1.
He knows all the boys, too! Wheee!
Damn.... He thought that was a secret
2. I recently bought a Tascam Bass Trainer for practicing at work. It's so good I keep missing shouts
3. Welcome to the forum. Do you know my brother, he lives in Plymouth and know's all the girls Edit* He doesn't really know all the girls, that would be silly.
4. Welcome & good luck flogging your gear.
5. Welcome to the forum.
6. If I'm honest, I have absolutely no idea if your plan would work but I am impressed with the nut and saddles on my Bb1024. Nickel I think and look ace and open strings sound good too. So go for it I say.
7. Up until recently I had five basses, then I decided to simplify things. I now have two and when the market picks up the Stingray will be going leaving one. It really has made things easier. My bass feels super comfortable now because it's the only one I play & I can look in the for sale section and think 'that's nice' rather than 'I want it'.
8. Tasmin Archer's Sleeping Satellite (don't laugh).
9. Not strictly a Stingray but I played one of the Sub 5s recently (the original ones). It blew me away, every bit as good as my Ray 4 H but with a huge B.
10. 1. Love for music and basslines in particular 2. Fed up of Dj'ing in sweaty nightclub's 3. To drown out the sound of the wife/kid's
11. Stumbled across Bassworld on tinterfaceweb been hanging around ever since.
12. Anyone think Yamaha should've reserved the pickups & bridge for the 20 basses rather than fitting the same to both 10 & 20. I'm sure this discussion wouldn't be happening if the weren't so similar.
13. I'm not in anyway knocking those "discerning players" who have bought these basses and if money were no object I'm sure I'd buy one myself but I don't think I'm alone when I say I don't need the wow factor that the 202's offer. They are a nicety I can't afford and to be honest I think I'd be far too worried to gig something that expensive. I have been a Yamaha convert for years so I'm not knocking them or the people who buy their gear.
14. I haven't played a 2024/5, could probably never justify the cost but all you have to ask is do you care if the wood has been treated or what factory it was made in. I don't so the 1024 for me was a no brainer.
15. When playing over the chords just listen to the song and get a feel for it, then find the changes and play along with the root notes only. From there you can add fifths of the root or any combination of notes that sound good to you. Starts with notes from the relevant scale & see what you come up with. Oh and Cm was a guess but I don't think I'm far off, sure someone will correct me if its not. Enjoy it and play what you feel. *edit* what Mickster said hits the nail on the head.
16. Hi & welcome to the forum. I'd say your song is in the key of Cm so if you use the circle of fifths the chords you want to look for are Cm, Gm, Fm, Eb, Ab & Bb Hope this helps. Edit! For getting it wrong (helps if you have a bass in front of you)
17.
Problem solved! Just returned from collecting a lovely Red Wine coloured BB414. Fantastic condition aswell
Enjoy, they are fantastic basses.
18. "I'll leave it out by the letter box so we don't have to interact. I hate people" Brilliant
19. What, there are strings other than Stainless Steel Slinky's, surely not.
20.
You are very thin .
And scary, I haven't come out from under the blanket yet....
21. Anyone remember the SX trend a few years ago !!!!!!!! They are great basses though for the money (I have a Jazz & my bro has a P) *edit** You do know its Pink right? Pink?
22. Mug's....... to put tea in (not the members)
