    I despise the Blues Brothers' 'Everybody wants somebody'. Not so much because of the song but due to its amazing power to cause a headlong rush to the dance floor from lagered-up lads (who normally prefer to booze rather than dance), knocking everyone aside, leaving a trail of death and destruction and lots of bro-hugging. (PS, Mr Brightside is the modern day equivalent)

    I have a potential viewing on Thursday and also at weekend, so lets see how those go. I did see you posted on another DB 'for sale' ad, asking to borrow the bass for a teacher to check out for your son. To be honest, I would rather not let my bass leave from my house unless to a committed buyer.

    Thank you for your comprehensive and extremely helpful answer! To the best of my knowledge (ie, eyes, hands and ears!) The neck has not budged an iota in my ten years of ownership. Of course I would expect any serious potential buyer to come and try it out and they can then satisfy themself as to the construction, stability etc as well as playability and sound.

    Hi all, next up for the blues rock-Americana incarnation of the WBWB is the Tuesday Night Music Club, a well known venue on the blues circuit. Tues 31st May, two 45+ minute sets from us. Cheers!

    I managed to take a pic with torch in hand of the inside where the neck joins. Can of you learned DB folks tell me if this is evidence of a neck block being added?

    Bought recently on the forum. Great tone but I have decided to go for a higher powered amp (this is 500W at 4 ohms, 300W at 8 ohms). Made in 2016, works perfectly, comes with nice padded Ampeg gigbag. Asking what I paid but may entertain very close offer. Post would be a tenner on top. No trades thanks

    Fair point but I think its the amp thats lacking. I just picked up an Orange Terror Bass (again, I know ..) as a stop-gap until I can get hold of a Handbox WB-100 all valve amp (not currently on sale but apparently they are in the works)

    @knicknack had a try-out on the bass last night. I am hoping he will be along shortly to supply some unbiased third-party feedback on his experience with it.

    If I peer inside I can see a block of wood about (I guess) 4 inches wide where the body joins the neck. I tried taking photos (example attached) but these are not as clear as my vision. I assume that means it has been strengthened to "standard"? The former owner told me the neck had been reset so I guess that may have happened as part of the process.

    Tried that early on in this thread with flamenco guitarist Vicente Amigo, who I absolutely adore, but fell on stony ground!!! A diss-fest is always likely to get more traction. Also, a band I really like, who do not seem to get the BC thumbs up, are Uncle Tupelo, alt-country rockers who eventually spawned Wilco and Son Volt.

    ELO. Can't stand their pompous over-produced Beatles-influenced music yet I seem to be in a tiny minority on BC, where adulation seems to be order of the day whenever the name comes up. Bah humbug, waves stick etc
