1. DI out of the amp then?
I just take a feed from the line out from my amp (a TC RH450)
2. Glad that I am not the only one struggling with T15's then!! They do sound terrible, probably ok for listening to an ipod but useless for IEM. Do you think that their dual driver T2 would be much better? Costs a lot more so in theory should but you never know. Snap with the tinnitus!! How do you get the feed from your amp into the IEM receiver?
[sub]I had exactly the problem as you withT15s bought to go with my existing E15 moulded plugs. Absolutly no bass response and very quiet too, usless for IEM. They were used for one gig and then put away in a drawer somewhere. I never thought of contacting ACS though.[/sub] [sub]I now use some Shure SE215s headphones (without my moulded plugs) which do a great job at isolating loud drums/guitars and also have great bass response. I use a Shure IEM and mix a feed from the [sub]my amp [/sub]along with a feed from the PA for vocals and it works a treat. Its just a shame I didn't discover ear plugs or IEMs years ago... before I got tinitus !![/sub]
3. Blimey! Had never heard of these before you mentioned them - amazing prices. They are acrylic thought which would make me a little wary and there would also be VAT and import duty to pay too but certainly a good price.
I'm going to go for Alien Ears when i get mine. I worked it out at about £300/£320 altogether for a set of Triple Driver custom moulds, not sure what it'l be now but i can't imagine it'l be much more. Liam
4. Yep a demo seem like a plan. But what I don't understand is how the AT earphones can sound so much better given that they also only have 1 driver in them and are not moulded? Does not make any sense.
The T15 seems to be an entry level piece and performs accordingly.. You now have a reference for what is what, so I would be looking at the upgrade if it is that good a deal There seems quite a jump in price the T15 price to the other dual/multiple earpieces and that stands to reason if they use dual or triple driver technology. You wouldn't expect 1 speaker to do it all in a bass cab would you..?? the bias would be high or low but wouldn't cover both that well...so assume the same sort of thinking here. However, if you found the AT ear pieces better then that is a bit galling, but then they aren't moulded either..and am not sure that they could be. Get a demo from the multi driver options would be my thinking...
5. Yep to be fair they have been great - and that is one reason why I would like to stick with them. Very rare to get that kind of service and understanding these days.
I don't have anything constructive to add, I just wanted to say how impressed I am to read about ACS's customer service there
6. I think that it is part of their genetic make up!!
 7. Evening all, I recently bought a set of T15 monitors from ACS and fitted them into my existing moulded E15 ear plugs to make a set of fully fitted in ear monitors. I was at rehearsal the other night and as I felt that that bass was a little lacking I decided to isolate my signal just to check what it sounded like - bad move!! The sound in my ears was really tinny and starting to distort when I dug in a little. Out of interest I decided to A/B against the supplied ear phones (not moulded to fit my ears) from Audio Technica. To my surprise, the Audio Technica ones sounded infinitely better, loads more bass and no sign of distorting or cracking up. Given that the T15's cost me £149 I was a little disappointed by this! The next day I called ACS and explained my problem and they were horrified and said that they never get calls like this. We concurred that they must be faulty and to send them back for them to check. Yesterday they contacted me and advised that they have tested them thoroughly and there is nothing wrong with them. I was really hoping that they were just a duff pair and new ones would be sent out and problem solved. Has anyone else tried this route with monitors and if so what did you think/find? Wrongly I assumed that expensive monitors in a fully fitted plug would sound great and have more bass then I would ever need. Never dreamed that the stock headphones would sound so much better! Next problem is what to do now - ACS have been great and offered me a full refund or a great deal on their T2 which is a custom fit dual driver monitor which again I have been promised has stacks of low end for bass players. Again anyone tried these? So I can take these or look at monitors by Ultimate Ears, JH Audio or Minerva (which seem really well priced). I think that most of these are acrylic rather than silicone so not sure how comfortable they will be. Any advice or suggestions would be gratefully recieved. The wife says that I should take the money and stick with the cheapy ones from Audio Technica - she would!!!
 8. Ha ha!
you might be mate, just glad it's not my fault.
9. Ah ok - thought I was going mad there for a minute!
Ended up withdrawing it due to needing it for a theatre run.
10.
Bank Holiday photo time - Signal path - Bass into TU3, Aggi Octamiser, modded DOD FX25B into FX looper. Loop 'A' has the EBS Trem and Unichorus, Loop 'B' has the modded, rehoused Russian Big Muff, Loop 'C' has the EHX freeze pedal. Output into a Chord BOD 50 (Boss ODB3 clone).
I thought you sold your Octamizer the other week?
 11. Nice one Pete - where you been recently?
Yep that case is correct, there are a few BC members that know of there origins from buying them new, they are only period correct cases other than the teardrop MM ones anyway although it does make it feel more special opening an old case for an old bass IMO, there are a few colour options for the lining around, blue/black/orange/red all are correct
12. Just added a couple of new pedals permanently and sorted out some of the wiring underneath the board. Hopefully no more changes for a while but do still have GAS for a 3 Leaf Audio GR2 and Aguilar Octamizer!
 13. Bloody hell can you really bump 3 times in 12 hours! Have a day off and take one one me.
 14. Took delivery of mine yesterday and on the back of first tinkerings I would 100% agree with your comment. I have also just shifted on a Mark Bass Super Synth so feel in a pretty good position to comment on both pedals!
Not in my experience...... Doesn't come close in fact
15. Ha ha yes by some I think it is! However I can honestly say that it is such an improvement on the original tone that I am thinking of doing the same to my jazz.
Isn't it considered heresy punishable by hideous torment to change a part on a stingray ?
16. Good point as I understand that 'Rays from even a few years ago sound different than the current ones.
Any thoughts on the difference between the modern 3 band 'ray preamps (mine is '04) and the East?
17. Sold pending the usual - thanks Will!
 18. Nearing to Ebay bump! If anyone wants to make an offer then please feel free.
 19. Doh - I think that because it is not at the end of the board I figured that would not be the case!! Looks a tight fit to get your jack lead in and out on a regular basis (ooh matron!! that all went a bit Carry On for a second) It's early - need to go back to bed methinks!
You are correct Sir! Just wasn't plugged in as I'd just finished plumbing it.
20. Easiest way to solve this is to put the serial number into the site below and see if it is catalogued on there: http://www.musicmanbass.org/ This is the site that I mentioned in my post yesterday and is pretty good for getting info on these old basses.
 21. Nice looking board!! I can't work out how you have the LS2 wired up as you do not have the output on the left hand side hooked up. Please enlighten? Cheers Mark
Decided to shift the wah off the board to aid a bit of space- got the RAT back on for the time being - hoping to replace that with B3K. All George L'd up - even managed to get the Thumpinator back on top as well (it was velcro'd on the underside of the board previously).
22. Not sure if that is correct? I have a '77 Stingray and yes it does have the "teardrop" case which is original but I am not so sure that they all shipped like that? There is that website where you can put in the serial number and it tells you when the bass was made and which case etc etc. sure someone will along shortly to tell us more!!! Pete where are you?
Hi there Sorry to do this but thats not the original case it may be what it came with. The original musicman cases are tapered and have the MM logo on the in silver. Good luck with sale if it was black instead of natural the same as mine i would be making you an offer
