    For every croaker, there's an artist still at the top of their game. I know people who've been to see Nik Kershaw, Peter Gabriel, Howard Jones, Level 42, Midge Ure, Haircut 100 and Simple Minds recently. All from the 80s and earlier, and still sounding great. Were those artists that don't sound good any good in the first place? Anyway, if people still get pleasure from watching them, then that's really all that matters.

    If you don't like them don't go and watch them. They give people a lot of pleasure. I guess it's nostalgia.

    I think they've been performing pretty much constantly for the past couple of years. I'm not surprised they sound polished.

    I'm not a Stones fan, but I think it's fantastic that they're still going and bringing pleasure to the many people who like them. If you don't like something then don't listen to it.

    Evri will take a booking for a parcel that’s too big. They’ll then try and charge you extra for handling it. You have to remember that most Evri drivers are using their own cars and tend to deliver small items.

    These are very nice, foldable close-back headphones. They were bought new in January, and have been used for no more than about an hour. I wanted a pair of closed-back headphones for work.     Never used. I bought it about a year ago. It’s the short size that I had professionally shortened. Not because I wanted to look like Mark King, simply because I don’t like my bass hanging around my knees. I find the Mono straps to be very long. Fully extended now it measures 98cm.

    It’s better - in my opinion- to know your notes, scales, chords etc. If I’m practicing a scale I don’t go root then up a tone and then another etc. I’ll play the root note then the 2nd might be an octave away. I’ll play the notes in random areas. This I think helps you know the scale and your way around the instrument.

    iTunes doesn’t exist anymore, it’s now Apple Music . You can still create playlists, though you would need a Mac.

    My BMus course and every course I’ve taught on have made a point of instilling in the students the requirement to have a portfolio of skills, and teaching those skills. On my BMus I learned to compose and arrange string, brass and small orchestra parts. We deconstructed and rearranged songs, changing their genre. We learned the ins and outs of producing using a DAW. Performance-wise the emphasis was on our own instrument. We also did vocals, percussion and piano. In the final year we could choose whether to do events management or study for a Rock School instructor qualification. So, a whole gamut of skills. The course I’m currently teaching on is very similar, though it also has a big element of live sound production, something my BMus didn’t have. Where I work has its own professional standard live music venue.

    I did my music degree in 2012/15. My main instrument was bass but I kind of got sidetracked and fell in love with the production/composition side of my course. So much so I did a masters followed by a PhD in composition. I now teach music production, composition and music business at Level 3 and at degree level. From September I’m going to be teaching some performance courses too. I absolutely love my job. I can only do it because I went to university. If I hadn’t gone then I probably wouldn’t have discovered my love for producing. Courses also equip you with a lot of so called ‘soft skills’ that employers really love. You make invaluable contacts, both through your tutors and fellow students.

    Well, as long as people are foolish enough to pay for these scams, then artists or whoever is responsible for them will continue to run them.
