2. Its a tiny little box,but sounds really big,i have seen 2 come on here in the last few months, have a look on the korg website they have a demo video, its pretty impressive.
3. Could you not get something like a korg pandora they have a click backing track effects etc on them. You can pick them up cheap 2nd hand.
4.
What if you like both Can I come in, it's cold out here!
The rules dont apply to women as they are in short supply bass playing wise,so all are welcome. Especially ones who wear rubber.
5.
Interested if anyone uses a clicker and if so which one. This is more about practice than live situations, it would be easier to have a portable clicker coming through earphones, where I can quickly change tempo/beat, without using my PC. And yes yes I've heard all the opinions about clickers fostering mechanical playing, only if you're already mechanical, a decent rhythmic player can push and pull the beat regardless of what's clicking in the background. Any advice on devices appreciated. EDIT - PS I used a digital metronome for six years at school but for the bass I'd rather in ear solution.
Is your drummer crap or something isnt he your metronome? If you are practicing at home cant you just play along with drum loops or something.
6.
I know where I'm not wanted.
Dont be silly wayne. your a regular dude on here so i will let you in plus you seem like a decent chap, and besides you play a jazz bass and live in canterbury where i lived for a bit
7.
Ah, but most of them don't want Jizz, er, Jazz. I'll get mi coat!
joe public loves my jazz especially the female ones, when i shower it on them.
8. I may start my own forum now,for rare groove funk and jazz bass players,no riff raff or pastiche punk kids who cant really play, haw haw haw haw.....Only joking.
9. Will there be new moderators?
10.
I'm not surprised, I've had to deal with idiots, time wasters, weirdos and talented prima donnas before now, and spent a lot of time and money. It's valuable experience though so not time wasted. I was lucky, I had a relationship with a girl that was connected to the people I play with now, so I was already friendly with them. The trick is to be trusted to be cool and do a professional job of being a bassist. Having personal connections obviously cuts through all the bollocks and arrogance of auditions and it's SO convenient for the band. It really is who you know, not what you know most of the time. I have a fulfilling day job and an extraordinarily fulfilling musical life. The balance is right, I wouldn't want to be a full time pro, semi pro is perfect for me. Luckily my day job is fairly flexible. Sorry, doesn't help much, I know.
Some people want to be more than happy though.
11.
NEVER join a band....find a formed one,and TAKE them over!!!
Thats what i do,blow them away it would be nice to think bands are a democracy, but if i am honest im playing the music i want to play. Get funky or f*** off.Sorry. Stand up and be counted bass players.
12. Can any newcastle lads remember the original grot guitars they were wicked.
13. Just picked up a highway one jazz in new condition from this dude (Original tags included) which was a nice suprise.Im loving the tone of this already, cant believe i didnt come back to fender sooner, nice bass and a nice bloke, cheers barry and good luck with your band.
14. I wish they had not got rid of the old bass player magazine.
15. I like the blue and orange one ,wish i could get a fender jazz in those colours.
16. I love steely dan, they always seem to make me want to move to california for some reason.
17.
I've tried and tried to get into her playing but it leaves me cold. I've seen her compared to Jaco but I just can't hear it. (Some of) Jaco's playing rocks my world but Tal's just reminds me of the stuff that used to get played over Ceefax at 3.00am. I've said it before but if she looked like Kathy Staff she wouldn't get anywhere near the attention that she does.
Same here, she is obviously a fantastic bass player but it just sounds detatched and ungroovy to me i cant get into it,i also think that if she had been less cute no bugger would have noticed as much. This piece is very good though and i like the chords at the start.
18.
Pervert.
I was wondering who would get there first.
19. YouMa

best small fuzz?

My home built one with germaniums whacked in.
20. It has to be nick drake or pentangle, get john martyn as well but dont listen to much or you may want to be a guitarist.
21. If kids are sh*t these days, its highly likely that its the people who brought them ups fault, kids are just empty vessels waiting to be given knowledge and guidance. I do agree that this resurgence of new wave in music is bloody awful,i mean i think probably the last really good original bands were probably 10 to 15 years ago, stone roses etc. When i watch jools holland i dont really see any new bands that offer much, and i dont think thats because im now in my 30s.
22. Sorry to piss on the fire but unless you find an actual collector i dont think its going to be worth a lot,i had a blade guitar,i still have the gig bag, good guitar though.
23. Ive got thosands of loops ill send you some if you want.
24. I saw a similar sale about 16 months ago,it also said that you could meet stuart when you bought the bass, times must be hard for zender.
25. I have bach for bass and learned a few but no one wants to listen to it on a bass guitar, paganini you might get away with.
