6. So my love of gain means im always looking a dirt pedals and crazy fuzz pedals! well this weekend ive got myself a couple more toys to play with and see how they fair. grabbed a Mr Black " thunderclaw" which is a medium to hi gain overdrive/fuzz and also got myself an mxr "Sub machine", which is basically there "la Machine" with an octave down added which you can run in parallel or in series with the fuzz. should be fun to see if these pedals make the board http://www.mrblackpe...cts/thunderclaw http://www.jimdunlop...ine-octave-fuzz andy
7.
Cool demo - thanks.
thanks man.
8. tracks very well! if you have it on the newer setting, the classic setting is a bit more glitchy. i use mine for an octave up royal blood sound into a guitar amp, and its spot on. andy
9.
Thanks for posting the vid Andy sounds good but still on the fence as I'd also like a Soundblox OFD ... too much choice & too little money
thats always the way andy
10. heres a little demo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-ewOfZ5VfA

13. Ive had my Moog minifooger for about a week now, played a show and thought it about time i made a demo/review video! so here it is, pretty versatile pedal really, a lot of sounds thanks to how the tone and filter controls work. http://www.youtube....h?v=Q1IMWFiLMU8 pretty happy with the sound, andy
14. got it on the board today recorded a quick demo so will hopefully post a link here soon
15.
Another option with octave up is the older Pearl OC-07 - available secondhand.
this is what the t-65 cog pedal is based on, and as above the octave up isnt clean. andy
16. i wnt go to a gig to just be at the venue, but i do go to alot of shows that i think ill like or am gigging with them soon so want to show my face. however you cant complain about people not coming to your show if you wnt go to theres. andy
17. love the ctm-15 its got a much more treble based sound due to the smaller size, but this is ime based from also playing the ctm-100 the 15 sounds really nice, depending on your bass tho will depend wither you will actually be able to get a clean bass tone. andy
18.
Hi all, I spose I could set up something again in ashcott. Fairly equal distant between Bristol and bath, big car park and good beer. Let me know. Jim.
thats closer than i thought id be up for bringing all my stuff for you guys to try, so lots of effects and ashdown bits andy
19. cant speak highly enough of my Squier vm jazz, ive upgraded the pickups to nordstands and have a Kiogon (basschats own) tone circuit which lets me have different tone setting for each pickup. all in about 450 quid? and for me its a beast of a bass! andy
20.
Hi Andy. I played them together at the weekend. One is a 12 Ohm, the other is a 4 Ohm. Played together, at a private party with 200 or so rowdy rugby club people, they were just too loud. It meant that I couldn't get the RH750 volume knob on more than 2 - which makes it borderline cut out. Might be different on a big stage, but way too loud as they were. The problem is, that if I have them both converted to 12 Ohm, then one of them isn't loud enough on its own. Lozz's post earlier on piqued my interest in that I see you can get a box or lead which means you can run cabs like this in serial. So, if I get them both converted to 4 Ohm (or the one that isn't at least) then I can run the pair at 8 Ohms together. I might also start using a smaller amp unless the room is very, very big.
thats promising! as id want to get 2 4 ohms to use as a 2 ohm load into my ctm, will see if i can work this out after i get a tax return. andy
21. how loud are the 2 retros? do they need a big head? have a nice tax return coming soon and thinking a couple of these might be cool but the ctm-100 being 100w would this be as loud as my 810? andy
22.
I'd highly recommend it. It's been my favourite bass chorus for a long time and I've used loads over the years. Very open and deep and doesn't seem to pump the bass in and out like most do. Tap tempo is really useful too. It has an input and output level so works well with dirt. Some settings are a bit hissy but that's bucket brigade for you. The chase bliss warped vinyl should be much the same in a smaller box. The minifooger version should be worth a try too.
i think when the tax return comes back i might just have to pull the trigger on this, i do like the small minifoogers but i kinda want the chorus and flanger, and the extra control that comes from the cluster flux does make it more appealing. andy
23. I recorded using my old tb1000 without a cab connected, without any issues as its a class d It doesn't need a load to run, valve power sections need a load but this is only a valve pre. Andy
24. if it has the brains of the new whammy's then it should be really accurate, but might be easier to drop tune the bass. and capo up if you need to play something in E standard andy
25. i use two diago power supplies to power my board, one would be enough but went with two to split the load and also as i use alot of dirt pedals wanted to reduce the risk of noise. andy
