1. It does make sense, from the point of view that Doug likes locally produced. I also seem to remember Tommy telling me he had found the speaker cloth, similar to what is on my TKS W2126s, from a different supplier for a different customer. But, I can't remember if I saw a speaker with that on his FB page. (Maybe I am remembering that wrong.) The fact that Doug has a Mesa Carbine, and Mayones bass in the workshop is a hint we have similar taste. My cabs.
2. Now that is a very interesting thought. Why didn't I think if that? Tommy has been quiet recently. Or maybe I just missed what he posted.
3. Really nice. I put mine in the basement. Ripped out the useless sauna and took over the unused TV room. Do show the progress. Always fun to see and inspiring.

5. Nice Norwood, let'ssee if this works. How do you like it compared to the Aguilar?
6. Really looking forward to the amp announcement. Suspect it will replace my other lightweight amp.
7. Not much. Well, except for a Mesa Subway D-800.
8. Myself I am the opposite. Something that is lighter than my M9 and can be brought near the same sound territory. Colour me interested.
9. Ovnilab review: http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/darkglass.shtml Concluding paragraph below. (I think it is fair to say that Doug at Darkglass has done a really good job.)
Compared to the MXR M87, the Darkglass is larger, but better constructed; and the M87 has brighter highs, while the DG has a fatter warmer sound. The Empress is the same size and quality; it has better highs and clarity, while the DG has fuller lows. The Keeley Bassist is smaller and more neutral in tone, while the DG has MUCH better metering. I actually think I'd recommend the Darkglass most to someone who was considering a tube compressor for its warmth or "vintage sound", but not wanting to use an uncommon power supply. It's quite similar to the Smoothie with the tone tilted a bit to the bass side, though again the DG has better metering. The Origin Cali76TX has a better combination of deep lows and clear highs, and I just love the Cali's action, but of course it is much bigger, and lacks the blend function.
10. Since I wrote this, I have an TKS 112 when lightweight is needed. Got compliments with a trial with a new band the other day.

Depends on the quality I would say. I have some that are rubbish, but then they where a bit cheap.
12. Short demo video. EQ demo comes soon, supposedly.

A clean amp. Not many know how it sounds yet, but I bet the new Mesa Subway D-800 is both lightweight and clean. Shipping in October supposedly. Weighs 5.5 lbs.

I know that aren't 2x10 cabs, but if you have a chance try the TKS S112 cabs. Two of them is a very nice setup. And lightweight to boot. Check this thread for some impressions: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/212014-tks-engineering-cabs-new-to-the-uk/page__fromsearch__1
15. Nice. The 2126 is a real beast. How does it fair with the Tech21?
16. That looks very interesting. Going to compare it to the GK MB500 Fusion I have now for when I need something lightweight.
17. I like Roger's big rig. It makes mine feel so modest!
18. Bump for a great bass. I have two black RB850s. Yeah, you can call me crazy.
19. I have a GK MB500 Fusion as a lightweight when not using a Mesa M9 (which generally is overkill). I like it. Otherwise a Tone Hammer would be good too. For speakers to go with that I recommend Barefaced or TKS which are lightweight. I have a TKS 112 and the GK in a bag meant for a cajon. It works.
20. Doug, the creator of the Darkglass pedals says he designed it to be able to drive a power amp. He said he uses his to plug into the power amp of a Mesa M3, bypassing the preamp. I know he has the M3 standing around in the workshop, as I have seen it.
21. The way the different controls interact with each other is quite powerful. I recommend you take your time.
