1.
The Precision Deluxe has been around for a while.
Hmm, yes. I tried a Deluxe P a couple of years ago but didn't like the feel or sound of it. Sandberg have being doing a similar thing for ages too but they don't have the "it" factor.
2.
Or go the whole hog and have the MM pup AND the P pup. Now there's some tones I'd like to hear!
Imagine the two pups full on! Now there's a great project for someone... Any takers?
3. Jeff Ament & Matt Cameron of Pearl Jam - Jeff + any of the other drummers have been good but Cameron is so very classy and has impeccable time-keeping. Darryl Jones & Charlie Watts - I like the Stones stuff sounding tight, many people don't but these two mesh in a way that gives the old tunes new life.
4. I dare someone to go on the EBMM forum and say what a fabulous modification you think is and that you think it should be offered as an option!!!
5. Last night (Friday) the bass player in the band band on Jonathan Ross' show had a Stingray with a P pick up in it. The bass was white with maple neck, had the classic stingray shape and chrome crescent control plate with three knobs, 3 +1 headstock and what looked like the usual EB MM Stingray logo on the headstock. The pick up was a proper split p-type and in the proper P bass position i.e. no obvious holes or hack marks where an MM used to be. Anyone know anything about these? I've certainly never seen one before.

Lakland DJ4/5

I got away with it twice using UPS from Bass Central.
7.
is there any difference between MIJ and CIJ? because for an MIJ +1 for guitaremporium.co.uk
No, it's the same thing. The newer ones are marked "Crafted in Japan" whereas older ones come with, "Made in Japan", it's just marketing BS and no real difference.
8. have a look at www.guitaremporium.co.uk - it makes it easy.
9. Congrats on your 30th Anniversary. You do realise that it's your Pearl Wedding Anniversary. I suppose there'll be a very special gift there then!
10. Try the Korg Pandora PX4D - I love mine and use it every day. It has everything you could want in it and an aux in. Great patches and sims built in.
11. Hail, hail, Flea! If he is a one trick pony, that's one hell of a trick he's doing!
12. For interest: http://www.lakland.com/audio.htm Lakland's great little project. The DJ4 sounds heavy at 9lb 5oz, my 44-02 is 7lb 7oz and my 55-02 is 9lb 5oz. What would be the major factors here? Both are Ash bodied maple neck instruments.
13. I have a mini-XLR to angle jack 2ft on order from Dave right now. He'll do pretty much whatever you need.

Cubase LE

Hi - Does anyone have a copy of Cubase LE that they could send to me? I had a copy with my Zoom H4 but it's now gone off to storage deep in a box because of my house move. I've had to do a full system recovery this week and have lost it. Favours done in return!
15. I heard that Darryl Jones was being paid $20,000 a week by The Rolling Stones when touring and a smaller retainer when not. This sounds realistic for a huge act and the fact that Darryl is now an established member of the tours. It cringe to imagine what that numpty Ronnie Wood is on as a full member of that band.
16.
Do I need a passport to get into Wales these days?
Only drummers need show their passports! The Sunday gig will be great if the weather holds. Come and say hi if you get there. I'll be the one playing bass!
17. Thanks for the heads up, Paul. We'll be getting in touch with the organisers soon.
18. I'm strictly on the squash, these days. With such a big band and people usually paying good dollar to see us I can't afford any clunkers. Mind you, if I'm not driving, not working the following day and there's no rush to get back after we've finished the set I tend to take advantage of the facilities at a venue. Sadly, the stars don't align themselves that way very often!
19. Hi - on the scrounge for some notation for this Wilson Pickett classic. Sorry - forget it - it's a piece of uknowwhat.

Ebow's

I borrowed one from a guitarist in our tribute band had I really struggled with it on bass. On guitar it's fab but it doesn't seem to have the ooomph to get the heavy strings going at a reasonable distance. I had lots of fun on the D & G strings though and slurs are definitely the way forward here. Can't say I have much "real" use for one as a full time Duck Dunn impersonator!!
21.
I really can't fault the amps sonically although the wheels on the combos can be fragile over rough surfaces.
I still jhaven't found anywhere that does replacement wheel assemblies!
22. I have an RB700/210 combo which I use for rehearsals and also as an on stage monitor for large gigs. I think in time I'll be running an extemsion cab and ditching my Ashdoown rig completely.
23. www.amplifiercoversonline.com - great service, real people. I've had two from them and they are fab.

25.
I'm writing a book on him and Nile Rodgers - it will have 20 transcriptions (bass and guitar) and hopefullly lots of detail - tricky, as you say, there's not a lot of info out there on him. STu
When's the book out, Stu? The song list is certainly impressive. Are you taking advance orders?
