 then £400. But it was for sale in Elderslie if I remember right. Either they changed the location to get more views around the Glasgow area or someone bought it and got a surprise I would like to know what is under that stupid looking, cheap Jazz cover.

True. I went to trade in a bass a few years back and Paul was honest in saying that he would only give me half the value that they would sell it for. He advised me to sell it on Facebook or similar. Still it wasn`t as bad as Victor Morris (the Glasgow punters will know them well!) who offered me £30 for an almost brand new Squire P bass yonks ago. The only shop I know where you could buy a guitar and a crossbow at the same place!

I have owned a few Yamaha motorbikes over the years and never heard the word Yammy. It`s a Yam! But the way I have been carrying on with numbers recently in this topic, I shall slink away.....

After watching that clip, thank the Lord I didn`t buy it!

Paul in the bass department in the Glasgow store is a nice guy, always telling you to try a bass out. In the hope of a sale of course! That was back in the day when you could actually go into a shop and buy something. Madness I know but thats what happened back in the "good olde days" I have bought loads off them over the years and it has been mostly good. And DPD are cool.

Having had a good think about it, I`m not going to go ahead and buy it. Whilst it was available for a good price, I just have too many reservations about the bass. So it will be off to Bassdirect soon for not such a good price lol. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Can`t remember. It was a black one and the cream scratch plate put me off, sounds daft but hey any excuse to move onto something new. I`m going between the 434 and 734, I think the 34 is a bit too much cash.
