1. Sound control's at 199 will be the old 2x250 @ 4 ohms outputs. Rather than the new model's 500w @ 4 ohm output, I suspect anyway.
2. Yeah, we were slightly shocked when this was posted on BW. Laughed quite alot too.
3. An American Tele for £350.... Bugger, if I hadn't just spent a grand on a car and insurance, I'd have snapped it up.
4. Welcome to the world of guitar playing bassists. Remember that, guitar playing bassist. Just in case you ever have the urge to do a twiddly solo at a completely inappriopriate time (known as turning to the dark side )
5. I dunno, I prefer the original t-bird shape. Although, I suspect that would balance better out of the box.
6. Do be doo doo: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2677 Shame on you machines!
7. GAS = Gear Aquistion Syndrome And for £500, just get out and about and try them in shops. Jazzes and P basses are the standard basses that everyone tries but there are lots of others on the market (Warwick, G&L, Musicman, Rickenbacker, Cort, Ibanez etc.) Also don't be afraid to look further afield like on here and ebay, can get some 2nd hand bargins.
8. Gibson do a hard case for the t-bird, although it'll be the same cost that you paid for that t-bird MB (it's about £100 rrp iirc).
9. Er...Open it up and look for dry joints/broken joints etc. Then, get a multimeter, and go part by part testing output around components to see where the fault is. *Edit: Also, I'll hasten to add, you knew the pedal was broken, yet you've got no idea of the basics for at least checking it and fault finding? What possessed you apart from maybe grabbing a bargin?*
10. *psst* When taking pictures, always make sure the strongest light is behind you and you're facing away from it. Nice fretless, looks very good in black.
11. This was posted on BW sometime early last year iirc. Still, I'd lost the link, good find, even if it's a bit useless outside of listing the brandnames and string composition, as the tone/feel is a bit subjective.
12. Well, yes, technically my hand position is different, but it's more towards the bridge pup which wouldn't make it darker. Which is why it's oddly confusing me. Not entirely bothered though.

Thomann t-amp

All the T-Amps http://www.thomann.de/gb/search.html?sid=a...mp;bn=THE+T.AMP And, I might buy one for that price if I can find a pre-amp I want.
14. So, this is why soundcontrol got them so cheap to flog off (even if there was the new model coming out)
15. Note to TB owners: Apparnetly if you move the strap button/lock from the upper edge to the little square bit under the neck on the neck pocket area, the balance problems go away. I wish I'd have known that, as I wouldn't have sold mine last year otherwise.
16. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
17. I may be half hourish from pickup, but alas, I have no transport outside of my motorbike. And I also cannot justifiy another bass at the moment when I'm saving up for a basic rig, I'm a poor student type don'tcha know. *Looks at auction* It's gone now anyway.
18. f***, it's seem too much of a bargin to be true. If sensible postage was offered, I'd probably have it like a shot.
19. This is a bit of an odd one, I just added a j-pup cover to a my Squire VMJ, plugged it in, and it's seems that it's outputting a much darker sound. Just posing the question as to if this is physically possible, or just my ears having an odd day? (Note: Not changed settings etc from yesterday, not done anything else but drill the holes, fit the cover and put some schaller strap locks on the bass)
20. I'd probably ask the music department head at the school to get more information. They're generally the most clued up about it.

Kev's Feedback

Bought the ToneFactor Omega Fuzz from him, top bloke to deal with. Well packaged as well. Although, little bit of drama, the label got wet, luckly the postie was the regular so knew who lives where on my street!

Just Arrived!

Oh my goodness, that looks fanastasical.
23. I've got Super slinkies on my Aero (45-100), love em to bits. Considering trying some DR's on my VMJ, but I suspect it'll end up with the super slinkies on as well.
24.
I personally thought the random staggering of the string ferrules might add a certain something to the tone Oh and I just noticed the saddle adjusters on pic 2 (or possibly not in the case of the E string)... what the feck is going on there!
Took me a minute to figure out what you were on about, but I concur, how on earth do the saddle adjusters get longer (and therefore, higher) when the saddles are raised higher? It makes no sense :S
