Thats the usual scam. "Is the bass still available?" I always state on my advert that if the advert is live, the item is still available. You just need to be as careful as you can. I do my adverts the same way as Lozz, cash only, you collect.

Just completed a deal for some Yamaha parts with Matti. We had some issues with the UK and Finish postal systems but it all worked out ok. Matti is a newish member on here but was a pleasure to deal with.

Couriers for bass guitars - recommendations?
jezzaboy replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
A bit of a tricky one that. Usually for the insurance to be valid, it needs to be sent in a hard case. If it`s an expensive bass it`s worth getting even a second hand case if possible. -

EB Cobalt flats G string rattle / buzz ? Advice please
jezzaboy replied to dmccombe7's topic in General Discussion
Same here Dave. I jump about a bit but sitting in front of me is a new set of EXL 160`s to go on the new Sandberg. I have bought quite a few of these sets over the years and so far they have all been spot on. -
You gave them 2 chances and they bolloxed it up. Return the second bass and spend your hard earned elsewhere. And name and shame them!

Pondering a couple of fretless Jazzes on Ebay

That Japanese one is about as Japanese as me! -
Got my new Sandberg earlier this week and very nice it is. The thing is I can`t stand the stock strings so if any of you guys who uses the stock strings wants them, drop me a pm and I will get them off to you gratis. And they say folk from Paisley have short arms and deep pockets! GONE!!

We have had a gig in the Hard Rock in Glasgow postponed twice now. It`s supposed to be next Feb now but I`m not taking anything for granted.

Are Amps and Cabs still a thing moving forward?
jezzaboy replied to dmdavies's topic in General Discussion
I use a RCF 15" frfr speaker for gigs when back line isn`t provided and it has performed fine. Most of the gigs have amps provided but if in doubt I bring the RCF just in case. It`s an easy one hand lift. I can`t see me going back to a normal bass amp setup. -
Right, as I have new shiny German things to pay for, I am dropping the price of this bass to see if I can shift it. It may well go back up in price but for now £800 collected/local meet up £830 posted fully insured to the UK mainland only, payment by bank transfer This is a great price for an almost as new US made bass. There are basses made in Indonesia going for more than this! It may have a funny shaped headstock but it looks great in the flesh

Annoying things people say to musicians

Someone always says "you should hear my mate singing, she`s great!" Usually a drunk woman. I blame X factor, Mickie Most and Hughie Green. All Ba*tards! -
NOW SOLD 2019 Fender Player Mustang Bass PJ Sienna Sunburst for sale only. The condition of the bass is as new, can`t find a mark on it. As you can see from the photo`s, the neck pocket is nice and tight, the colour is beautiful, the neck is gloss on the front and satin on the back. No fret wear. I have fitted a Gotoh Japan bridge as I find them a better option than the BBOT - original included. At the moment the bass is fitted with GHS flats at a cost of £33 and I have a set of D`Addario rounds that have had hardly any playing time that I will throw in as well. The bass weighs 3.6 kg or 7.9 lb`s. I`m looking for £400 shipped insured to the UK mainland only, I will not ship to anywhere else, payment by bank transfer only. If you want to collect I will knock off the postage cost. I am in Paisley just outside Glasgow and would travel for a meet up within reason. Specs: Made in Mexico Alder body "C" shaped neck 30 " scale Vintage style pickups

Loving that Lionel short scale. I was close to hitting the buy button on the white one in Bass direct but I`m on a Jazzish trip at the moment and instead bought a TM 4 in blackburst, Delano`s, split coil option, the complete opposite to the Lionel really! It feels good to be back in the Sandberg camp again, the feel and shape of the neck is perfect for me and Holger is such a cool dude that he makes me want to own one of his products. Should be here next Tuesday or Wednesday. Just need to sell other things to pay for it now

Holger reckons that the Sandberg ones are the lightest ones available as they are made from aircraft aly. Don`t know the cost of them mind.

Good score there. Personally I have come to realise that I don`t get on with MFD pickups, far too hot so the pickups in this would be ideal.

Keep the Ibanez, it`s one of the best basses in it`s price range. Tanglewood are not know for great basses. Apart from that you will be lucky to get around £80 for the Ibby. Shops will only give you half of what they can sell the bass for. I know you say you don`t want the hassle of selling but depending on condition, you could get £130 ish. Another shout for Yamaha BB, at the price point you are looking at, it is a very strong contender. Buy one s/hand from here and you won`t go wrong. Or buy a new BB 234 from the shops.
