1. hi guys in the market for a few new pedals so looking to move this one on. its a very simple one knob overdrive/boost, nothing fancy gives a little grit to a clean but doesnt get really dirty, i use it to push my valve amp over the edge or on top of another drive as it adds a nice bit of top end that helps a dirt sound cut through on a bass imo. always used on a pedal board, very good nick. looking for £55 plus postage for this little beauty! 2. Mmmmm im not sure about the blower box, it sounds good, but even tho i can tell that the bass is huge, its the boosted bass which isnt the same as clean blended bass if that makes sense.
3.
The Blower Box doesn't have a clean blend, but has ridiculous amounts of bass boost on tap from its EQ!
cool ill check it out!
4.
you sounded great last night Andy. i used to have an original RAT pedal, loved the distorted sound, just lost all the bottom end so got rid of it in the end. Though have sounded a few which have been modded for bass good luck with the search, Nick
cheers nick! so did you man!! will check out the blower box danny, i think i might need to have something with a clean blend, but from having a heliotropic i know the fuzzrocious pedal keep alot of lows. andy
5. Evening all, having a bit of a change around on the board as i do every sort of 4 months, and im thinking of getting something based on a Rat circuit, have the original and it was good but rather than grab one of those i fancy getting a newer clone with more options. so basically the two i know of are the Rat tail and Rat king by Fuzzrocious and im pretty sure the cog effects TK-421X is based on a rat anyone owned both? or have an idea how these would work with my ctm-100 and if they play nice with other pedals such as octaves and filters? andy
6. we use the full live rig, just watch the volume, but it helps get levels and sounds a bit better for us as we all use valve heads and effects so using a different set up can change things a lot! andy
7. we played the final slot at an all day rock metal show in plymouth, was a cool show sadly we went on about half hour late due to a few problems with bands before us but that cant be helped, even tho alot of ppl left which as we all know can be a real mood killer! the ppl who stayed made noise and we played pretty well. plus i got to use the di on my ctm for the first time really happy with how it sounded as normally i like to mic the bass cab, but what with time delays etc wasnt practical, but it sounded good. andy
8. hi guys love this pedal but its not being used as much as it should be on my board so time to send this awesome thing to an owner who will use it all the time! £150 plus postage. http://s22.postimg.o...7ib5/image1.jpg
9. any interest as i need this gone andy
10. Depends, if you want the wah in the di then it needs to go before the m80. Otherwise it will only be going through the amp.
11. death by audio now sold, so just the devi ever godzilla now.
12. I couldne wrong but doesn't nolly from periphery use a b7k for something like this?
13. Death by audio on hold. andy
14.
Thanks for the responses all. I will definitely go and demo some amps but with so many options and manufacturers I am trying to narrow the field. I have never heard an Orange bass terror, the name 'Terror' brings aggresive rock sound to mind so I've never considered that!! I'm probably wrong. I have heard a few Mark Bass amps so they are a possibility. There seems to be a lot of love for Tonehammer on the forum would that emulate a clean, warm, creamy, bluesy sound.
Dnt be scared of by the terror in the name well worth a look, Just a thought If you want a lighter valve head give Ashdown a look. Andy
15.
I gotta agree, I think the 2nd album will make or break them. Personally think they should just bite the bullet and get a full time guitar player and/or keys, the extra dynamics will do a world of good for there sound I reckon... much like the synth parts with DFA1979.
Thing is tho where would you fit a guitar in there sound? Stop the octave up bass thing? Then it's not royal blood any more, its a three piece playing standard rock songs, as I'm guessing you would have him just play bass? The sound they want is what they have, The riffs can't be the most complex due to the pitch shifting that's happening. Also of course there singles are stronger than som of the album tracks but I think they are all decent tracks, and I'm not sure I truly understand the comments about tracks sounding the same? I wouldn't say ten ton skeleton sounds like little monster? But anyway i saw in a interview when some one asked where they go from here the singer said " I dnt know more amps? " but he was referring to his own setup not another member. Andy
16. I've been intrigued by these but there just a bit to pricey for me to take a gamble. Andy
17. as wooks said the terror is a bit one trick but its really good at that trick, the dif between the terror and the ad is the weight behind the note, not quite there with the class d, id say best thing is try out a few amps andy
18.
not a practice amp. it is to get pushed/overdriven tones at "reasonable" volumes for recording.
this. it doesnt have the bass end of the larger 100, but sounds very nice, my home practice rig is the ctm 15 with the 212, yes i know major overkill, but when i play live i use an 810 and the 100w. you will not regret getting this head, and it does have a volume control. the plus for me is with my big pedalboard full of fuzz and dirt pedals i need something kinda similar to the 100w to get the setting near before i head to a gig or practice to fine tune, and its gonna be heading into the studio with me very soon! andy
19.
I see. Thanks. I still think £200 is excessive, but i suppose it saves some money on needing a special case for the head for storage. I am very tempted. Is it worth it just for a pracice amp? I do like the thought of trying out a vavle head without spending over a grand to try one.
they are very nice little amps, i got mine with the separate cab as the head comes in a nice padded bag for storage. andy
20. bump can discuss price if your interested? andy
21.
Yep, sounds good to me. Heavy and tight.
thanks man andy
22.
I got told by an engineer at T in the Park they use a secret hidden offstage guitarist. Soured it for me. Unfortunately their 15 minutes of fame are ticking by. One trick sound which is suited to singles or support slots. Watching them play headline shows is a boring experience due to how one dimensional it is.
Would love to see evidence to that? As they obviously do that on every gig! Even the radio shows in the states I'm sorry but the smells like something to me.
