I went 3 years in a row in the 80s. I have no idea who was playing.

Genuinely never played with anyone who played better when they were drunk, and I play with quite a few people who drink. I have however played with many people who said they played better when they were drunk, I guess that is down to their perception! Our drummer drinks enough to limit the length of any set we can do to the size of his bladder, which is about 1:15!

Gibson - an enigma (1974 EB-3 content)

Although it is not one of my favourites, I love that they have that massive pickup right by the neck and a tiny pickup 3mm from the bridge, like, we have these pickups, lets just put them somewhere! -
Spector Dimension 4 and 5 - left-handed
Woodinblack replied to mario_buoninfante's topic in Lefties!
did they solve that? I was interested in one at one point before I got an older euro on here and that was sort of a concern -
No problem, I had a gig last night in Weymouth anyway. gig went ok, except when the second half started I realised the camera wasn't on and went over to turn it on, but the bass was feeding back because of the backbeat so I muted it. got back and started the next song and the sound was really down, checked leads and everything. Suddenly remembered I had just turned the volume on the bass down! really good gig, they loved us but shame there wasn't too many people. one guy came up half time as he wanted to know how the strings on the EHB attached!

I hated how rushed we were at home farm (not this year, on a previous occasion). Still, glad it went well, I know quite a few people performing there. Probably should too as it is within walking distance from here, but too expensive for me!

Yep, learned that. Got a guitarist for a soul group, he wanted to do rolling stones songs.

Gareths sales posts were closed when he left I believe. But the answer is 10lb 3ozs!

It looks very similar to my ibanez SR1000 with a through neck, even down to the colour

There wouldn't be an increase as they have more costs but have more sales. If anything, there would be a reduction based on shared useage and higher discounts on materials.

People are the same in all walks of life, because people are people. Some people have a large amount of their self image tied to brands or objects. And I guess at some level, it isn't a binary, we are probably all guilty of it to some extent, but in some it really is excessive. The further up the chain you go, the more excessive it gets. I mean if everyone is playing squiers, who cares if you come in with a squier. Unless of course you come in with a Kay - screw that guy

Thats odd, I don't see anything in the logs, I like those things that go away before I get a chance to see them!

Does anyone run active pups into an active onboard preamp?
Woodinblack replied to Sammybass's topic in Accessories and Misc
Yes, the spector is active into active. The benifits are that you get the sound of the pickups you like with the sound of the pre-amp you like, no more than that. It has to be said that although the spector is new, the amount it cuts through, especially on the high end is quite striking. I don't know what this benefit is down to, but it is certainly noticeable. -
I don't tinker with the iPad for lyrics, I have a bluetooth footpedal. Generally I don't tend to use it much for lyrics, it does the sound. it used to do all the sound, but now I also use an X-Touch controller, so just for the initial setup, and it also runs a synth for footpedals.

Where would be their motivation to produce more instruments for less money? That really doesn't seem like a wise move. There are a lot of British luthiers out there making cheaper basses faster, go for one of those.

I use a smooth hound normally, but it seems to have gone missing, so I am using my cheap chinese 5GHz dongles at the moment. They fit but awkwardly, although it isn't an issue for me as I run a short cable from the bass to the backbeat which has the wireless on it. Before the backbeat I ran a short cable to an adapter which my wireless plugged into. I don't really like having them hanging out of the bass..

don't think that they have made an iPad app that could take as much time as our guitarist tuning between every song. Not like it is ever in tune anyway. I don't understand how anyone can take so long!

Its still due in the next few weeks according to all the emails since January!

I don't know what happened as I haven't seen any of that stuff, but I know some quite big name artist have a big screen just on the floor below them. I remember watching Dolly Parton at glastonbury and as the screen panned round her lyrics were there. If it was good enough for dolly its good enough for me.

Love the red leds!

I guess management books aren't very self aware Why? I wouldn't dream of gigging without an iPad,. I have a microphone stand there anyway, so it doesn't make any difference.
