A name from the days of listening while reading sleeve notes i started playing in 79,with a pick ,strangling a little amp to punk songs i can remember hearing Breathing and not having a clue what i was actually listening to .A great steep learning curve followed Great great player

Hello all Sorry if this has been covered before I've got myself a lovely 60s hydrid p bass The fretboard is very dark rosewood and the fret markers are a very faded white, half over the rosewood half on the neck i'm more of a Jazz bass player and struggling a bit with seeing where i am .More so on dark stages Any ideas for markers that doesnt involve touching the woods etc ? dont mind stickers etc to a point

They do play lovely straight from the box ,the Player ones They are the kingpins for me , it doesn't mean everyone should have one but they are/were the blueprint Currently have Sadowsky ,RIc,Cort and 3 Fenders

BBC4 now for some awesome upright playing

It was a Musicians contest though ,Jazz at that, rather than Composing/songwriting contest Someone playing Let it Be in a Bass playing contest would go out in round 1 -

i No Jazzer, despite the name , but i loved it as did my son (17). Safe etc weren't words that entered my head. I wouldn't have known if songs were covers etc if it not for the Title appearing. Maybe they start doing their thing as doors are opened -

Never been a fan of the Yellow at all on the MB stuff It looked a bit out of place in that classy setting for me Going to rewatch as i tuned in half way -
Its probably nicer to oversee their sale alive than somebody do it on your behalf after you've gone

i Like it i don't play fives and i'm getting on a bit for bright funky basses but he's a great talent and it looks a nice bit of kit at the money Cue the oldies and their quips 😉

Liking the Nash models but a bit far away to pop anywhere to try one

Got to agree , love Fender and had all kinds ,vintage, mij,USA Etc . Got a Player P during lockdown and its so so nice to play
-
The answer is there ,they want Custom shop in there too ,plus they want their various tribute or limited models released every now and then with block inlays and extra pick ups and bridges etc . Given you can get a tasty Squier for entry money right up to CS models i think they are doing ok in tough times .Pick your level and go for it . I've had Usa Geddys (average) genuine 70s Jazz's (great) MIJ reissues (average) and two random Mex ,both brilliant

Tribute Bands - do you play in one? Just for fun
jazzmanb replied to Mickeyboro's topic in General Discussion
I haven't ,would say no but i'd draw the line at looks more important than sound i've played in pub cover bands for 20 years but would never go and see one We put on a good show but if i wasn't in us i wouldn't watch us just not my thing -
The first Japanese metro's are a solid Ash full body Nyc had smaller bodies with chambers
