  1. I wondered the same. A quick google turned this up
  2. ^^^^ my latest band (goth/post punk) has been a breath of fresh air after playing blues rock/Americana (mainly), hiphop/funk and cowpunk in last five years
  3. Fresh pics, though its a rather gloomy day
  4. Reviving this thread with my recently acquired 1973 4000-to-4001 conversion. Loads of mods (tuners, bridge, bezel, controls and extra pickup) but loving it - even the crudely carved "Crue" in the body! Nice slim neck and ultra low tension TI strings to suit my knackered left hand.
  5. Now £180 plus post if needed (call it £5)
  6. Bump. New price: £950 plus delivery at cost if I swap for nickel rounds, £975 plus delivery at cost if it stays with the TI flats. Sorry, no offers and no trades
  7. OP last visited on July 19, so I think you would be lucky Karl
  8. In response to a PM, sorry no trades as I have a Bassrig (pictured) and all the pedals I need. Sale only
  9. Bump. I will include post within UK in my £195 price
  10. Returning to Judas Priest (see 'Breaking the lav'): Beyond the Realms of Neath Right Crawler Turbot Lover Electric Rye The Zipper Metal Rods
  11. Continuing with ABBA Waterpoo I have a bream
  12. BOC - Don't fear the keaper Bon Jovi - Livin' on a Player AC/DC - Chunderstruck Judas Priest - Breaking the lav
  13. Back up FS. Took my Ric to rehearsal yday and it worked out superbly, so I am back to thinning the herd. Hence my superb condition, lightweight Jazz is now available again. No trades, straight sale thanks!
  14. Lovely valve driven OD/preamp pedal with DI. Boxed but no instructions sheet (easily downloadable). The newer 9V version with power supply. In good but not pristine condition. I have just fitted a brand new JJ valve (£25) so it is good to go for a long time. Post at cost on top or meet SW13 Lkndon
  15. Don met me at a typically BC strange place, under the watchful gaze of Holly Willoughby's security guard, to buy my JMJ Mustang. The whole deal was transacted smoothly and in a thoroughly friendly manner. Can't wish for more than that! Enjoy the bass, Don!
  16. I felt very similarly during lockdown and again after May 2022, when my main band went on an extended hiatus for various health/other reasons (not me, for clarity). I have reinvigorated myself - and started buying/selling basses again, haha - by joining a band from a different genre that I am used to (goth/post punk) but which I have fond memories of from my youth. Found them on "Joinmyband" website. Maybe a short break is in order and then check out the 'musician wanted' sites and try something a little different, Andy?
  17. My main band leader over the last 10-15 years, Wily Bo Walker, has something of the Tom Waits about his gravelly vocals. We even recorded a cover of TW's "Yesterday is Here" a few years back, with yours truly on double bass. Enjoy (I hope); https://wilybo.bandcamp.com/track/yesterday-is-here-its-been-a-wonderful-life-reprise
  18. Ok, will throw in both sets of strings for the £850. Courier, if needed, extra and at cost
  19. https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2023/10/04/ashdown-introduces-the-pro-di-pedal/ The webpage from Ashdown: https://ashdownmusic.com/products/ashdown-pro-di-1 Its on 3 week pre-order at Bax for £239. Its entering a pretty crowded space but that price seems competitive (more so than the £299 on Ashdown website)
  20. I was thinking the K&K Pure Archtop and with foam f hole inserts it could be the answer? However, I do realise it would be riskier than a regular electric pickup and you may end up with some expensive parts to move on if feedback remains an issue
  21. The best approximation I have had to a DB sonically was with Rob Allen basses which have a piezo pickup in the bridge and La Bella black nylon strings. Maybe a quality piezo is what you need, rather than a regular electric pickup?
