1. I saw them live only the once.Must have been late 90`s. I was very disappointed. They had a brass section and ruined it all for me.
2.
Odyssey - 'Greatest Hits' 1987 master - German (Polydor?) - don't knock it 'till you try it.... Bronx Street Mix of Native NY is probably worth the cost alone.......
I keep toying with the idea of buying an Odyssey greatest hits CD. They have some great songs.
3. I have an ealrly Christmas present of Joe Bonamassa - Different Shades of Blue. I like it
4. Perhaps it would be worth asking questions to see what response you get
5. Thanks for the link
6. Ok Thanks. I thought if you inverted it, it would maybe be different . So if you invert, then G is inverted perfect 5th, and F is inverted perfect fourth, so as A is next to G,so inverted 6th, i guess that makes absolute sense. Sometimes i can`t see the wood from the trees . I complicate things by thinking too much.
7. Yeah, sad news. A fair few from Woodstock have gone now
8. If the root note is C, on the A string , the G on the E string becomes the inverted fifth, and F Inverted fourth. If i went to the A up the neck on the E string, what would that be in the Chromatic Scale ?
9.
Evening all. I know you are not that keen on Tabs. Cheers. Bill.
I think most people are ok with tabs. There are a few that aren`t keen
10. I find there is a certain amopunt of bullying goes on in this forum. No where near as bad as any other forum, and it is usually dealt with on here pretty quickly. Just saying that not everything is all rosy on Off Topic.
11. Tonight will be the worst in Gloucester. The biggest game of rugby in the Gloucester calendar is on today, so it will be manic. Most Christmas parties will be taking place tonight because of it.
12.
I have read a ton of reviews, the general consensus is that it sounds good, the preset rhythms are great, but it's flimsy - poorly made, by most accounts.
Yeah. My original one broke on the casing that houses the plug . I glued it back together, and works fine. Mine doesn`t appear to be as flimsy as some reports, but i do worry everytime i drop it on the floor.
13. Has anyone got one? I have the original bass amplug, and it is great for practice at work. The version 2 has some bass patterns. The website doesn`t give a lot away, so was wondering if it is worth upgrading
14. You do get over a thousand nectar points as well.
15. Is there such a thing? I have no idea. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1991-1993Fender-US-Prodigy-Bass-Stratocaster-Electric-Guitar-/171588046644?pt=Guitar&hash=item27f371cf34
16. I have no idea about any of this, but can`t a good producer make the same sound recording on a CD as a vinyl? I would have thought with all the technology, you can make a cd or mp3 sound more like a vinyl. Or is it a case of another lost art?
17. I saw an advert about Pro Toothpaste. No idea what makes a toothpaste professional. I just looked it up, and it is even better. It is Oral B Pro Expert toothpaste
18. I have a fault with my old Rockbass Fortress. The battery runs down in a day even when it isn`t being used. I assume it is something to do with the jack
19. I bought a new Warwick Streamerabout a month ago, so yes, they do sell some
20. If you have problems with wireless, the obvious solution is to hook it all together with a blue cable. It will solve all the problems of dropping out, and still have the benefits of being wireless
21.
http://nwb.co/blog/p...d-gear---update Happy Ending
That is great news. Rarely see a happy ending in these situations
22.
I guess the internet is really to blame for the current situation, I was lucky enough to get tickets for Pink Floyd at the Nordorf Robbins gig at Knebworth Park back in the late 80's? I remember it being advertised on Radio 1 my mate rang up and booked six tickets....it sold out pretty quickly.....Radio 1 kept stating that it was sold out, there were no tickets available on the door and if you didn't have a ticket there was no point in turning up as you wouldn't get in. When we arrived we were greeted by touts selling tickets at 4 x face value but as we got closer to the entrance touts were selling at face value and by the time we got to the entrance tickets were on sale for £10 (from memory we paid £30 for the tickets) Radio 1's message seemed to have got through and if you didn't have a ticket you didn't turn up. Obviously those were the days before the internet so tickets could not be brought and promptly put back up for sale at extortionate prices. I am not sure what the answer is nowadays other than banning the resale of tickets and as others have suggested tickets have your name and address on them and without proof of identity and address you don't get in....the problem with that is customers are not going to be prepared to stand around for hours whilst these things are checked
You are probably right about the internet. I bought my tickets for Glastonbury in the early 90`s from HMV.
23. I reckon WUM`s that are not very good at it are probably more insecure than people who take a spare bass, just in case. I like a good wind up. Some are very witty at it. The best ones are the ones that aren`t so obvious about it.
24. Whenever i read these types of threads i always get annoyed at the responses. There are always people saying they shouldn`t leave their gear on the van. The first thought that comes into my head is, why the hell shouldn`t they leave their gear in the van.It is their gear and it should be there in the morning regardless. Then i have a reality check and know you people are right and they shouldn`t as this is what happens. Just such a sad situation really. Hope the thieves somehow get some bad luck.
25. It annoys me as well. I tried to get tickets for Kate Bush for a mate who was away. As everyone knows, Ticketmaster was sold out in miinutes. I scanned other outlets and found Get Me In. There were tickets on sale within minutes for £800 on the site. I then found that Get Me In is a place where people sell tickets, and it is ran by Ticketmaster. So they get a cut of the original, then another cut for touting. Seems that they are the biggest touts in the industry.
