1. I have had my EBS Multi-Comp for some time now and never really thought too much about it but there seem to be a lot on the market now and I wonder which one people feel is the best and most useable? Seems that the Aguilar TLC, Diamond Bass Comp and the MXR seem to be most favoured. But what about the Spectracomp on the TC amps? I really only use a compressor when I am slapping to even out the pops - should I be looking for more usage than this such as improving the highs? Any opinions and advice greatfully received!
 2. I went through the exact same thing as you and in the end only calmed my desire by actually getting one! They are great pedals and no other filter sounds like them and believe me I have tried them all apart from the 3 Leaf stuff. However, they do take a bit of work to get that sound just right and it really changes between basses too so if you use more than one it can be an issue. They are also large and heavy and take up loads of space on a pedal board too. I am beginning to think that they are a great studio effect but maybe not the thing for live use? I have found the Aguilar Filter Twin to be a great pedal and much better than others that you have mentioned. It is funny though how one works for one and not another, Higgie loves the Subdecay Prometheus and Maxon AF9 but I could not get on with either of them!
 3. It's a tough life Mick! I think that I did put some pics of the Rumour on this thread when I got it but you would have to trawl through and see. Anyhow some new ones of it would not go amiss on here!
See Mark, I'm not sure whether I'm envious of you or not...you have to choose between something like this...or the Thuya on the website...decisions, decisions, eh???
4. Mick just bought my GB Rumour from me and was a top man to deal with throughout, really nice and polite and great with comms. I was sad to let this bass go but know that Mick will take care of it! Would highly recommend him to others on the forum.
 5. Not 100% sure yet but something along the lines of a Rumour in burr walnut but with no thru neck showing on the face, highly figured birds eye maple finger board etc. Definitely want the battery and electronic covers cut from the wood rather than plastic this time.
Cool - what sort of spec are you thinking of this time?
6. Sounds good - will be down soon to see tha man and talk about my Rumour 5.
The same one. The office is now Bernies workshop. The basement is now what you see in that pic. There is a new kitchen in and upstairs has been completely revamped and the teaching room has been created. I think Dr Bob is looking at stocking more higher end stuff. Its certainly in the process of transforming from a little back street shop to a more boutique niche effort. The workshop toilet is more like a throne room now! You wouldnt recognise the place now.
7. Is that really the basement where I went before in Prestonville Road? Last time I went in there Dr Bob had some interesting stuff upstairs but that was it!
Dont suppose you've been down to the workshop recently have you? The bassment has undergone a massive refurb and now houses a pretty immense collection of vintage bass, guitars and amps...
8. Is that Psycho Andy's old Spitfire?
 9. Both - now know who the bass player is but the band?
Who is who? The bass player? Dan Humphreys.
10. Sounds good - who is that?
And a new video too - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEIrz4WkYrM
11. Excllent - many thanks for the link. I will pass on the info.
 12. I left my pre EB Stringray with a guitar tech recently for a set up and he is struggling to find the right Allen Key to adjust the truss rod. I was advised that it should be 3mm but apparently that does not fit. Anyone know what will fit?
 13. Me neither. You just have to pay for any reserve price that you put on - simple as that. I honestly feel that the site should restrict sales to new members until they have made a set number of posts.
I've been buying/selling on ebay for donkeys years and never heard of a sellers cap? I've sold things from 1p start price to £8500 start price, never had any contact from ebay telling me there are limits? I'm not doubting the story, just never heard of it myself.
14. EOPE was a breathe of fresh air when it came out in 1993 and I still love it now. Jamiroquai were never the same after Zender and Smith left, all the funk went. Having said that I do like Paul Turner as a player and think that he has just a unique feel and sound as Stu did.
 15. What are the dimensions of the Bass Micro Synth?
 16. Sorry is mis-interpreted what you meant for a minute! The pedal is coming back from London today so I can try that and see what I can hear - bloody annoying as first time it came back it worked perfectly and then after a couple of weeks same problem again. He cannot get it not to work properly all the time that he has tested it! Could there be anything in a looper that would cause this?
I meant turn up the amp just for testing... if you don't have it loud enough you might not hear the problem
17. Not sure as I never had to use it like that - I have only had it a short time but when I first got it you just turned it on and it worked no problem at all. I seem to have had issues since I bought a looper with a blend in to replace my LS2 and can't think why. Turning the amp up to compensate is not ideal when you are stomping on and off for different parts of a tune!
 18. Evening all, My Deep Impact has been playing up, the output volume drops to about half of what it normally is with the level at half way. It has been away twice now to a repairer recommended by Daniel at The Gigrig and they are saying that there is nothing wrong with it and have checked ith through thoroughly and sorted out any dry joints etc. They think that a pedal in my set up is overloading the input stage of the Akai but the problem was still occurring when I had the pedal working in isolation so I don't agree. The other suggestion is that my basses are too hot for the pedal and this is resulting in a digital overload and the pedal reducing the output as a safety measure. Has anyone else heard or had anything similar with their Deep Impact?
 19. Did you A/B against the 3 Leaf Proton or Groove Regulator 2?
Very quiet and very cool. Funkarama, great squelch. Well worth the price tag.
20. How do you find the Wonderlove? Only just found them on the web and may buy one.
Here's mine. Each one very useful with the others. Very happy with the outcome. The 'cheap' Gator Bone powered board i the best Ive used, the other hardcase styles are just too bulky and heavy. Bass - EBS Stanley Clarke Wah - EBS Octabass - Darkglass B7K - Aguilar TLC Compressor - 3 Leaf Audio Wonderlove - Amp. Prefer to use the tuner on top of the amp, just an old habit I guess. Really does bring colour and groove enhancement. Well, thats my opinion......never had complaints from the band.
21. There seem to be some new filters on the market and wonder if anyone has tried them yet? Thinking of the new 3 Leaf Wonderlove and the Subdecay Prometheus Deluxe.
 22. Yes, they are not cheap!
Sheeeet! I just saw the price of the ACS in ear system!
23. Yeah you can plug in a lavalier mic - I have never used it but it seems like a good idea! The ACS T1 Live has built in ambient mics on the outside and I understand that they are launching a belt pack that also enables you to mix in the sound around you - so I may look at that in due course. My T1's are so good that at rehearsal we now have to mic the drum kit up as I could not hear anything of it with the mix in my ears which I guess is the point! The antenna is ok on the AT system - never had any cause for complaint on it yet. I did like the look for the Shure systems but could not find the money for one.
Hmm just checked out the M2 system, looks pretty decent, although forgot to check price haha. I noticed that as an optional accessory you can have a lavalier mic so you can hear whats going on around you, so your band mates don't need to scream at you to no avail on stage to get your attention Ever tried using it? Also, one thing I'm a little aprehensive about with all these IEM Wireless systems is that the receiver packs all share the same flimsy antennas! Used to have a Sennheiser instrument wireless and the antenna has a big kink in it where it got bent. Not sure if there are any brands without that or whether it's just something I'll have to deal with =/ Yeah figured if I'm gonna spend that much on customs I may as well go the whole 9 yards Quads ftw!
