  1. Yes - I was going by your post - pointing out the Mustang is often* closer spaced than that * but being fender, they have randomly and inexplicably changed it over the years from < 17 to almost 19 in various models. I have a squier CV mustang which is closer to 17
  2. 19mm vs < 18mm on the fender (it varies between 17 and 18 depending on the model). 19 would be standard for fender P basses for instance
  3. Another on this one is that the string spacing is wider.
  4. I do the start of that, as the drummer always shouts out 'what was that, jajagoogoo' when someone makes a request
  5. It doesn't make any sense regardless of the type of amp it is connected to, your resistor would have to match the wattage of any speaker it was connected to as half of your power would be going to heat up the resistor, which means it needs to be very big and bolted to some metal to get rid of the heat and you are wasting half of your power. So if you have a valve amp, connect it to the correct impedance output, and if you have a solid state amp, you can put more power into the speaker, and use more power, just to throw away that power heating a resistor, giving you the same volume if you had connected it without the resistor. The Harkte has a dual voice coil apparently, so I guess you are only using half of it in one of the modes.
  6. Groove is in the heart generally.
  7. They try to push you away from PayPal, as they have their own payment system.
  8. I buy through ebay a lot of the time and rarely have a problem, it is a good place to get cheap bits for those of us that won't use amazon and find things that are really rare (I mean, where does one get an eignharp otherwise?). i have never really had a selling issue and certainly nothing like the level of crazy above.
  9. I have an Argon 8 - don't use it too much at the moment, amazing sounds though. There is also the cobalt 8 which is the analogue version. I would probably use it more if it wasn't for the fact that it still doesn't blow the Blofeld out of the water as it should.
  10. Yes, I do that, I didn't realise it had a name or anything. Or at least that in technique, not the metal stuff.
  11. When someone says they don't post, and something hasn't sold and they relist and relist, I ask if they would consider posting. If they won't then that is fine, its worth an ask, but the answer no is pretty clear, it doesn't need a reason.
  12. So a separate sub forum for the 48 english counties, 33 scottish counties, 11 welsh counties, 6 northern irish counties, or do we also include the 26 counties of ireland and maybe european and american ones too, as we have members from there?
  13. our singer has now gone so far as to wear earphones. They aren't wired up yet, but baby steps, its only been 7 years...
  14. Thats the sensible approach! With me, Nose, Face, Knife, you know what you need to do
  15. I think in those circumstances I almost certainly wouldn't have sold it to him, and reported him to ebay for abuse. And the hospital!
  16. I don't mind the question 'can you deliver' even when I have said I couldn't, that is just part of the problem of selling, as long as it happens before any bid. Bidding and then winning and just assuming you will deliver, that is the pain. We used to use freecycle to get rid of stuff, but now we put a price on things, even if we would be happy to give them aways free, just because dealing with people on freecycle was a lot worse than dealing with people who will spend a short amount of money. Half the people on freecycle are just businesses that will take stuff and then sell them to others, and the other half are people who are beyond entitled, who once you give away a washing machine for collection get really annoyed you won't deliver it.
  17. Is there a gap or can you just get used to it and pre-press the foot switch that amount of time before you use it?
  18. Considering all your plusses and minus (and having not tried or even really looked at either), everything in your plus of the GT100 is something that can be added to the GT1000 (extra buttons, footpedal etc), wheras mostly none of the GT1000 can be added to GT100. I would get the GT1000, and then if I wanted the buttons / footpedel etc I could add that externally pretty easily. It is a pain to have external stuff, but it seems better value at almost the same price
  19. Thats the other mansons, as mentioned that isn't affected.
  20. Lemon rock is pretty up to date around here (obviously the site looks dated), you would need to put in a lot of effort to get something similar
  21. I think it would be hard to find things in a forum layout, and with old venues dying off and new turning up, or new ownership of old venues and changes in parking etc, I can't see it being that much help. I suppose in areas where a lot of you live it might be useful to some though
  22. Always sad when a shop closes but it has to be said that whie it was a great guitar shop it wasn't exactly that useful as a bass shop.
  23. I gigged purely a B3 for the longest time, and had no problems with it. I upgraded to a B3n, but I have actually never used it live - i haven't got round to getting on with the UI, I also have a B1Four which I put on my pedal board last week as I had a problem with power for my helix, but at the last gig the helix was working fine so it didn't get used.
  24. Funny what you say about sound changing in venues. The drummer (who uses my P2) always just has his vocals in his ears and just I guess uses the bleed through the headphones for bass and guitar etc (I don't know, but I figure someone gets whatever they ask for in their ears), but on saturday he asked for bass and guitar in his ears too. never needed that before. However, it coincides with getting the best out front sound we have had. It could be that I put a noise gate on his microphone, which he also commented that it sounded great as he wasn't getting the drums in his ears either (and thus also the PA).
