OK chaps, last chance - please keep this tread updated with details pertaining to your own individual case, crime numbers etc, but please keep any banter, ideas for retribution etc off the page otherwise I'll lock this down. Since my last message it's slipped that way again, which I understand, but we don't want to give Mick ANYTHING he can use against us, not that I have any confidence in him pursuing us, but still.
Thanks

Hi @TedM all the details you need are in this thread. Sorry to hear you’ve been a victim too. I hope the Police do something but you’ve done all you can for now.
Many couriers exclude musical instruments from insurance cover in the small print (but still let you buy it)
The main reason I have promoted Eurosender here is that, despite a few issues here and there (as you’ll find with ANY courier or booking service) is that they specifically cover instruments with a third party insurer, as long as the instrument is in a hard case.

ERGO insurance is the company providing the cover.
Still, you only find out how good that is when something bad happens - but insurance always feels like that. I’d never ship an instrument without proper cover.

Hi mate yes apparently so, although I haven’t tried personally. I’m sure it would be more than close enough. The scale length and different electronics are more likely to offer a slightly different vibe but in the same ballpark. I had a passive OLP with graphite neck that was absolutely killer and the electronics in that were as basic as they come.
It’s fair to say I’ve played this more than anything else recently! I’ll let you know if I see any good ones. What model and colour ore you after mostly? There’s an interesting used one at Bass Direct with a Moses neck which might be worth trying!
That looks great. I really like the black crackle finish to, and have the same on my SB1. A very flexible bass - you could also look at the K-mod which allows single coil modes. I'm eyeing up an '83 L1000 at the moment but really shouldn't! I saw this one on Classic & Cool and was really tempted myself.
The recipe has changed a few times over the years; I’m sure there’s one out there for you somewhere! I also think they magnify differences in strings somewhat, so that can add another factor to get the sound and feel you want. What did you find lacking?
Thanks I’ll have a look when she gets restrung. Also need to do this with my Celinder as there’s no serial on it anywhere else! Better get the screwdrivers out 🪛
