  1. Not unless it's underneath, no. Here's the website (although the company haven't been responding for some time now) https://www.bassmute.eu/bm_mainframe.html
  2. NGD = New Gadget Day in case you were wondering! I used to have a fantastic switchable mute on a nice Bacchus jazz bass I had years ago. I found it really useful but I sold the bass where it was installed and although removable I didn't fancy risking any damage to the bass so it went away with the instrument. I have tried using various types of foam since which normally works just as well but can have a tendency to mess with intonation and I always lose the foam at some point. Recently playing my Musicman bass with built in mutes has reminded me of the usefulness of the Bassmute so I put up a wanted ad for one, not expecting to find one any time soon (I've been looking on and off for a while) but then @2x18 came through with the exact model I needed, even the right colour. A deal was done, it's here already and I've bunged it on my bass. It sounds delightful; position 2 mutes everything a small amount and the G string a bit less for 'accents' (each pad is adjustable) and position 3 mutes everything. bit more. I can palm mute but something about the angle my wrist ends up at, especially when sitting (which is where I do most of my planing, naked) isn't comfortable enough given how comfortable everything else is, and I'm a lazy git really. Couple of pics below. Thanks again BC wanted section!
  3. Looks sweet @Ander87
  4. Felt I should pop this pic here. We had a couple of hours in the sun this week. The dark caramel neck looks sublime in the daylight! @Ricky Rioli I can’t remember if you said but have you got another on the way?
  5. Maybe - but the beauty of them is that they’re all in one and so hassle free. The headphones themselves are great actually; for listening to music and playing. They ‘flatter’ music more than my Beyer cans which are much more open and more spacious for playing along with music but with the Roland’s I turn the bass down a touch to stop things getting too ‘crowded’ and I’m able to achieve a pretty close approximation
  6. Sounds like it was acting more like a limiter than a compressor. I always use a limiter but with quite a high threshold
  7. Hi mate it's a 'slapstrap' - not sure if you can get them any more? Really nice leather with velcro 'tail' adjustment. Perfect for the Backbeat
  8. Nice bit of garden playing this morning
  9. Cheers!! I don't go to many gigs so never quite sure where to get tickets without being ripped off or missing out. See you there!
  10. Thanks for that. A few of my pedals aren't square so this makes it a problem. I did see that they offer a solution via some pivoting holders but even so I think the wasted space would annoy me. Nice board by the way
  11. How/where do you buy the tickets plz?
  12. Found it, just for you 😘
  13. P/J/MM is the ultimate trio
  14. Sorted
  15. I'd definitely get one of these if I was making a board. Also hate velcro and it wouldn't work anyway on two of my favourite pedals (Danelectro Cool Cat and Mutron) - Cool Cat has rubber underneath and weighs loads, and the Mutron has tall rubber feet that I don't want to remove and also weighs a ton.

The tone feels more like a cut control hence higher setting at the moment

Yeah! I’m still playing with the settings. Interesting to compare high gain with low mix versus low gain with higher mix
  18. Nice pedal. Really great feeling switches that click easily with hardly any travel. The pedal is more muff flavoured when pushed but does a very warm distortion at lower gain. The second foot switch massively boosts the gain (but volume stays same) giving really sludgy distortion (my phone just autocorrected that to ‘biscotti on’) Will have to try it out with the proper rig soon. Compared to my EWS Stormy Bass Drive it’s less ‘modern’ and ‘raspy’ sounding so I’m looking forward to trying it ‘loud’
  19. No idea!! Can't find it anywhere, it's like it was a dream!
  20. Why do you slacken the strings for flying? I know lots of people do it but it’s not good imo unless you’re loosening the truss rod too. Better to keep it in tune and in balance (sorry to nitpick!)

  22. Love the irony of that being posted a couple of years after the thread was started 🤣
  23. That looks nice. I did buy a white one but it turned out not to fit, despite assurances that it was for a pre-eb bass. I really like the black on white though so will likely leave it as it is. Looks awesome with the blue one though!
  24. I carried my first bass home in a carrier bag
  25. A split P pickup cancels magnetic hum but they are still susceptible to electrostatic and RF interference which will vary depending on local factors. Remember you're shielding the whole electronics not just the pickup. The wires, pots etc are all susceptible to 'hum'. My G&L SB1 was REALLY noisy before it was shielded, now it makes no noise even in front of the computer/lamp/penis enlarger
