1. No idea. This bass is more than 51 years old. As you can see, it has been played, so it is not very strange that these were replaced at some time in his history. As I stated earlier. I'm not sure if some parts are still original from the controls, but let's asume it is al from later date, so that there is no misunderstanding of what I'm offering. Thanks for the bumps, guys. edit: new page. Here are the pictures and info: Specs: Very light Ash body in refinished Sonic Blue Amazing smooth neck (very, very slim and fast playing). Dated august 1960 Thick slabboard brazilian rosewood with clay dots. original pickups, hardware, and amazing pickguard. re-issue stack knobs Serial number: 54XXX
2. I actually don't know. The bell plate could be original, and the stacked pots have the tone knob that works in stages like it should. The pots inside are replaced, so let assume the whole set isn't original, because I don't know for sure. If some parts of the controls are still original, than it's a bonus for the potential buyer. But lets asume it is from later date.
3.
Really aren't many of these about at all, lovely bit of history Although the pickguard is original.....really needs to be a vintage 'mint-green' guard with the (stunning) Sonic Blue, it really is my fave custom colour! Good luck Si
I understand that. But, the earliest jazz basses (60-61) always had tort pickguards - even with the custom colours. So this is actually the right look for a custom colour JB from 1960. Later in the early 60ies the custom colours got the mint pickguards.
4. Only a body refin by Patrick Koopman. One of the best for this kind of re-finishes. pkguitars.com The Neck has this smooth worn in nitro feel. Here is a picture of the back of the bass: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/829/img0216lr.jpg/
5. To be precise, neck has a stamp from 8/60, but the bass was assembled in October 1960, en shipped to The Netherlands in November that year. It should be the first Fender JB exported to The Netherlands, and one of the first in Europe.
6. After much deliberation, I decided to put my fantastic 1960 jazz bass for sale. I bought this bass in 2010 from the owner of Bass Matters, a dutch bass shop, who is an expert on vintage Fenders. The bass is original, except for the pots, and the colour. When I bought it, it had a thick poly sunburst finish, that I had replaced for a fantastic nitro finish in faded Sonic Blue. The headstock had some water damage a very long time ago, but has no issues, and has some remaining parts of the original decal. Specs: Very light Ash body in refinished Sonic Blue Amazing smooth neck (very, very slim and fast playing). Dated august 1960 Thick slabboard brazilian rosewood with clay dots. original pickups, hardware, and amazing pickguard. re-issue stack knobs Serial number: 54XXX I'm selling it, because after twenty years, it is time to focus on other hobbies, and musical instruments more. I don't need to sell this, and if it stays with me, it is also fine. This is a vintage bass, for a player. I took it to all my gigs. No museum bass. For interested parties, I can make more detailed pictures of the neck heel etc. Just want to see if there is any interested, before I started loosening those bolts and screws. I'm asking 6900,- euro's (that is about 5750,- GBP) for this unique bass. I will consider partitial trades for 4 or 5 string basses, or EUB's. Shiping is no problem, but meeting (for people in the BeNeLux, Germany or France) is prefered, because of the rarity of this bass.
7. Great looking bass, and these are fantastic sounding basses. What is the asking price? Can't seem to find it at first glance.
8. I ordered this bass in 2006 from Chris, and received it in 2007. It is one of the best basses I ever played. I only sold it last year because I bought an 1960 jazz bass, that suited my playing style even a bitt better. It has been my #1 bass for 3 years, while I bought and sold more than 20 bass in the meantime. This is one of the best jazz basses money can buy, and Brusen is great guy to do business with.
9.
I've had the serious pleasure of owning a Celinder - I don't believe in fairy dust, but if anybody's got some, it's Chris Celinder
That Precision was one of the few basses that i regret selling. Everything, and every tone sounded amazing on that bass. Really trying to find the cash for this one. Love the looks, and curious how it will sound with these pickups.

11. Fantastic looking bass for a good price. This should sell quick.
12. Wow, what a bass. I'm usually not a sunburst fan, but this looks amazing. I'm seriously checking my savings, to see what is possible. Have a bump on me in the meantime!
13. It has this real nice faded look. You can really see the white primer finish. That what gives it that almost OW feel. The next couple of years it will fade even more, to match the rest of the of the bass even better.
14. That lightweight Update of yours is still a bass I would love to own. Usually I don't like black basses, bur with this control layout it just works.
15. The headstock got some water/ moist damage or something a long time ago. I call it therefore my swamphead... I thought about a matching headstock, but that wouldn't be period correct. (they started somewhere in '61). And the longer I own the bass, the more I think this is a part of the history of the bass. Also you would have to destroy the last part of the original decal. I had the neckpickupcover on it. But I prefer to play without it. And I think it shows the amazing pickguard much better.
16. Last year I had the oppurtunity to purchase a 1960 Jazz bass. It was finished in a very thick poly 59'burst. So I decided it needed an original nitro refinish. I decided on blond, because it has an Ash body, but because of some black stains from the previous finish, a see through finish, wasn't an option. So I went with sonic blue. To be honest I like the total look better than blond (although I would have been nice to restore it to what probably would have been the original colour). The fantastic re-finish has been done by Patrick Koopman (www.pkguitars.com) It is an incredible playing (unbelievable neck) and sounding bass. Should be obvious, because I sold my special passive Celinder Jazz for it.
17. The new owner will be a very happy with this. When you play this bass for the first time, you will stop playing after a few notes, because you have to say WOW first. Amazing bass.
18. My old bass. I played about 20 Celinders in my life, and this one is in the top 3 of all time favorites with my old J Classic, and Flankers former 5 string fretles. I'm afraid I will not be able to afford it, but will think about it the next couple of days. Amazing bass. Good luck with the sale Lozbass!
19. This Celinder is back for sale!! Price reduction 2950,- GBP/ 3350 euro's. A saving of more than 1500,- euro's compared to a new one!
20.
As i've stated before the AC was not twice the bass my Jazz was, nor was the Celinder P 4 times the bass of my Jap 62 Precision, but I must state that they were both remarkably special. I now feel confident that the boutique basses should be the way i'm heading, they are better than what I have, and therefore justifiably dearer. However, it is subject to the law of diminishing returns, spending more and more money seeing smaller and smaller benefits. So unless I win the lottery, i'll be scouting around the used market I reckon. Also, the Celinder is pure filth...
That Celinder P Vintage Lozbass owns is something special indeed. I played alot of Celinders through the years, and that P-bass is on par with my other favorite Celinders. Flankers old Blue Celinder fretlesss and some J-Classics I played (and own.). I'm not a P-bass guy, but that bass had it all. It plays and sounds amazing.
21. Good news! The goldprice is rising skyhigh, so what better bass to buy than this Shoreline Gold Celinder. http://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/2010/09...rs-seek-safety/
22. Thank you Sir! Here is a picture of Chris Celinder himself with my bass.
