1.
I've still got two, both Rics, but both would be better with the extra string. I'm tempted to try and covert one of the Rics, which has both a lovely wide neck and fortuitously one of the long headstocks, to a 5er. Look at for that thread!
Have a word with the well known modifier on Ebay. I would imagine he would be only too happy to do it for you
2. Are the necks much wider on a five string?
3. I thought i would see what was in Currys offer. I am placed in a queue, and i am number 263310. Not looking like i will get a bargain
4.
But I'm having fun what it's about .
That is the most important bit.
5. Are you going through something like RGT grading books? If so, it starts of with scales and stuff, and progresses as the grades go on. If that is the case, and you want to grade, then it seems standard.Nothing wrong with the way he is teaching you, if that is want you want to do I saw the grading pointless for me personally, so changed teachers.
6. I found learning the notes and scales, arpeggio`s hard work. On changing tutors, i found the the Chromatic scale is the best way to learn scales and arpeggios. You don`t need to know all the notes, and it is all transferable down the neck. The notes come together over time. No idea if it is the right way to go, but i find it easier. I found myself questioning my tutor and myself, because some of it seemed so pointless. It is only when you can execute the stuff, and move forward that you realise how important it is. You need to trust the tutor. Do whatever you are asked, and practice until you get it. You will find it all starts coming together over time.
7. Shows an American band, with expenses and income from a tour. I found it enlightning. http://www.digitalmusicnews.com/permalink/2014/11/25/band-just-finished-28-day-tour-made-much
8. Dave, Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch was an ironic name. Dozy could get by on the least amount of sleep
9. Such a shame. I am a big fan of the Motown stable.
10. How many did you have to try before you found the right one?
11. The Four Tops never knew anyone called Renee
12. Could it be that Laklands are rarer, so command the price because of that? Only a total guess though
13. Seeing as there are a fair few people with bands, perhaps we should have a new heading soley for people to post a youtibe clip or soundcloud of music that people could listen to, download, or buy. I am at an age where i rarely know what music is out there, and most of the bands i followed as a youngster and grew up with, are no longer around. Would be nice to learn about a few more bands. Most of the bands i watch seem to charge around a tenner for a CD, which is usually signed.I usually buy one if i like the band, and obviously have looser pockets after a few, but i am rarely disapponted on listening the next day
14. You could try to get Warwicks Andy Irvine over. I love his enthusiasm on his youtube videos. Clover would be a nice stand. I thought my new Warwick would make me leave my Clover Avenger in the case, but it is the other way around.
15.
For two years I built and brought a left hander to the show and over the two shows one person tried one of them. I then had to discount them heavily to sell them. So from the empirical evidence it does not really encourage me to try again. Having talked to other builders about this their experience is the same hence the lack of left handers from custom builders there appears to be little interest.
Unfortunately i have only been there for the first time last year. Even if you had a left hander, i probably wouldn`t have had the confidence to try it . However, next year i am a lot more assured of myself. I did try an Eve bass, but it was right handed, and couldn`t really get the feel for it. But i guess you are right that it isn`t viable if you can`t get any orders for one. I`m still looking forward to it, even if it has a lack of left handers.
16. I would like you to try to encourage more stands to bring a left handed example of their instruments if possible please.
17. Suzi Quattro loved rallying so much she designed a car for Audi which shares her surname
18. Some keen wheat growers were going to call their band, Algricultural Fields Of Nephilim, but , realising the last three words of the band name had already been taken, called themselves The Farm instead
19. In early 1976, the release of a new Fleetwood Mac album were just Rumours
20. Iron Maiden have been long time admirers of Madness, and even wrote a song about wanting to collaborate with them.
21. I like a bit of slap bass if it fits in the song. Brothers Johnson-Stomp, for example.
22. An old fact, but Dire Straits and Chris Rea are forming a supergroup called Dire Rea

24. Maybe try different tutors? I had an excellent tutor when i first started.I didn`t know any better. After 18 months or so, he moved away so i had to find a new one from this very forum. I realise there is a massive difference between the two. I think i had a lot of luck with him moving away, and forcing me to find a new one. I am not saying yours is no good, but maybe skip a few weeks with the original, and try to slip in a few lessons with a new one just to compare, That way, you may save 18 months of being with the wrong one. For example, i find the one i have now who specialises in bass only with foundation degrees and a BA in bass studies has so much more knowledge than the guitarist, who teaches bass to RGT grade 8. He costs me an extra £5 a lesson, and a 60 mile round trip but i have gained so much more in 8 lessons than i did in 18 months
25. On my 7th birthday, the song at number 1 in the charts was Can`t Give You Anything(But My Love). I have no idea what the song is. Then after that it was Sailing, by Rod Stewert. So I am going to say no. After youtubing the song, i knoiw it, but it is still no a
