1. The highly acclaimed ( and expensive ) USA hand made Birdsong short scale basses use Lace Sensor Gold guitar pickups on some of their Basses so might be a good option! Will.
 2. Try Basschats own OBBM -- He has a very good reputation for his cables, and if you get in touch with him I am sure he will sort you out at a sensible price! Will.

Might go for active basses again.. it's a rare wine red one.. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp.../bb3000twin.jpg The Yamaha is one of the best sounding and playing basses I ever owned! Due to the brilliant condition and the fact that it is not an old and "used" one I won't sell it for "an apple and an egg" as we use to say here.. :-)
I think this is what you would call a blatent case of thread " Hijacking" !!!!!!!

 20. Just bought a set of strings from Clarky in a nice smooth easy transaction -- -----Top class guy to deal with Will.
 21.
I had these on my 51P bass to emulate an upright sound but the new owner of the bass didn't want them so I swapped them out. They are only a few weeks old, in very good condition with the silks largely unmolested (albeit I have cut the ends down to fit a body-through Fender scale length neatly). Straight competitors to Rotosound TruBass strings but, in my view, nicer feeling (softer, less plastick-y). Cost me £28.60 + post at Stringbusters. So how about £14 posted? PS, here's the blurb: La Bella 760 Black Nylon Tapewound Re-designed for improved tone, sustain and longevity, these stainless steel wound strings have an outer wrapping of black nylon tape. These smooth nylon tape winding makes them particularly suitable for fretless bass guitars, whilst the warm tone means they also sound good on acoustic bass guitars. Gauges 60 70 94 115
I will take them if they are still available Please PM me
