2. yeah, i'm toying with the idea of selling mine, but know i'll regret it if i do! c
3. yeah i'm much the same - i've got tons of ideas for small sections of songs etc but creating a whole song is a different thing - for me it just takes time until i get some sections that work together then i'll join it all up into a whole song. peace c
4. i think with starting any tribute band its all got to revolve around the singer and who he/she looks/sounds like then go from there. peace c
5. i would imagine that not one person started out playing bass with the lofty ambition to be playing covers in pubs! However things change and personally I'd sooner be gigging with a (decent) covers band than not gigging at all. A few years ago i started my own covers band playing the songs i want, in the venues i want, when i want and its all good. The gigs are much less hassle and you get paid reasonably. i do still do originals in another band though and gig all over the country in (mainly) decent venues and on decent bills so that keeps my 'artistic integrity' going. peace c
6. PM replied...
I slap either between the humbucker and neck, or in the scallops (very hard to do!) or in the gap between the P-pup and the humbucker, only takes a bit of practise, kinda like slapping a double Hum musicman i would KILL for this bass, depends how much you sell it for if you do! though i'll be broke and i need a 5 string =/
yeah can slap it ok, just a question of correct right hand positioning... and who needs 5 strings! its got the d-tuner! peace c
7. loving the 'shitwolf'!! if i get some money in this week i may very well be tempted with that! c
8. I believe this is the older MK1 version of this classic full range cab. 400 watt, 15" speaker 10" speaker + adjustable horn. (10" speaker non original but professionally fitted) - good condition for age (the logo badge is a bit scraped up is all) great sounding cab, not too heavy either! £150 collected. peace c
9. reasonable offers accepted, maybe trades for interesting bass stuff type bump
10. bump for price drop! set this up to demo for someone today.. sounds really good with the bi-amp! and loud!
11. Well, couldn't afford it at all but I was badly in need of a new rig and as I'm currently rocking it up in a retro blues/funk kinda band I thought I'd have a change from my normal rack setup with lots of flashy lights and go for something with a bit more of an old school vibe. Tracking down the Classic 4x10 cab was a bit tricky, they seem very hard to find, but managed to source one at a good price. Gonna give it a damn good try out at rehearsal tonight. The trusty old Precision is making a comeback too! peace C
12.
I've got a passive MIM Precision Special Deluxe but you aint having it! These are the best I reckon for your price range. MIA electrics and pups. They're a quite a bit rarer than the active ones though.
I have one of these and its rapidly becoming my main bass - but they don't do the passive ones anymore and even secondhand they seem quite hard to find as I want another myself. I'd be tempted with the Lakland Duck Dunn too if I had some spare money. peace c

14.
It might be my eyes, but it looks a little dark for LPB.
agreed. nice though!
15. I have never, ever seen the point of personalized number plates, bass related or not.. our guitarist has G16 GTR btw
16. Trace Elliot GP11 MkV preamp - 2u rackmount although for some reason the mounting holes were originally in a strange place so its had couple of extra holes drilled - condition is not too bad and I have used this for loads of gigs over the last few years. However, of late it has occasionally started making a buzzing/humming noise. Not sure what this is, normally lasts a few minutes then stops by itself and the unit still works fine otherwise when its doing it and you can't hear it over the band or anything. Can go several gigs without doing it at all and seems completely random. If I was gonna keep this I'd take it to a tech and get it looked at but I've just bought a new head and really need some funds so here it is... £80 ? cheers c
17. bump for a bit more info and another photo! c
18. Ampeg AP-3550 mono power amp - 200 watts @ 8 ohm, 350 watts @ 4 ohm.. pretty good condition, some scuffing on rack handles as per the norm - very reliable, have been gigging with it for years. Manual is here: AP-3550 from Ampeg website £200 collection preferred as is quite hefty! Will also consider trades on Ashdown ABM or Classic cabs. cheers C
19. Ok, am in the process of having a change round gear wise so am selling this beast! I bought it off ebay a few years ago purely for the cabs so the head has seen zero use from me but all tested and working fine. Marshall 3540 bass head - 400 watts, bi-ampable - the metal fascia panel of this is lightly pitted/and very lightly rusted but all works fine and a good clean would probably do it the world of good! Its basically been sat in my garage for the last few years, only venturing out occasionally as a backup. (One of the knobs in the pic has the silver end piece missing but I'm pretty sure thats knocking about in my car somewhere so should be able to find it!) Marshall 4x10 bass cab - 8 ohm, slightly tatty (few rips/gaffa taped bits of vinyl covering) as has been heavily gigged but again all working fine and dandy and never let me down. Marshall 1x15 bass cab - 8 ohm and in similar condition to the 4x10. All in all this is a road worn, gigged rig that has seen a fair bit of use (the cabs in particular). However, its a lot of bass rig and looks/sounds great on stage. It comes with the original manual (which you may need for the various different ways of patching in the bi-amp business) and its yours for £325. Local pickup only as its obviously too big and heavy to post/courier. Any questions PM me. Will consider trades on Ashdown ABM or Classic cabs. cheers C
