1. you can add a 'my band' tab via reverbnation which will then have audio/videos/gig dates etc whatever you put on it... having said that, mine did mysteriously disappear from my profile recently. Was ok when it was there and working though. c
2. incidentally... what the hell have myspace done recently?! my page was nicely laid out with some decent subtle graphics, header image, colour scheme etc but now since myspace's latest 'improvements' its turned into a bog standard profile page which doesn't seem to be very customisable, and even more of a nightmare to navigate and add stuff than it used to be... i know most people have turned their back on myspace now anyway but it was always handy for easily posting music, videos, gigs etc but now they've completely screwed it up!!! peace c
3. I got some done last year as was playing a few decent venues with decent bands so thought may as well.... got them from vistaprint and free apart from the postage.. so 200 cards for about a fiver.. (incidentally - ignore the fact the my website is pointing to a myspace page... a temporary measure!!) peace c
4. haha... that Highway to Hell is just soooooo bad!!!

6. they have a jazz club here in Lowestoft every month so not far from you, and the next one may be of interest as its a Charles Mingus evening: http://www.milestonesjazzclub.co.uk/ peace c
7. damn! just what i'm looking for but as always, bad timing moneywise! have a bump anyhoo and if things change i'll let you know! c
8. cheers for the replies.... normally i will drop everything to do gigs as band has always come first and i have put myself out for it in the past on several occasions but at the moment i'm so busy i really do need to keep working and not take a few hours out of my day to do this. and yes, i imagine there will be lots of unneccesary hanging around once there too. i cant see that it'll be good exposure or anything for us either - its not been done through our manager. the charity is not particularly close to the guitarist or anything, i think its more the fact that his friend is organising it - originally he was going to go along by himself and just jam with said friends band on a few songs - not sure why this changed to wanting the whole band there - all seems to be a bit of an afterthough and just squeezing us in the bill for the sake of it. ah well.... see what happens i guess!... i know the guitarist has tried getting a dep in but had no luck so far - should have asked on here maybe!! cheers c
9. Had a text from guitarist/band leader the other day saying we've got a short notice gig this coming Thursday am i free?.. so, yep, i'm free no prob...whats the gig? says I... Turns out though that apparently its a charity do with lots of bands on..but.. its an hour and a half drive away and they only want us to play 3 songs! Originally the guitarist said that he himself wasn't bothered about doing it - what do the rest of the band think?...so I spoke to the keyboard player and he agreed with me that it seemed a bit of a waste of time and money (i'm snowed under with work at the mo and could really use the time more constructively staying here doing some work!) plus i don't think it'd really be doing the band any favours. I replied saying that I would do it if push came to shove but would really prefer not to... but now it seems that its a big deal and the guitarist seems to have got the hump big time! grrrr. i don't think i'm being unreasonable... what do you think? seems alot of effort for 3 songs!!! peace C
10. which all goes to show that one gig is worth a hundred rehearsals!
11.
Fooled around a bit with my Emma discumbobulator pedal and tried to play the Superstition-theme... not without mistakes but it gives an idea (it made the cat run away)..
likes this

14. get three fingers going on the right hand and you'll have no problem! aside from that its practice!
15. I've done hundreds of gigs and back in the day I never used to get nervous at all, but the last few years its started getting to me really badly despite the fact that now I'm a much more accomplished player and rarely make mistakes. I think maybe in my youthful days I didn't care what people thought so much and had a good deal more self confidence in general, but now, being the ripe old age of 41 I'm just more aware and concerned about what people think of me. (i'm insecure at the best of times!!) Normally after a couple of songs i'm fine and get right into it, but its all the waiting around between soundcheck and gig time that gets to me. My nerves are always much worse at smaller gigs too for some reason. The bigger the gig, the fewer the nerves. I think this is maybe down to being more closely scrutinised at the smaller gigs and feeling much better about myself when playing bigger (ie more successful) gigs. peace c
