Post your pedal board - Basschat style!!
0175westwood29 replied to dudewheresmybass's topic in Effects
latest board layout, had its first play tonight! so much quieter with the new gigrig power supply and isolated units, so people know the quartermaster is used for tuning and selecting between my blended dirt pedals. recently got myself a few of the HufGlow picks aswell as a few others the drop and a jazz 3 style one. the jazz 3 is a jazz three type pick nothing really to shout about, but the others are a crazy the Drop must be atleast 5mm thick in the middle but the tone is meaty with it, a dif attack alot less clank than my norm dunlop triangle pick, but the attack is still there very cool. the hufglow's are awesome got an attack and a standard shape, they are crazy bright and just look really cool but they also sound awesome the standard being thicker than the attack is slightly fatter with less attack but the attack has a similar feel to the drop shape but with a bit less lowend. How do you DI an Orange Micro Terror
0175westwood29 replied to MarkG3's topic in Accessories and Misc
the speaker out would be to much for the di, would be at risk of breaking something, you'd have to get a di that has speaker in and out on it so it goes inbetween the head and cab, then you'll get the crunch from the terror. andy -
I thought this was a thread about Jurassic World. Shows how cool I am.
well they are loving the free ads at the min

my Fave that ive found and ive looked at alot! is the mxr sub machine, awesome fuzz, a 1 octave down that tracks well and you even get an octave up for a really brutal sound! others that i like are the death by audio Apocalypse, that pedal is well worth a look! andy
I like it, bit like Giraffes? Giraffes! but way more chilled. 8 string bass gives it the lightest slight hint of nuclear rabbit too.
cool a few more bands to checkout, they are my fave band atm! by a mile, they go from grove to heavy to classical! andy

Anyone got an SFX MicroThumpinator I could try please
0175westwood29 replied to Chezz55's topic in Effects
ive got one underneath my board, its there as security, i use a lot of octaves and bass heavy fuzzes and it can go a bit crazy so for that it just stops the cab and amp trying to reproduce sounds it just cant! theres no obvious loss of low end at all either. andy -
Have they ever played in the UK ?
Nope, they are looking to come over, but they play the subway in nyc and are just starting a local U.S. tour they aren't very big at all

Holy f&(k there awesome on record but live they were just brilliant! And really nice guys aswell gave me loads of free merch and also had a really cool chat. Check them out on band camp and YouTube! You Bred Raptors Just so you know what's coming they are a three piece 8 string bass, Cello and drums! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4maG9y9zyTE Andy
I use mine on one of my guitar pedalboards: However I did use it for an online Motown demo, through the preamp of a Streamliner. Because there is a mahoosive circuit board inside. The audio circuit is all discrete components (i.e. no ICs) and is based on the Urei 1176, which was a biggish rack-mount unit. (The ICs you can see are there to drive the LED ladder.) Having the knobs so big makes it much easier to set up accurately than, say, the MXR Bass Compressor.
Yeh it's quite the circuit board!! Demo being recorded tomoz so will post a link here when it's online!

Do you compromise "your sound" for a decent mix with band?
0175westwood29 replied to Iheartreverb's topic in Effects
for me i have sounds that i like but most important for me is getting a sound that works with the band, i like to let the guitars sort out a sound there happy with together i then fill in around them and take into account i need to allow room for the drummer. for me and the band i play in i cant really work out a sound at home i can put something as a start point but i will always adjust things at practice to get the right sound, for me thats not sacrificing that just doing whats best for the music andy -
i plan on doing a review as there doesnt seem to be one of this pedal done with a bass. andy

-
well i took the plunge today and ordered my self a cali 76 comp from origin! cant wait to try and squeeze it onto my board. andy
-
I would say it would work but normally its delays and reverbs that get put thru the loop rather than fuzz/overdrive Andy
