  1. Really nice playing, somewhat battle-scarred black/tort CIJ 1990s (1993 or 1997?) '62 RI Jazz bass. With custom US pickup additions, sounds great. About 9 pounds too, so a good weight for a J. Bought only a month ago, but I enjoyed playing it so much (after a longish spell with primarily short scale basses) that I went the whole hog and stumped up for a stunning 1999 US AVRI 62 Jazz in lake placid blue. Hence this is surplus to requirements. Price includes 48 hour UK delivery in a rather rudimentary but functional hard case. Can also be picked up from SW London (Barnes) *No trades thanks* Original ad here, more pics to follow
  2. Withdrawing, its too nice
  3. lol! Not with LPB (at least for me)
  4. This just arrived, such a nice colour and rather hot IMHO Better pics than mine in FS ad http://davidjpym.com/page295.html
  5. Maybe you have a dusty xxxx though? 😂
  6. Fabulous handmade short scale bass but I now have a few fabulous basses and my cowpunk band, for which this was bought (a replacement for my Mustang), looks to be toast. I bought it from BC six or seven months ago (ad link below with tons of pics and specs) and have since sourced a black s/p and TRC from Serek for more of a Gibson TV yellow look. Still have the tort s/p and TRC. Very light bass and plays slickly with flats. Collection south of Hammersmith Bridge or post at cost. UK-only after some post-Brexit horror stories (2 of which I have been involved in). No trades due to aforementioned surfeit of basses and lack of opportunity to use them! This normally results in PMs along lines of "hi mate, sure I can't tempt you to trade with a xxxxxx ..." but to be clear. No trades, thanks! Previous FS link
  7. Great to hear you are back and recovered Gareth! Nice colour bass and Mustangs are soooo fun to play. GLWTS!
  8. Ooops, me again! Another fine bass from Ash, safely delivered and described perfectly. Cheers matey
  9. Oh go on Ash. Ping me with payment details and total cost (including delivery). Cheers Clarky
  10. Ben just bought my Stingray Shorty bass. No fuss comms, super fast payment. All good!
  11. Its not super-skinny like a Geddy or JV, more like a modern US J bass
  12. Thanks Paul, long time no speak/see. Hope all is well with you!

    Gone.

Guessing he is referring to the different neck? Unless that is a protective black strip?
  15. Looks like this may be sold. Just confirming....
  16. Arrived yesterday after tortuous Brexit journey from France (6 weeks ...). Thanks to the patience and assistance of excellent seller @Hooch aka Yannick. Sounds wonderful and the J width neck suits my knackered left hand nicely.
  17. I bought this about 6 months ago for lockdown enjoyment but it's sat in its hard case for most of that (I prefer my Serek short scale). Minty fresh with sticker still on rear and no marks that I can spot. Very light (8lb or less, I think) and very fast to play roasted neck. Limited run and no longer made - the last new ones were for sale at £2399 in Gear4Music. Hence £1750 sounds fair for an as-new bass. Collect in SW London or post at cost. Comes with its hard case and all the case candy, all minty too. Alternatively will trade/px for a sub 9.5 pound vintage Jazz bass (1975 or earlier) or 62 AVRI Jazz. No other trades thanks. 18. Yannick could not have been more accommodating. Lovely vintage P bass and the month or so it took to navigate customs (thanks Brexit) saw him making regular contact to try to move things along. Top seller!
  19. Wow, 5 years between bumps! Patience is a virtue, they say 😂 I have a TB-10 and can confirm they are fabulous things so let me get in a 2nd bump and say GLWTS
  20. Here's a nice one but at just short of £3k a bit overpriced in my view http://www.motomusic.co/musical-instruments/fender-mustang-bass-competition-1974-candy-apple-red
  21. Hi there, early 70s Mustangs these days go for £2000+. See Reverb https://reverb.com/uk/p/fender-mustang-bass-1971-1981 Amazing examples can reach as much as £3000 but most will be in the £2000 sort of range
  22. Damn that 20% Brexit VAT charge for importing from mainland Europe!
