Wireless home practice with: Headphone amp + iPad.
AlexDelores replied to Pestie's topic in General Discussion
I use the Nux Mighty Plug also. It’s absolutely brilliant to just pick the bass up and have a play. But, I must confess I wish it could send out to wireless headphones as it is frustrating getting tangled up in the headphone wire. -
I did wonder how he’s getting away with being so close to the originals. I know nothing about the legalities of this stuff mind.

No idea, not cheap I’d imagine as I believe everything is handmade.

Means nothing to me as I’m not massively interested in Grabbers. But, this seems pretty cool from Decibel and something I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone else do. I’m sure this will tick a lot of boxes for many. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DHkBcRLJcaO/?igsh=bjVpNjc0bncyYXdy

What's your fantasy Lotto jackpot bass gear shopping list?
AlexDelores replied to Painy's topic in General Discussion
After the Birmingham bass show my dream bass list became a bit longer. Top of it now would be a Manton SS Ecko MK1 hollow body. Absolutely blew me away when I tried it! https://www.instagram.com/p/DFFJIt0O7MM/?igsh=eXkwcjZ3d2FqN2tk I’d also get myself a ACG Medium Scale 5er.. And, I’d probably take the van and go and spend a day at The Vintage Bass Room! -
Last nights wedding was good fun. decent crowd albeit a small number of people. Struggled a bit with IEMs though. It’s a bit of a rubbish room anyway but we’ve added some vocal reverb pedals into the setup to allow us to talk to the crowd easier in between songs. It makes the vocals sound great in our IEMs but for some reason they’re sitting so far in front of everything in the mix that it looses everything else a bit. Bass was a bit lost in the mix. Need to spend a bit more time in soundcheck getting the in ear mix right next time I think!

Tom recently bought a pedal from me. Super friendly chap that made the transaction very easy! A pleasure to deal with, thanks Tom!

I tried a Dingwall at the weekend and have to admit that I didn’t really enjoy or feel comfortable with the fanned frets. I don’t doubt it’s something I could get used to, but out of the gate i didn’t like it. Especially when trying to slap. I found the right hand felt like it was floating in space with the angle at the bottom of the neck… That said, my mate tried one and loved it so much he went home and ordered one. Each to their own. You can always return it if it’s not your thing but you won’t know until you give one a bash.

Yeah it is! That’s great, thank you 🙏

Hey all, I’ve got an issue with my Squier Jaguar. It had a loose jack socket and I’ve accidentally twisted the wireless while it was inside and it’s broken this cable off… I’ve never touched pickups or electrics on a bass before but I’d quite like to try and fix this myself as it’s a pretty cheap non gigging bass and, well I need to start somewhere… It looks like this little white cable is soldered from the jack socket to the pot that’s marked… Am I correct or have I got this completely wrong? Also, would I better stripping it off the control plate or just resoldering it in sitchu? Thanks in advance Alex

Very true. In honesty I thought it was a very nice bass. But, it didn’t feel like I was playing a £2k instrument. It felt no more inspiring than playing my Fender Mustang. Which, is a lovely bass to play. But is around 1/4 of the price. I also think the set up wasn’t amazing on the specific bass I played, even though it was on the Sandberg stand.

Crazy, my mate was trying out some Dingwals and I had a play on a 6 string. Sheldon was helping us out. Until I read your post, I didn’t realise that he owned the company 😂 Was hoping to catch Dave but didn’t get chance. -
Funnily enough I tried my first ever Sandberg today at the Bass show and I was actually Surprisingly underwhelmed. But, it was during the amp less period so it was unplugged. Perhaps It’s unfair to judge it on this basis. But, it didn’t feel incredibly inspiring to noodle on.

Really good day. Nice to catch a few of you there today. Thanks to @walshy for letting play a couple of very, very nice P basses. Bass of the day was @Manton Customs short scale beaut. Very impressive! Time to save some pennies I think! Also pretty blown away by the AC guitars basses as well as meeting them both. Another highlight was catching Phil Mann trying out a couple of Anaconda basses and having a little chat. Superb player a lovely sounding basses! -

Just landed here! What and what stand is it and I can try and grab some. -
Actually, I now realise mine is a milestone 3 also not 2! 😂

The first bass I owned was a Peavey Milestone 2 which I still have. For a budget beginner pack bass it’s cracking! Funnily enough I’ve been listening to a band called Microwave a lot recently and really like his bass tone. I realised yesterday morning that he plays an old Peavey!
