1. No offers yet on eBay so still willing to pull listing for any interested BCer. Would cut to £400 posted via economy (48 hour) delivery service. If these amps had the UK awareness of say Barefaced someone would have snapped my hand off for this already!
2. I will drop him a FB message
3. Hey Greg, really like your track Up Quark. Wonderful vibe and super playing from everyone
4.
You look too polite for that band. A bit like that bloke out of the moody blues (sorry)
Maybe thats why I play double bass in a "gypsy pop" band full of ... ahem ... not-unattractive women now
5. [sub]My old cookie monster band - a bit different to All The Queens Ravens![/sub] [sub]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uI3OsjAAIc[/sub]
6. This is a useful post by Gareth Hughes http://basschat.co.uk/topic/127187-bass-advice/page__view__findpost__p__1162844
7. Dan bought a custom SFx overdrive pedal off me. All good (great comms, fast payment)
8.
I heard you were pushed.
I did wonder about my snowboarding partner, Colonel Mustard and his insistence on carrying some lead piping
9.
They sound interesting, where can you buy them?
£129 at Stringsdirect http://www.stringsdi...nd-double-bass/ , so up there price-wise with good quality steels
10. Off to evilBay . Will of course pull listing (if no offers received by then) to sell to a BCer and would entertain offers just below my indicated BC sale price http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130857908322?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649
11. Cheers Ad, sorry I couldn't make the Jetsonics' Ealing gig but I was throwing myself off the edge of a mountain in Switzerland at the time
12. Tis indeed Londinium, South-West Londinium to be precise. No worries!
13. Hi all. My lot, All The Queens Ravens, headline at the Half Moon on Thursday 14th March. Should be onstage at about 10pm or shortly thereafter for a 45 minute set (there's a strict policy for the music to stop by 11pm). Would be great to see some of the BC gang there :-)
14. I had the exact same Eko bass and used this pickup, the K&K pure floating bridge which slots neatly under the bridge. http://www.jp-guitars.co.uk/sales/pickups_and_amplification/kandk_acoustic_guitar_pickups_archtop.htm As a word of warning, I found feedback to be an issue at higher volumes. This can be dealt with by getting a cover made for the sound hole or by putting something inside the body that stops the top resonating so much (eg, a blow up beach ball, that's not a joke by the way). Feedback won't be an issue at low volumes, it all depends what you intend to use the bass for. Check out this old thread http://basschat.co.uk/topic/146036-are-acoustic-basses-especially-feedback-prone/page__p__1306035__hl__eko__fromsearch__1#entry1306035
15. Off to evilBay If anyone is interested in this super cab, please contact me asap and I will entertain offers just below my BC-advertised price. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130857908322?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649
16. Back in Blighty bump for tomorrow's gig. Headlining at 6pm, how civilised!
17. Final bump (yes I know I said this once before!) Check possible trades in earlier post if cash sale not possible - would possibly add other lightweight superquality 1x12 (Epifani, Bergantino etc) to trade list
18. Thanks Ed. They are indeed fabulous cabs, just not well known this side of the pond.
19. B*gger. Thanks for chasing up Silvia
20. Bought a set of DB strings off Greg. All good
21. OK, no real interest in this super-quality, hi-fi cab so far ... so one last bump before I give up and try at a later date
22.
They rather are, aren't they? Puts me in mind of National Health for some reason. Any more of that sort of thing? (I could only find 'Reversal' which was similarly engrossing). Pete.
FYI, Kev Hopper's pre-Prescott stuff is all downloadable for free here: http://www.spoombung.co.uk/ I recommend Whispering Foils, third from top
23. Unfortunately still at work so can't get there in time Hope gig went well Kev and I hope to make one of your next gigs instead
