If i went out with my metal detector and raided at least 3 historical (roman)sites i know of about a mile away from me,the police would string me up. Old relic guitars and basses need to start getting the same sort of respect as valuable antiques with a valued place in history,there really cant be that many 1960 Fender Jazz basses about! Surely?

Im pretty sure cellulose cracks,lifts etc,urethayne melts.Wish i had not been in my current payment dispute with ebay (I have not payed there fees cause i dont like them anymore) otherwise i would love to message the dude. However saying that the grain on the fingerboard looks genuine to me,i have been priviledged enough to drool over a real 1960 jazz before and the grain on the fingerboard did look similar,hes gone over the top with the tea/golden virginia staining though.Looks like fag ash rubbed into the distressed urethayne patches.

You can get an outboard usb one fairly cheap,if you are going to start using your pc for recording eventually you will need a better card than the one on board.

Download and asio4all drivers that should sort you,other than that you need a better soundcard mate.

The varnish ware does not look right to me,would a one of this date not craze and crack more,it looks more like its been melted.

Herbie flowers played the lower part on double bass and the higher notes on fender jazz,i dont think it would be possible to get the right sound any other way.Could you not get the guitarist to loop the c chord strum which goes on through the song and then help you out with the higher bass notes.Just a suggestion.

Sorry i got mixed up the guitar is in open EBGDGC tuning and is capoed at the 3rd fret,hope this helps looks to be a bit of a nick drake string f***er tuning.

There really is no magic funk pill,if you are not into mainly funk/soul/jazz music it is unlikely you will become a good funk player. I think out of all the genres of music funk comes only second to jazz bass guitar learning curve wise,and the two of them are related anyway. People say it again and again but it is so true,the bass must be allowed to breathe use space and the drums as a weapon in your funk arsenal to propel you along grooves and remember funk is primarily dance music.

Its a shame zender cant get his sh*t together and get in another decent band rather than trying to play syrupy "i love you baby" RnB sh*te. Damn fine bass player but he aint done nothing decent since jamiroquai.
