  1. A name from the days of listening while reading sleeve notes i started playing in 79,with a pick ,strangling a little amp to punk songs i can remember hearing Breathing and not having a clue what i was actually listening to .A great steep learning curve followed Great great player
  2. Sadowsky metro express jazz ? i know they had buzz issues early I have a Japanese metro ,its heavy and sounds incredible and silent but is more money
  3. These are awesome basses I have a 2006 uv70 with maple board and it's my go to gig bass Good price too Try the Sadowsky owners Facebook page for interest
  4. Thanks all 👍
  5. If they are around the same position i'd rarely make contact with them unless i do my fancy Sting moves with my thumb
  6. Hello all Sorry if this has been covered before I've got myself a lovely 60s hydrid p bass The fretboard is very dark rosewood and the fret markers are a very faded white, half over the rosewood half on the neck i'm more of a Jazz bass player and struggling a bit with seeing where i am .More so on dark stages Any ideas for markers that doesnt involve touching the woods etc ? dont mind stickers etc to a point
  7. i just tend to stay local for stuff i want selling face to face Facebook marketplace ,gumtree gave up on Ebay a while back due to all the restrictions
  8. I had a gorgeous Euro4lx spector I'd say it tipped the Sadowsky on the E's bottom end but the the G and D didn't cut the mix half as well
  9. I have one and the Fender on steroids is the phrase i use Mostly played passive for me The sound right across the fretboard is just so right The soundmen love it Great price
  10. Lovely bass and great price as the Japanese Metros are appreciating nicely after they moved the deal to Warwick I have a 2006 Metro and its sounds incredible
  11. They do play lovely straight from the box ,the Player ones They are the kingpins for me , it doesn't mean everyone should have one but they are/were the blueprint Currently have Sadowsky ,RIc,Cort and 3 Fenders
  12. It was a Musicians contest though ,Jazz at that, rather than Composing/songwriting contest Someone playing Let it Be in a Bass playing contest would go out in round 1
  13. i No Jazzer, despite the name , but i loved it as did my son (17). Safe etc weren't words that entered my head. I wouldn't have known if songs were covers etc if it not for the Title appearing. Maybe they start doing their thing as doors are opened
  14. Never been a fan of the Yellow at all on the MB stuff It looked a bit out of place in that classy setting for me Going to rewatch as i tuned in half way
  15. Its probably nicer to oversee their sale alive than somebody do it on your behalf after you've gone
  16. i assumed the rig was for the Electric players later in the show who played for the pianist ,rather than him ?
  17. Just popped on to mention Top Draw playing ,awesome
  18. i Like it i don't play fives and i'm getting on a bit for bright funky basses but he's a great talent and it looks a nice bit of kit at the money Cue the oldies and their quips 😉
  19. Liking the Nash models but a bit far away to pop anywhere to try one
  20. Got to agree , love Fender and had all kinds ,vintage, mij,USA Etc . Got a Player P during lockdown and its so so nice to play
  21. The answer is there ,they want Custom shop in there too ,plus they want their various tribute or limited models released every now and then with block inlays and extra pick ups and bridges etc . Given you can get a tasty Squier for entry money right up to CS models i think they are doing ok in tough times .Pick your level and go for it . I've had Usa Geddys (average) genuine 70s Jazz's (great) MIJ reissues (average) and two random Mex ,both brilliant
  22. I haven't ,would say no but i'd draw the line at looks more important than sound i've played in pub cover bands for 20 years but would never go and see one We put on a good show but if i wasn't in us i wouldn't watch us just not my thing
  23. The first Japanese metro's are a solid Ash full body Nyc had smaller bodies with chambers
  24. Hello What's the official colour of this ? It's looks quite light in the pics but these metallics are hard to capture
  25. Love the colour combo ,I had a 78 identical
