1. I played 4 string for about 20 years before I tried a 5, and now I wouldn't even look at a 4. I still be scared of a 6 though....
2.
Drummers too, a type of musician....granted, it's a weird type but nonetheless still counts as a musician to me.
I heard 'blah blah blah drummers, blah blah blah weird' and I totally agree with your post.
3. ^^ Explain drummers then.
4. Make your bed you mucky bugger!
5. I wanted one of these for years but it's about 5 years too young and has one too few strings for me now. Still, it's lovely, so good luck with the sale. SLAAAAAAAAAYER!!!!

Is this still for sale? Can you please let me know a ball-park price (by PM if you prefer)? Thanks, Stuart.
7. Aaaah, you have mad skills. Very nice.
8. That's just horrible, and she's weird looking. <shudder>
9. Jason Newsted. Just rubbish.
10. Spieluhr by Rammstein. We do loads of Rammstein numbers. The basslines are easy/repetitive, but it takes a while to learn the lyrics by heart...

12. I'm not a crap bass player! Where did that come from?
13. I've been a lead vocalist and bassist for donkey's years now. I've always had to concentrate on my vocals and frontman stuff ahead of my bass playing, and I suppose it's held back my development as a player. I can certainly get more creative on the bass during musical interludes or solos. All the feedback I get from audiences is to do with my vocals, never my bass playing. I guess it's a compromise (and I convince myself that I must look as cool as Tom Araya ), but I don't think I'd change it - I really enjoy covering both. Does anyone else do this, and how do you strike the balance? Do you prefer to be thought of as a great vocalist or a great bass player?
14. Not really a venue story, but years ago I played in a thrash band who were booked to play a music pub in Norwich that we'd played many times before. Due to some misunderstanding with the local newspaper, the clientele were expecting a popular Elvis impersonator to appear on stage. Most inappropriate and unappreciative audience ever!
15. In a covers band and the drummer insists on playing every song exactly as it is recorded, leaving no room for changes, and no chance of us being able to pick songs outside of our usual genre for modification. Also, over-loud guitarists......
16.
You mean like this one? -Jake
Bastard!
17. About the 2nd week in June. The website seems to have exploded for the moment.
18. Ooooh, I haven't been to a show since a BMF about 18 (?) years ago. Saw John Entwhistle give a little amp demo (can't remember which make, Trace Elliot maybe) and he was excellent. He was just sitting on a stool noodling away and a few of us crowded round him to watch. Took me a while to work out who he was.
19. I tried to teach middle stepson, who's 11, but he has the attention span of a goldfish and the rhythmic sensibility of a bluebottle trying to get out of a window. I think he's given it up after realising that it's something you have to work at (and that you don't get an extra life if you complete level three!) Frustrating.....
20. I so want one of these, I have it all picked out and everything. 5-string, in Nirvana Black. Unfortunately, my mortgage is choking me to death.
21.
I was waiting for them to make one from "Asswood" but sadly that never happened.
Hi

It only takes a couple of bass players to turn my innocent introduction thread into a discussion about the vocabulary of enforced arse-banditry.
23. What sort of music do you play? edit: Just googled Michael McDonald. Soul. No idea then, sorry.

Hi

I'm at work in Folkestone atm, but I live in Hempstead, near Gillingham (which is not to say that I am Medway scum, because I'm not!)

Hi

Cheers. Nice FJ. I have a CB1300F, strictly for Summer use only.
