1.
Ahem, sexual descrimination?
You're just jealous coz you haven't got "SULTRY EXPERTISE"
2. Good luck with your search but I don't think there are many lady DB players on this site (can only think of one off the top of my head). You may have to cast the net a bit wider or, gasp, consider someone of the male gender
3.
No. He fell into the inebriated South African camp. "Play something that ****s up my head" was a good one too. I fear we were too late.
I was worried he would follow your guitarist home
4.
"You should do a few covers" Get this helpfull advice a lot. Drunken/medicated and incoherent South Africans are quite high on the list at the moment. "You should do a few covers" "I used to play bass in a band.........." "You should do a few covers" The best was from a Polish guy who comes to a fair few of our gigs. Just after I got my new rig and the drummer had played a bit more forcibly than usual. "Your bass was sounding huge this time. Your drums were awesome too. You. (to the guitarist) You sound the same"
Was that the same Polish guy on Saturday who was calling out for cover versions of songs by The Cult?
5. Further to the above post I would consider a cash plus bass trade as long as the cash was a sizeable proportion (at least a grand) and the bass was something that could be moved on without too much difficulty (or - if it took some time - I would enjoy playing in between times, eg, nice vintage or CS Fender/Sadowsky/Celinder 4)
6. And last one from me - Jason Newsted doing the solo entry to My friend of Misery live on his modded black Alembic Spoiler (like mine but with uprated electronics and an added middle pickup). The first 2-3 minutes should give a good idea of the Alembic natural sound - ignore the last minute of how-many-fx-can-I-play-with-simultaneously twaddle
7. And here's a cracking Enter Sandman from 1991 in Moscow, with Jason Newsted playing a gorgeous black Alembic Elan
8. Here's Holier than thou by Metallica - check out the bass break at 3:10 and you'll see what I mean about crunchy aggressive tone (not very cappuccino/latte to me!)
9. Or, in a distinctly rockier vein (and what attracted me to Alembics), try Metallica's Black Album, eg, Enter Sandman, Holier than Thou or My God of Misery. Quite an aggressive crunchy tone when played by Jason Newsted (or before him, Cliff Burton, who also used an Aria and a Rick)
10. Best if you let people know whether you mean filed or filled ( re-read OP) as it obviously means two different things!
11. Hi Tony. Which P bass did you buy as Tom has sold a few I think? I don't need another P (sold my white one Sid yesterday) but if it's one I could move on quickly then the deal you suggested might well work. Cheers Clarky
12. Although I withdrew this bass from sale on Friday, I could actually do with selling it due to me having just coughed up for an Alembic Elan 5 string and being financially short as a consequence (so trades are still out). Was a firm £2600 before (or Euro 3,100 for our continental European BassChat brethren) but I will listen to cash offers reasonably close to this. I am not going to keep bumping this daily but wanted anyone with potential interest to be aware its available.
13. Cracking gig Low End Bee! Dry ice and lasers too - who could want more? Sorry I missed all but the end of Jack's set as I couldn't get there til just after 10. Well played gents

Dangee Feedback

Dan is now the owner of my old punk bass "Sid". Very easy deal, involving meeting on a tube platform (makes a change from car parks for me!) and I will just add to the list of posts above recommending Dan to deal with. Enjoy Sid!
15. Ooops, just pressed the button on this 1992 Alembic Elan 5! Hope to get this by the end of the week. Having failed to sell my AC Willie Weeks maybe not my smartest move but you only live once!
16. Is the OP by any chance Tony Goggle?
17.
A couple from our recent Half moon outing
Short @rse Adam
18. Usually mrs Clarky saying "you were really good tonight. Maybe next time there will be a few more in the audience" I'm not joking
19. Hey elbassisto, if it helps I have placed a link to your ad on the 'Alembic Club' forum
20. I play my 72 Precision at punk gigs. Does that count me in?
21. Very Geddy. Nice! In fact best looking of the three IMHO. Congrats Chris
22. Oh well, I tried Now withdrawn
23. Any last minute offers, oh BC community, before it comes off the FS list at 5pm?
24.
'Escape from Obsession for Men'?
"GAS for men"?
25. "a diluted perfume of slowing ageing lacquer, the original case smell that always seems to linger, and decades-old fags, sweat & alcohol" Calvin Klein should make this and sell it bottles. There'd be plenty of bassists buying it
