1. Yeah he is pretty handy, good song-writer too.
Ah jack, he's a good guy, great player too. Had a sweet funk jam with him (and a second bassist!) at the end of one of his mr wolf nights.
2. OK - I'll have one then!
They are standard centre negative terminal unit......will work great with the tone hammer.
3. Aguilar replied as follows: We recommend using the Aguilar PSU-2 power supply with the Tone Hammer. However, most 18V power supplies will work fine as long as the output connector is center terminal negative with a 2.1mm barrel (standard for most effects units). Do you know if your PSU is center terminal negative?
Sorry I have no idea, most pedals will take 18 volts but please check with a dealer or you might cause damage.
4. Any idea if this will power up an Aguilar Tone Hammer? If so then I'll take one.
 5. Managed to get some time with the M2 last night and it does work with the line signal from my pedal board but does not seem to loud! Going to try it tonight with the keys player at a rehearsal and see how we go. The supplied headphones don't seem up to much so may have to go for moulded plugs with drivers in them. I bought the system of EBay for £250 which I think was fairly reasonable. Did want the Shure PSM 200 but it was too expensive and I was not keen to spend a fortune on something which really is a bit of an experiment!
Agreed, it will be happy with line level signals. There should be a reasonable amount of gain control as well so you can tweak to suit. If you have a link to the manual I`d be happy to have a quick look, but I`ve been feeeding my akg iem system from the line out AND/or the d.i out on my ashdown, and sometimes the out from my Boss GT6B with no problems. MM Out of interest, what did the AT unit cost?
6. Wasn't planning to use a mixer just wanted to try and blend the two channels together on the receiver unit.
Does the mixer on your pa have any aux outs?
7. Ok just bought myself an Audio Technica M2 system and have not had much time to look at it yet due to work and hospital visits etc. I want to mainly use it live to mix my bass signal and the keys players signal in my ears. Does anyone know if the signal going to both must be an amplified signal ie a DI out or can you just take a line signal such as after my pedal board but before my amp or direct from the keyboard? When using with a full PA is the monitor send an amplified signal ad that is what you would normally send to an IEM system I guess? Any help on this gratefully received!!
 8. Yes patience is the word Pete!! Hoping that I love mine as much as you do yours - fingers crossed. They are special basses with such a unique tone, can't wait to do a few gigs with it.
I was wondering but knowing where it is I knew it could be a while Looking forward to pictures and a review. Funnily enough I have been playing mine earlier for the first time in a while, It sounds and plays so good although the truss rod might want a tiny tweak. No matter what people say they do sound different to EBMM versions even the 2 band EQ ones, must be Leo's magic?
9. I think mine is nearly ready to come back and my wife has just bought a spangly new DSLR camera so promise to get some decent shots up just as soon as I can!
Just bumping the thread , Come on there must be some fresh pre EB news?
10. How do you go about ordering a bass to your spec? Do you have to go through a retailer or can you speak to them direct in the USA?
Well, I have been after an unlined fretless Musicman Stingray in Tobacco Burst with a black pickguard for some time. Couldn't locate one anywhere in that spec, so had one ordered in the next Ernie Ball production run. Order was placed Feb 15th and I received the UPS tracking details today with an anticipated delivery date for 16th May - yippee!!! I'll post some pics when it turns up safe and sound.
11. I take it that it has a ceramic cone rather than neo?
Bathroom scales say..... 13.4kg.
12. How much does it weigh?
Hi Guys and Girls, I have for sale a great sounding SWR WorkingPro 1x10 with horn compact cab. Size is 42x36x36. In as new condition. One went on ebay last week for £220 so I will offer this one to a fellow Basschater for £170 posted.
13. Yeah great bag, really well made and lots of pockets with zips!!
How do you like to Protec bag......I'm still loving mine I have to say. S
14. Yeah I know - just keen to get it sorted and done the right way. So that answers the questions ref two inputs so that leaves the question on if it is good quality or cheap sh*te from Thomann!!
Man, you`re like a dog with a (T) bone.. Have a look HERE 2x Combi-Input adjustable on receiver
15. Still busy researching the switch to IEM and these look like an exceptionally priced unit but there are two things that worry me and I wonder if anyone else on the forum has used them and could confirm or quash my concerns. They are: 1/ They are low cost and therefore low quality - they are about half the price of the Shure system that is top of my list. It is false economy to save the money on the base system if it is inferior in build and sound quality. 2/ I am not sure if you can plug in two different inputs and then mix those inputs as you can on the Shure system. I need to take a feed from our keys player and then a feed from my bass amp so two inputs is a must. Cheers
 16. Thank you. Made me chuckle when I found it!!
LOVE your avatar mate.
17. Yes they did and neck binding too. I bought a '74 jazz bass which is a YOB bass for me, think I was lucky as it was the right year and plays and sounds like a dream.
Did Jazzes have blocks in 1974? If so I might be interested, can't say I've thought about it before though.
18. Will check out that system. What in ear speakers are you going for once the moulds have been taken?
As per my post on the Wireless IEM sticky, I recently went for a set of Sennheiser G3 GB in ears, the EW300 model. Absolutely cracking! I'm currently receiving all the instruments as dry and uneffected from the PA's AUX send but I'm working on an idea to get effected instruments and vocals to my ears, involving an onstage mixer. Highly recommended though - the quality is just superb! I'm going next week to get moulds taken of my ears.
19. I do have an Aguilar Tone Hammer which is a DI box/preamp but I don't really want to take the feed from here as it is pre my f/x board and therefore the signal would not have all of my weird sounds in it! What I planned to do was when we play without a PA and use back line just take a feed from my bass and the keys player and mix the levels in my ears so to speak. I only really need to hear him as our drummer is so bloody loud. I think that that would work. Obviously when we use a PA at a club I can take my bass signal and then just take a monitor feed from the desk and have the whole band in my ears. That is my plan anyway. Seems to be a lot of budget IEM systems from T Bone and LD systems etc and they are a lot cheaper than the Shure system so wonder what to do now!
You can get/make passive splitters to double your di out (1xfemale to 2x male xlr) OR, Just ask the P.A tech to use one of his own D.Is. Whenever I stick a bass in the house I always use a separate D.I anyway, One because it has an earth lift and a pad, and is pre amp EQ which may not suit the house (shock horror) And two because when the guitarist/drummer/pissed/fan falls over and pulls your mains feed out,or your amp blows up, you still have bass in the house. Are you going to be using a small mixer like a Folio to mix a few channels into your stereo ears, or are you going to set it mono and use the blend function to alter your bass/mix blend?
20. Darn right there! I wonder if I could just take a jack cable from the last pedal on my board (EBS Unichorus) use the stereo jack output and go into the Shure unit? I think that would work??!!! Normally I just take the mono output and then go straight into the input of the Mark Bass head.
Bit of an oversight then Hmm.
21. No - Balanced Line input on the front but only one DI out on the back!!
Haven't you also got a line out on the back of the LM3? DI on the front, line out on the back.
22. Cheers for the comments - it turns out that most hearing aid centres now sell moulded ear plugs for musicians so you can get these down locally and then just choose how much money you want to spend on the speaker systems within them! One thing that is puzzling me though is that if I want to take a line out from my bass amp into the Shure IEM system using the DI out then what happens if you are using a PA and the engineer also wants to use that line out? My Mark Bass Little Mark III only has one DI out??
Hi, I`ve used a few different iem systems by shure and sennheiser but not this range. Looking at the spec I can`t see any reason why it won`t be as good sonically as the more expensive sets, but it may not cope with larger venues where multiple radio systems are in use. You can of course use whatever earbuds you like, and can indeed get specialist moulds to fit a range of them. One company that specialises in such is Handheld Audio
23. Cheers Mike, was not aware of that gig - like you I missed them at Ronnie's and was gutted. For me that would be the perfect gig to see them at at these days I just want to watch and listen and if you can eat at the same time then even better! Tickets are £26.50 each with the booking fee - will see if I can get down to that one.
Guys - just thought you'd like to know Incognito are playing in June as part of BluesFest London, I've never seen them live and regret missing them at Ronnie Scotts last year; http://www.bluesfestlondon.com/component/e...ils/2-incognito Should be good Mike
24. That playing by Crampton on that track is killer!! I have Tales From The Beach and Transatlantic RPM on in the car all the time and just love the bass work on those albums. Mind you like Andrew I think RHT on Tribes, Vibes & Scribes or Positivity really takes some beating.
ive got to agree with Mike..not feeling that solo... thats being very cinical.. his groove playing is really wonderful though without doubt i do love Julian Crampton's playing on this track...he seems to balance groove with technique so well.... killer playing.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBuaotpfulw its Julian and Randy for me.
