1. cant speak highly enough of my Squier vm jazz, ive upgraded the pickups to nordstands and have a Kiogon (basschats own) tone circuit which lets me have different tone setting for each pickup. all in about 450 quid? and for me its a beast of a bass! andy
2.
Hi Andy. I played them together at the weekend. One is a 12 Ohm, the other is a 4 Ohm. Played together, at a private party with 200 or so rowdy rugby club people, they were just too loud. It meant that I couldn't get the RH750 volume knob on more than 2 - which makes it borderline cut out. Might be different on a big stage, but way too loud as they were. The problem is, that if I have them both converted to 12 Ohm, then one of them isn't loud enough on its own. Lozz's post earlier on piqued my interest in that I see you can get a box or lead which means you can run cabs like this in serial. So, if I get them both converted to 4 Ohm (or the one that isn't at least) then I can run the pair at 8 Ohms together. I might also start using a smaller amp unless the room is very, very big.
thats promising! as id want to get 2 4 ohms to use as a 2 ohm load into my ctm, will see if i can work this out after i get a tax return. andy
3. how loud are the 2 retros? do they need a big head? have a nice tax return coming soon and thinking a couple of these might be cool but the ctm-100 being 100w would this be as loud as my 810? andy
4.
I'd highly recommend it. It's been my favourite bass chorus for a long time and I've used loads over the years. Very open and deep and doesn't seem to pump the bass in and out like most do. Tap tempo is really useful too. It has an input and output level so works well with dirt. Some settings are a bit hissy but that's bucket brigade for you. The chase bliss warped vinyl should be much the same in a smaller box. The minifooger version should be worth a try too.
i think when the tax return comes back i might just have to pull the trigger on this, i do like the small minifoogers but i kinda want the chorus and flanger, and the extra control that comes from the cluster flux does make it more appealing. andy
5. I recorded using my old tb1000 without a cab connected, without any issues as its a class d It doesn't need a load to run, valve power sections need a load but this is only a valve pre. Andy
6. if it has the brains of the new whammy's then it should be really accurate, but might be easier to drop tune the bass. and capo up if you need to play something in E standard andy
7. i use two diago power supplies to power my board, one would be enough but went with two to split the load and also as i use alot of dirt pedals wanted to reduce the risk of noise. andy
8. indeed i have, very nice, more fuzz than drive, but lots of filth and no loss of low end. andy
9. hey guys anyone done or know where to find a decent demo for one of these? thinking about pulling the trigger on one and can only find guitar demos which sound cool but wondering if anyone has used one of these with fuzz or dirt. and how'd you find it? andy
10. still up for a south west bash, bristol is a bit far for me to come as its about 4 hrs drive, but still up for an exeter bash for sure andy

14.
All the fuzz/dirt on Failure - Fantastic Planet. So many amazing tonez.
the reason i have the heliotropic! sick band failure!
15. depends if you want clean octave up? what are you going to use this for? pog is very digital and clean, you could try and look at an cog effects t-65 which has an effects loop to blend dirt pedals or other effects in with the octave, but the octave up is dirty and more to fill out the sound a bit more. andy

18. only good things to say about my esp, awesome bass and looks alot more pricey than it is, pluss the active eq is really good for getting alot of sounds out of the bass! it will also take random tunings, mine has a 175 low e for god sake! andy
19. made a compilation of all three tracks we managed to record from our set. https://www.youtube....h?v=yfIWz6EMmuc

This will be my 7th pedal from them when it arrives. Still yet to hear if anyone else on this board has given any of them a go? 21. heres the pic as promised andy
22. hate to say it but sounds like you have tried to come up with a solution to a problem that never existed. to me if you want to go straight into a pa then get a preamp with a di like an vt bass or mxr m80 or sansamp, and di from that. with two pedals you could get an orange ish tone, say a sansamp and something to model an orange crunch, like a eqd monarch. andy
23.
I love the reverb Justin Chancellor uses on The Grudge when the song drops down to just bass At 1:19 https://youtu.be/EiR1hmpk-x4 Also his use of whammy? Wah? At 9:33 in this, not sure but awesome. https://youtu.be/VZXJLQntCP0
love that part in Rosetta! most tool stuff has really good use of effects, for me it schism or parabola which are my faves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bKy57OeNU8 the start of parabola is awesome! and when its getting real heavy at the end the bass is filth! andy
