  1. They do play lovely straight from the box ,the Player ones They are the kingpins for me , it doesn't mean everyone should have one but they are/were the blueprint Currently have Sadowsky ,RIc,Cort and 3 Fenders
  2. It was a Musicians contest though ,Jazz at that, rather than Composing/songwriting contest Someone playing Let it Be in a Bass playing contest would go out in round 1
  3. i No Jazzer, despite the name , but i loved it as did my son (17). Safe etc weren't words that entered my head. I wouldn't have known if songs were covers etc if it not for the Title appearing. Maybe they start doing their thing as doors are opened
  4. Never been a fan of the Yellow at all on the MB stuff It looked a bit out of place in that classy setting for me Going to rewatch as i tuned in half way
  5. Its probably nicer to oversee their sale alive than somebody do it on your behalf after you've gone
  6. i assumed the rig was for the Electric players later in the show who played for the pianist ,rather than him ?
  7. Just popped on to mention Top Draw playing ,awesome
  8. i Like it i don't play fives and i'm getting on a bit for bright funky basses but he's a great talent and it looks a nice bit of kit at the money Cue the oldies and their quips 😉
  9. Liking the Nash models but a bit far away to pop anywhere to try one
  10. Got to agree , love Fender and had all kinds ,vintage, mij,USA Etc . Got a Player P during lockdown and its so so nice to play
  11. The answer is there ,they want Custom shop in there too ,plus they want their various tribute or limited models released every now and then with block inlays and extra pick ups and bridges etc . Given you can get a tasty Squier for entry money right up to CS models i think they are doing ok in tough times .Pick your level and go for it . I've had Usa Geddys (average) genuine 70s Jazz's (great) MIJ reissues (average) and two random Mex ,both brilliant
  12. I haven't ,would say no but i'd draw the line at looks more important than sound i've played in pub cover bands for 20 years but would never go and see one We put on a good show but if i wasn't in us i wouldn't watch us just not my thing
  13. The first Japanese metro's are a solid Ash full body Nyc had smaller bodies with chambers
  14. Hello What's the official colour of this ? It's looks quite light in the pics but these metallics are hard to capture
  15. Love the colour combo ,I had a 78 identical
  16. I'm interested but non local to try ,love the bound necks
  17. I've had a few Jazz basses including a usa Geddy and a real 75 and a real 76 ' i have a MIJ geddy now and a Mex Jazz I Play in a loud classic rock band and they do ok but the winner is my Sadowsky metro vintage jazz in passive mode .Its just massive and fat and sharp and sings all over the neck .Its heavy mind but worth it
  18. I got a 62 cij reissue off here .Sunburst, rosewood board etc . 90s one Really disappointed with it .Ok to play just no real tone or bite . Bought a Player precision during Covid and its ten times better .Neck to die for ,that P punch and grind wish i kept it mind you

  20. Jenny lee linberg warpaint error on upload
  21. Same when you do shared stage multi band gigs Same set up you always have etc i have good basses through a radial bassbone ,much better di than my amp .Great sound every week Sound guy ," what are you using that for ,just go from your amp " etc

  23. Had a thunder 111 back in the day,all neck no body , sold it in a year
  24. People do great copies of Art master pieces too No comparison at all and i hope all the amazing copyists of the world are using their talent to create something unique themselves otherwise what a waste i know some great players who if you say make something up for that bit they can't or sound awful
  25. I have a Japanese metro too . Been looking ideally for P Config. on the new German ones. It will be lighter than my full body I'm in Sunderland Sr2
