LOVELY! what is the nut width out of interest, 44mm?
Ta! Shamelessly stolen from this very forum: "Vintage correct 1 and 5/8 of an inch which comes out at 41.27mm at the nut. In comparison the current US vintage reissue has a a nut width of 44.1mm and the american standard 41.3mm." Edit: Tons of info on JV Fenders here: http://www.21frets.com -
Now sold - thanks. I picked this up a few months ago, and it's a lovely bass, and in amazing condition. However, it's too close to my '73 P bass (both tsb / rosewood) - and in truth, they're pretty much identical basses. I'll never sell the '73, so this one is on the block instead... It's a beautiful looking and sounding bass, in great condition for the age. We did a blind sound test between this, my '73 P bass, and an original '68 P bass at rehearsals recently, and nobody could tell the difference... I picked it up from here in the summer, at a bargain price, and I'm happy to pass on that bargain as long as it stays in our BC community. After paying for the bass, same day courier (part of the conditions of me getting it for the bargain price was it had to go immediately), a set of TI flats, a pro setup and some work on the jack (which was crackly), it owes me close to £700. I'm asking for £600, collected, or couriered at cost. I'm just off j.12 of the M40 (between Leamington & Banbury), and you're welcome to come along, have a coffee and a play on it. No PayPal please, and no trades - I've overspent horribly on watches & art work recently (first world problems, eh?), so the family will be eating Tesco Value beans in the new year unless I get some cash in It didn't come with a case or gig bag, but I can find a gig bag for it, or supply a Gator hard case for an extra £35. Any questions, just ask, Tredders
Very tempting, but maybe not quite as compact as I need. Seems like a quality combo, GLWTS.
I had one of these (regret selling it), and whilst they're not tiny in size, don't let that put you off - they're incredibly light and a very easy one man lift.

I've known Rik "in the real world" for ages (and coincidentally through sports photography, not music), so it's nice to see him on here. One word of warning, though. He's still got a number of those weird little shortscale 6 string things in his possession. Once a guitard, always a guitard Welcome mate - look forward seeing you spending a fortune on the sales forums, like the rest of us!

I had the SE530's and loved them (for listening to music, not for monitoring). However, I lost them a couple of months ago, and replaced them with Westone 3's, which sound even better to my ears. I'm told that the Shures are quite neutral, whereas the Westones are tuned for listening to music, but I don't know how true that it.

Another vote for TI flats. I think I've got them on 4 of my basses, and anything else just feels "wrong" now. Love 'em.

Top man! Really good transaction - and very quick delivery. What more could you ask for? Cheers Mark.

Met up with Mark and did a trade deal (my Dean Pace for his Zoom B3 and a bit of cash). Top man - drove down to my office, and we chatted for 20 minutes, and both went away happy (I certainly did). Really good guy, who I would happily deal with again in a heartbeat. Cheers mate!

Quick clip of the band from their opening gig last night. Not great sound quality (well it isn't on my laptop), but you'll get an idea.
Are you reading my mind??? This would be my ultimate impulse buy/trade of something I didn't need or really want.. Hopefully you'll jump in before I do..
An impulse but on BassChat? You'd never catch me doing that! Ahem... Anyway, I've agreed a trade with Mark (Bassulike66), so it's no longer for sale. Thanks for the interest and PM's chaps.
Tredders.....I found your post hilarious mate, not taking the mick or owt just what you wrote....we've no doubt all been there, but best of luck with your trade or sale.....Cheers Bob.
Believe me, I've got a track record for this. I've got away fairly lightly this time, though. I usually buy something, buy some new expensive strings, have a pro setup done, and then decide it's not what I wanted and sell at a loss. At least this time I should break even

I bought this last month from Outspoon, and it's become abundantly clear that it was another one of my hair-brained purchases that will never get used. Here's the original sales thread: http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 Aside from me playing very poor renditions of Love Cats and Walk On the Wild Side, it's not been used at all. I got it for the bargain price of £150 (and paid for my own courier), so it's up for the same. I can courier it at cost, or you can collect at home (j.12 M40 near Gaydon) or from my office in Solihull. Trade wise, I don't have anything specific in mind, but I'll no doubt be tempted by something that I have no need for, and will never use, so try me with what you've got (doesn't even have to be musically related). Having said that, I wouldn't mind looking at effects pedals, or a multi-fx unit. Any questions, just ask. Tredders
That's pretty cool - did you sell it to him? I'm assuming he didn't steal it :-D
Nah, he didn't steal it - he's a friend, and has a long term love affair with Telecaster basses! I'm looking forward to hearing the new band - should be great.
-
Strong rumours he'll be using my '73 Telecaster bass for the tour, too
-
Beware of this guy. He sold me a Dean Pace EUB at a cracking price, and then had the cheek to offer me an acoustic at such a bargain price, I ended up buying that too! Joking aside, really nice guy to deal with, and I've never received anything packaged up as well as the two he sent me. Shining example of what our little community is all about.

Lakland Bob Glaub USA in Candy Apple Red <<<< SOLD >>>>
tredders replied to Platypus's topic in Basses For Sale
That one now resides with me. It's a great bass! Do you still have my old CIJ 70s p ?
You have it now? It's a beaut. The CIJ 70's P bass was traded for a Jack Casady, which in turn I traded (with a Mike Dirnt P bass) for a MM Big Al. I then sold that, and bought back Casady, which I've subsequently sold again! It would be quicker for me just to throw money down a drain, I think. Apologies to the OP for going off topic. I would love this bass - always wanted to try a US Bob Glaub and it's a great colour, too. -
That's a beaut! Very interested to see what you think about it - it's definitely on my list at the moment.

Can't help you, I'm afraid. Mine's a '73, so different style to yours.
