1. Thanks for the comments guys, pm about to get answered.
 2.
Crikey that's a deal and a half mate. Why can't I find them lol.
Ebay, it was originally listed for £500 + post and i was tempted at that, but i was away from home and missed it. It then got re-listed for £350 and I was sat at the computer when the notification came through. Within 20 minutes I had bought and paid for it. Couldn't not buy it. Think the guy just needed Christmas cash. *edit* I also have a Bb614 that is an amazing bass & also for sale* Shameless I know.
 3. I picked up my 1024 at Christmas for 350 with a case, It's an awesome bass and a bargain to boot.
 4. Thanks Matt, they are great basses and I'm only letting them go because the 1024 gets all the play time. I never set out to be a collector but you know how it is, you kinda get attached to the things & before you know it you have a fleet.
 5. I've decided to thin the heard a little this year and deciding what to keep and what to let go has been a tough time. First up is my beautiful natural Bb614 in excellent condition. I had this from Machines about five or six years ago and it hasn't been gigged in that time. I have changed the bridge for a Gotoh and the knobs for TRB style ones (I do have the original knobs but not the bridge) and it has a more substantial string retainer on it. £200 plus postage inc hard case. Next up, my 1990 Bb300 NOW SOLD Feel free to contact me for more info/photo's Steve
 6.
I'm only after the pickguard, can you confirm that the pickguard alone does not fit the 414 Iconic?? cheers!!
I think Iconic has the one from the Bb1024x the one you should look at is the Bb414x. I'd google it to see if you like it then ring yamaha and ask if it will fit.
 7.
bump
08448 111116 Ain't gonna ring them for ya dude.
 8.
Yep , I kind of thought of a gang of bank robbers all wearing the same pair of (oversize) tights , with a reggae kind of feel .......but Ive moved on now
I'd like to hear that....
 9. Ring Yamaha & speak to the lady in parts.
 10.
Yesterday was New Bass Day when I got my new Yamaha BB425x in red from Promenade Music in Morecambe. I wondered what strings come with the BB and if anyone had any recommended string sets for the BB? Vince
If you have coloured ball ends then they are D'addario's. Stainless steel Slinky's sound nice on a Bb too, especially after you break them in.
 11. Spotify Premium works for me. But I do miss owning Cd's and Records and Tapes
 12.
Ikay has the right idea. You can recharge magnets very easily without taking the pickup to bits. Google it and then get over to emagnetsuk. Shouldn't be very expensive. A vice or homemade jig is needed along with a couple of strong magnets.
I did watch the video & thought id have a go but how do you know how many passes to make?
 13.
If it sounds ok still, leave it alone!
I hear you, I'm going to see how I get on with it.
 14.
Presumably in light of that adage , women in wheel chairs ( tits and wheels ) are considered to be particulaly troublesome ?
15.
If it's got tits or wheels it will give you trouble.. . .. not if. When.
Amended Mate had that on the back of his truck for years
 16. I've got a Matchbox Ford Escort & a 10p peice. Not basses but from 83 non the less.
 17. Firstly I liked the girls, then the band, then the beiber making a tit of himself.
 18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=X5gpOpHbECk#! My kinda gig!
 19.
Magnetic strength of polepieces is generally even across the pickup. Individual polepieces can sometimes weaken over time but getting them remagnetized is a simple job for a repair shop. Or you can get a set of DIY repair magnets from StewMac like this: - http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tools/Clamps,_support_tools/Guitar_Repair_Magnet_Kit.html oInstructions on how to do this are towards the bottom of this page: - http://www.stewmac.com/freeinfo/Electronics/Pickup_building/i-5967.html
Thanks for that. I think its going to have to go for repair, I can't afford to mess up Yamaha's super pickup.
 20. What surprised me is how simple the bass line is. Just goes to show you don't need to play all the notes all the time.
