1. Great review! The bass sounds fantastic, I didn't think it needed improvement, but once again I've been proved wrong! Definitely a very interesting product.
  2. The whammy is probably the only pedal that can do what you ask with decent tracking. I've got one in the For Sale forum. Let me know if you want it.
  3. I made a fandangled contraption involving some old computer floppy disks I wasn't using. If you tape two of them together, they create just enough clearance for the velcro to stick to the board unaffected by the feet. If you take another two disks and turn them sideways, you should, with a bit of maneuvering, be able to fit both sets of floppy disks in between the four feet, and then tape them to the pedal. I removed the bottom plate, wrapped velco around the disks, and then wrapped the velcro round the bottom plate, and screwed the plate back on. This locks the velcro between the plate and the pedal on both sides, meaning it can't go loose. Sounds like a lot of work, but it's actually a quick and easy fix, and works fantastically well.
  4.
I think I'd run them as octave > bassballs > stone > chorus, but ultimately, you have to swap them around and see what sounds best to you...
That's how I'd run it too, but as 1976FH says, ultimately, it's up to you to experiment
  5. If I don't get a Sadowsky soon I will ACTUALLY tear all my hair out and prance around the room like a bald fairy.
  6.
THATS MY LOOPER ON YOUR BOARD!

i thought i recognised that looper hehe.
7. I see no reason why you couldn't place the buffer conveniently right next to your fuzz's footswitch so you can hit both...If the box is that small it shouldn't be a problem. That's what I'd do. I think 3 is the most logical, but it's not the coolest idea is it
  8. I love that board. Simple, effective, and versatile, all with the added bonus of being nice and compact. Brilliant mate!
  9. I bought one of Dave's adaptors off TaySte for the same price as new as he'd hardly used it, and the quality is fantastic. Never had a probelm. Not to mention Dave has done some astounding work on my Mu-Tron for me. He's a top, top bloke and I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything off him if I needed it!

    akai deep impact

I'm fairly certain the Deep Impact is used in this song. Time Is Running Out is done on a keyboard with clean bass on the top. Hysteria is Overdrive/Fuzz with Deep Impact and Clean bass tone.
  11.
With the hellbaby running into it, i think the prunes and custard can get a hysteria ish tone.
Yup! That's right. I made a soundclip of Hysteria doing just that: Hysteria The stop in the middle is where I change the Boost knob on the Hellbaby...I can't remember if I turn it down or up though, I think I turn it down.
  12.
Pretty good, I didn't try the 105Q but I wanted something that could be activated automatically instead of having to step down on it
The 105Q IS automatically activated.

    Octave Pedle
The best octave down ive heard was built into my old ashdown ABM 300 EVO II head, if the ashdown octave pedal uses the same circuitry (no idea if it does) it could be worth looking at. right now i'm using an old Digitech WH1 for all my octave needs.
That's what EVERYONE was hoping for with the Ashdown pedal, but they managed to bugger it up lol. The octave pedal is sh*te. And +1 on the Whammy for octaving needs, though I use the inferior re-issue, unlike Ant with his WH1-ness.
  14.
see, everyone talks bad about the ODB-3 (myself included), everytime i've tried one in shops i've hated the results, but a bassist from another local band used one into my rig and it didnt sound so bad, he had it set at unity gain and it seemed to dissapear in the mix when he switched it on, but set a bit louder it could have been alright. Horses for courses.
Part of my old bass sound that you loved on those recordings was the ODB-3 into an old Marshall Guv'Nor. Either that or the other way around - I can't remember. I do like the ODB-3 for certain things, but at higher settings it does sound like a bee in a tin can.

    Octave Pedle
The Digitech Bass Synth Wah is widely regarded as the best octaver effect. Hamster
I agree. I honestly think the pedal is worth buying just for the octaver, let alone all the synth and filter stuff. Fantastic pedal at an affordable price. I only got rid of mine because I got an EHX Bass Micro Synth, and the octave effect on it wasn't as good!
  16. My (virtually) finished board. I'm happy with it, but I think I want just one last thing like a Delay (Not sure wether I want something analog, or something like the Echo Park that does a good Analog effect but can do all the digital stuff too). 1. Fulltone FatBoost 2. Tech21 CompTortion 3. Digitech WH-4 Whammy 4. Wobo 2 Looper 5. Dunlop 105Q 6. Custom Barge Concepts VFB-2 Blender 7. Aphex Punch Factory 8. MXR Bass Auto Q 9. Tonefactor Hellbaby 10. Loopmaster Custom Mini-Looper 11. Crowther Prunes and Custard 12. Original Musitronics Mu-Tron III 13. Chunk Systems Brown Dog Gated Bass Fuzz 14. Chunk Systems Agent 00Funk Envelope Filter 15. Korg DT-10 Tuner Chain is: Bass>FatBoost>VFB-2>Punch Factory>DT-10>Amp In the loop of the Barge is the Wobo into the 105Q (So i can blend my wah with clean, sounds amazing with octave down and distortion too) Wobo Loop A>Comptortion>Whammy>Wobo A Return Loop B>Hellbaby>P+C>Brown Dog>00Funk>Looper(Mutron in the loop)>MXR Auto Q>Loop B Return
