Some Boss content... ME50B is great for gigging. So immediate but the tech is about 15y old now so the drives are a bit basic in a studio setting. Also the Octaver is not great, digital latency too noticeable, which is a result of the hardware being limited. At a regular gig / though these are great as everything is right in front of you and remember, no one at all can hear the difference between this and anything fancier once the band is playing. No one. (As @stewblack quite rightly says). Boss ME80 is even better. Drives are better but don't have a dry mix (unfortunately) and the Octaver is great. Main problem for me was the Octaver and comp (also great) are on the same pedal so you can't have both on one board / patch. Brings me to GT1000 Core. I took the plunge and although I'd prefer a slightly more immediate interface (would love them to make an ME1000) it feels pretty unlimited, and sounds fantastic. Has everything I would ever use on guitar or bass and most of the time will be a very expensive tuner!! The only frustration is that it doesn't have more knobs to twiddle for quick adjustments but for now it is the best 'one box' solution for me. In terms of this being a thread that would be of use to potential buyers my main conclusion after lots (lots and lots) of over thinking this is that user interface and functionality trumps tone. That might be sacrilegious for some but honestly get something that works the way you want to work in terms of buttons, knobs, features and make it sound good. They can all sound good, what differentiates them is the way you interact with them. That's why you'll probably see my gt1000 core for sale in about 2months and I'll be looking for a something without a screen again 🤦♂️

Ampero is in this price bracket. Recently updated firmware seems to tick alot of boxes. Also the forthcoming zoom g6 will probably be in there... Competing with Pod Go.

Near mint condition. These are hidden gems. Made in USA before Digitech was abandoned. May change my mind if I can find another drawer to keep it in!! - Full set of guitar and bass effects, amps and cabs -stompbox mode -line out and XLR out can have cab sim on or off - onboard drum machine, full MIDI capability. - 4 X 2 class compliant USB interface. Records wet and dry to your DAW with no need for drivers. Honestly the more you dig into these the more you respect how good they were and still are. Selling as I'm out of space. Comes with power supply. £130 posted.

I went for the short 5er in the spring time and have to say I'm very glad I did. Not only is it astonishing value for money, its pretty much unique in a mass produced bass. Can't think of another short 5er. Very glad about that because if this didn't exist I would have talked myself into a custom made job. Phew! Other than the pickups, what else did you do @Mikey D? Does anyone know of another short 5 or 6 stringer?

EBS Multicomp - [SOLD] Broughton Joshwah : [SOLD] BOSS OC3: Good as new and in the original box. £60 posted in the UK

My guess ... It's a masking problem ... you need a band chat about how to make space for one another in the mix. Also, make sure you aren't short on 80hz -160hz band energy as that's where you can win the arms race and still gain audible volume. You can have lots of sub / deep bass going on but it's not always that effective in terms of loudness.

Most tuners pass power through, so you only need to power the tuner and it powers a pedal. For just a sansamp and tuner that's the way to do it.

Couriers for bass guitars - recommendations?
funkydoug replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
I've had mixed experiences such that I firmly believe it to be something that is inherently risky. The difference between courier firms in general is much smaller than the difference between individual drivers. As in, it'd fail an ANOVA test (a jest for the statisticians). Unfortunately, there is no way to know which driver you'll get, or what mood they'll be in. Honestly the only way to reduce the risk of it ending badly is not insurance but very and I mean extremely careful and robust packaging. For an instrument a hard case is essential I reckon.
