1.
I was a bit disappointed that the video doesn't show anyone actually playing one of them. I'm assuming they are nice basses though if they get play time amongst your collection (judging by what I saw a couple of years back when I bought your Hartke head).
Hi Kev. Yes its a shame there are no "action shots". --- Maybe if we put some comments on the Youtube listing they may take notice. I have put this up for sale on the forum twice, but withdrawn it because it is too good to get rid of! Sold my other 2 short scales (Gibson SG Supreme and Fender Mustang ) Both really good basses but the Landing is better! Will.
 2. Just found this Ad on Youtube for the amazing hand built American Landing Basses ( Im prejudiced cos I have a superb Sunburst 30" scale L1 ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDXd_wDvIkQ Will.

 5.
Im pretty much decided on one of the above. Im not really sure what to go for, although im more in favour of the Thumper (due to its name). I dont really want a hot pup, certainly nothing like a SDQP. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with both. I know certain people on here use one or the other so i would also like to hear from them. Also anyone (like Neil) who has upgraded the stock CV P. How different did it sound to the stock one? For what its worth im playing standard covers, no metal but a lot of 60-70's stuff, as well as current songs. I know it sounds like the Trad is the way to go, having that vintage vibe etc but if the Thumper has more thump, that also appeals to me. I also love Fralins so if anyone knows which is closer to one of those then thats the one ill go for. Im really only interested in Wizards at the moment (unless anyone has a Fralin for sale). Cheers.
I have the Wizard Thumper in my Aerodyne ( Along with a Dimarzio model J. bridge pup ) and it sounds awsome -- Its my favourite Gigging Bass at the moment, I also have a P-bass with a Kent Armstrong Vintage Alnico that I rate a very close 2nd to the Thumper. In my opinion both the Thumper and the Kent are better sounding than any of my other Fender P pups ( including my 1978 P-bass.) If you are in the Leeds area at any time you are welcome to try them out for yourself! Will.

 7.
I've had a couple of these, and they work well: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=35016 30 quid now, but they put them on 'special' at £10 every few months - worth a look to see if they're cheap in the store. The tip is quite fine (although it certainly doesn't feel like a 50W iron) and the variable temperature is nice. Cheap fixed temperature irons can be badly regulated and get much too hot, burning the solder and overheating components.
I have had the Maplins one for about 4 years now and it has been excellent - gone through quite a few bits but they are very reasonably priced! Will.
 8. Good morning Mark Can you tell me where you got the case from please, as I am having problems finding one for my Starfire bass. Regards from a fellow Yorkshireman! Will.

 10.
I once fitted DiMarzio Ultra Jazzes to a USA J Bass, very nice p/ups and humbucking too, vintage with a bit of edge to them to my ears. I later added an East J Retro.
I did the same with mine but fitted the DiMarzio Model J`s and a East J Retro = Massive tonal range! Will.

 13.
Dragging this thread from the dead with an observation... I've struggled with my tone at the last couple of gigs. It's sounded flat, 'dry' and lifeless. Frankly, it's been irritating me but I haven't really had the time to look into it in any great depth... ...until tonight. At half-time, I had a mooch and realised the preset level (shift + Tubetone) had been dialled right down somehow, at some point. I rolled it back up to 3o'clock (where is used to be) and suddenly the amp came alive again! It opened up with big, fat, responsive, rich tone. Yay! It made me wonder, though.. how many people try these amps with the preset dialled down, and have passed on them because they don't sound great..? Something to bear in mind if you're thinking of trying one...
Wow thanxs buddy ------I was getting worried about my RH450 till I checked my settings after reading this, and I found I had same problem! Its back up to my normal setting, and have got my RebelHead smile back again Regards Will.
 14. Lovely Basses! I may be parting with my sunburst one shortly if anybody is interested. I fancy trying a Jaguar if anybody fancies a swap! Will.
 15.
Anyone played one these, they look interesting. http://www.vintageguitars.org.uk/KalamazooKBbass.php Don't know why they are that shape. the Guitar version is totally different, http://cgi.ebay.it/GIBSON-KALAMAZOO-KG2-19...c#ht_500wt_1154
They also did a Bass with the Mustang style body as well as the Gibson EB style Although the Gibson style seems to be the most popular one! Will.

 17.
Is it some sort of laser field that trips you up when you step on it? Funny this thread should crop up actually - I've been eyeing up the Stageclix Wireless system just tonight and really tempted to take a punt in the near future! Anyone have any experience of one?
I have been using the Stageclix for the last few months and its the best system I have ever used. I Previously had a Samson Airline ( very good for the money ) and an Audio Technica ( Crap ) Will.

 21.
Was that the one you had for sale on here 2x18? Natural finish with the jack input moved?
No I have never had one up for sale, it was somebody else selling that one but it was an Aerodyne Precision in natural. Mine is a jazz in C.A.R. with the standard jazz control plate! Will.

 23.
Hello. I'm contemplating drastic surgery on my 2009 US Jazz. Having always considered myself a Precision man, I've been kinda surprised to find myself liking this excellent instrument so much. Been trying to sell / trade it on and off for months now, but the longer I keep it, the less inclined I am to let it go... I modified the last P-bass I had (a 2007 US Standard V) with the addition of a Seymour Duncan bridge Jazz pup, and was very happy with the results. Love the P-bass sound, but having the flexibility of mixing in some J-parp was just fantastic. And I pretty much vowed that from that point I'd always want to have that option on any P-bass I owned... But I never imagined I find myself using a Jazz as my main instrument. So now I'm wondering whether going down the "aerodyne" route of putting a P-bass pickup onto a Jazz body would give me similarly satisfying results. I've never played an Aerodyne. Was wondering whether there might be an Aerodyne-owning BC member in the area (I live in York) who'd be kind enough to let me have a go? Failing that, I'd be interested to hear from anyone with experience of these instruments anyway... Cheers.
Hi I have an Aerodyne Jazz that you are welcome to come and try out! I live in Leeds but very close to Junction 46 of M1 north, so easy to get here from York! I also have Precision Lyte that you could try out. Will.
