You have a pre/post setting on the aux send for each channel. Ican't remember but assume that that would be pre processing and bypass all EQ and dynamics.

Suggest a bass.. Let’s stick with the Pbass

Natural was mine. EDIT. My memory is going. It was my second bass. The first was a Squeir it was also a great. -
That is a later one I think, The early ones were P/J and had a high mass bridge. The jack was flat on the front, not like the Stratocaster front mounted design introduced later.
-
Can you explain the TLA?
-
All true, the AJB, jazz bass (or really a P/J) is not that hummy, but I swapped the pickups for a set of DiMarzio P/J with a humbucking jazz. The fingerprints on the black is true, of course the Aerodyne looks so cool... Be aware that the new ones have a 12" neck radius, whereas the early ones had 7.5" and some folks find that too tight.

Show us your rig of choice for the weekend ** Basschat edition**

Jacks are a real danger on speaker cables. Most jack sockets from good makers like Neutrik, Switchcraft and Cliff generally rate at 5 amps. The SpeakOn/Jack Combo sockets are rated at 10 amps. However, many jacks and sockets are rated 0.5 amps. Also, SpeakOn are virtually bulletproof, whereas a shorted jack lead has broken many an amp. -
Yup, Washing mashing plus Tumble Dryer on a Double Socket? On high heat and a cotton wash, that is crazy. I had a lead with a charger that was moulded, and the plug top had no fuse.
-
I should have read your post before posting myself. However it is only the cable and connection point that passes the current. The socket will only pass what is being drawn by appliances attached to it. One other word of caution. Many Far Eastern imports come with IEC C14 (kettle) connectors but are fitted with 5A cable. That’s barely enough for an 800W amp.

Of course, we do or, more correctly, we fit circuit breakers to each ring circuit. For a normal wall socket ring main circuit, it is 32A. All plugs (plug top to our sparks friends) have fuses rated at 250V AC and a current that will protect the lead/cable/cable cord. It will be as low as possible. Never try to out guess the manufacturer. They rate onboard fuses at a rating that will allow for normal operation of the unit.

When I started as a guitard, many decades ago, I had a 30 watt 2x12 Selmer Combo. Same size as an AC30, it was great, although the faux crocodile skin covering was as tatty as hell. I re-covered it in bright red vinyl. I realise it was a crime, but I knew no better.

I have a box taunting me labelled BDI21 Mod Kits. I will do this mod one day.

You have to make the choices that work for you. Had we not had the annual open air gig (June 21st), I might have made a different choice.

Agreed, Glynn John sorted that years ago.

This was the reason I went for the Soundcraft. I can do four vocal mics, two guitars, bass plus 5 channels for drums. We were about to do an outdoor event with a serious PA supplied by a DJ. I had to mix all the above and feed it into the L/R unbalanced inputs on a Pioneer D/J mixer (I ran balanced to just before the Pioneer then used two Sowter line transformers to convert to unbalanced at the Pioneer).
-
I did look at the M18 and @Phil Starr has one (he is a secret RCF fanboi). When I bought the Ui16, I needed more mic inputs than the M18 offered, 12 rather than 8. I was worried about the fact that the Ui had fewer Aux outs, but then I found the menu where you could reassign the Headphone out socket as Aux 5/6. That being said, the M18 would be my choice if I could get away with fewer mic inputs. To me, the big thing was the User Interface. Having just to use a web browser instead of an app was the other big thing for me.

When we did cab shoot-outs at the Big South West Bass Bash, MB came top one year and bottom the next. What that means, I could not tell you.
-
The Headphone out can be reassigned to Aux 5 and 6 is you want. The design of the Ui series is such that it can be used as a stage box, as it is only 100mm/4" deep. Also, you can unscrew the rack mount ears. So that makes it much smaller. The downside is that it uses a brick power supply. It is a locking connector however and and can be velcro'd to the side of the unit.

On a serious note, I find Rettelec to be a good source of bags.

How many grenades does that hold?

Where to get good quality speaker cables?
Chienmortbb replied to Linus27's topic in Accessories and Misc
The customer is always right! -
You have an RTA function that allows you to see how the system is set up in the room. I am on my phone at the moment so cannot access all features. I BBC will send more info later.
-
IF you want to see the Soundcraft interface, go here https://www.soundcraft.com/products/ui16 It is a real time simulation of the interface and I often use it when I want to find out how to do something without getting the mixer out.
-
The good thing about Mixing Station is that it works across all the main makes, and if you are a freelance sound tech, you use just one interface whatever desk is supplied.

Where to get good quality speaker cables?
Chienmortbb replied to Linus27's topic in Accessories and Misc
Yes, that works, but these cables involved Jacks and soldering a heavy-duty speaker cable to a jack plug takes a heavy-duty soldering iron. I also agree that SpeakONs are the way to go, but if your amp or cab only has jacks, you have no choice.
