1. Bought from Wymore Guitars, only fitted for a couple of minutes to check fit. £50 delivered.
2.
Mmmm. I believe the Shuttle can work as a pre-amp. What sort of wonga is needed to add such a power amp? I've got a feeling I'm not going to like the answer! Edited to say a big thanks to all other suggestions, which I have found most useful, whilst I way up the options. I'm not sure how soon I might want to change things now, but I intend to go on researching it.
How about a Genz Neopak?
3. Withdrawn to sell elsewhere...
4. I have a quantity of 4mm csa cable and 2 pole speakon plugs surplus to requirements, so I'm offering 2x4mm 1m long speakon/speakon leads at the special price of £10.50 including delivery to Basschaters. If you need other lengths PM me and I'll quote you a price. This offer is only available until I've shifted this inventory! Edit - Had questions regarding parts, cable is pro quality (each 4 square mm core having 224 strands), connectors are Neutik. Quoted price represents about a 40% discount on retail.
5. Black BB3000 with ebony board, and original Yamaha hard case. Bought new in Japan 4/5 years ago and been in storage ever since. Note this isn't the 3000MA, but an original non export BB3000. I believe Yamaha stopped production of these a couple of years back. Photos to follow. Looking for £800. This is a very reluctant sale. Edit - Having thought about it I've withdrawn this bass, I'll probably offer a BB2000 instead.
6. Bought this from Greenking just a few weeks ago - original thread and pictures are here [topic="44886"]SB320[/topic]. As Peter says, it's pretty much immaculate apart from some dulling to the finish on the front of the body below the G. Exceptional condition for age, I doubt if you could find one in better shape. Paid £200 + shipping and I'm looking to get that back. This is a reluctant sale. Better pics are in this thread - [topic="43164"]Peter's Harem[/topic]
7. TBH unless you're short of cash you'd be nuts selling the '71. From a purely financial viewpoint holding on to it is a better investment than just about anything else! It's an appreciating asset as opposed to the TF.
8. Just completed another deal with Peter, and as before it was a pleasure. Now I just need a mullet and some spandex to go with the SB320...
9. If this doesn't sell by 9pm I'll eat my socks.
10. Chris, screw off the control cover and you'll find details of the wood, who built it etc. Looks like American Elm to me...
11.
'Fender Custom Shop Precision Bass' that was doing the rounds on ebay last year is a case in point; I went to look at it in person, took off the neck and there were no Fender markings anywhere. It was bought by a ebay re-seller, relisted at a huge mark up and, guess what, in the listing were photos of the neck pocket with some very dodgy marker pen dates and signatures.
Chris, Name the seller!
12.
fair play to him if he can make a living outta buying and selling, beats buyin and sellin cars, until you buy something blind or from a photo, and you get stuffed up the rear end.
TOM = tuneomatic, the seller, not the buyer. The fellow who bought the bass was a relative newcomer to the bass and accepted the description given by TOM.
13. And in case anyone is in doubt, the bass was originally sold by tune-o-matic as 100% original. Third party examination has shown that anyone with a reasonable knowledge of Fender basses (let alone someone like TOM who buys and sells them for a living - a very lucrative one at that) would have realised that it is not an original instrument. Anyone who follows vintage Fender auctions will know that TOM snaps up old basses only to resell them a few weeks later at a considerable markup. I have spotted many `ambiguities' in his auctions, and wouldn't touch him with a bargepole. Edit - Personal opinion only, doesn't reflect the view of Basschat etc.
14.
1 x Green vintage looking, Fender Precision
Pics! We want pics, we want pics...
15. Here's the one I had for sale here a couple of years back - should look pretty much the same.
16.
I own the original 'twin' of this bass (BB2000 bought 2 from new). They have a great jazz 'honk'. Peter
That's not one of the twins. I bought this used from some guy in the US, and it had been badly neglected. After removing the grunge I had to repair the preamp, steam raise a few dents from the neck, reseat a few frets and do a fret level. Turned out to be nice player though. It's good to see it's still doing the rounds at the price I sold it for.

Yamaha BB's
I had the BB 614 in black, it was a great bass for the money. The only reason I sold it is that I have 2 BB 1200s and 1 BB 1200... so it didn't really get a look in BB1200s BB1200
Is that a factory finish green 1200s? They're pretty rare. I had a green BB2000 stolen a year or so ago - only a handful of BB2000 models were finished in that colour. It was a standard finish for the BB1200 but is still pretty unusual to see one in comparison to the wine, cherry and natural models. Don't know why - it's the nicest finish of the lot. Edit - Oh, I see it's lost the decal - I guess this is a black refinish?
18. It's a DIY mod on a BBN5. Mind you, the BB5000 was just a modified BB3000, so I'm sure Yamaha would approve...

Yamaha BB's

One other thing about the current BB3000 model - Yamaha seems to be one of the few manufacturers who can still find decent ebony for the fingerboards of their high end instruments.

Yamaha BB's
Does anyone here have experience on the new BB series and the original BB's. Just wondered how close they are to the original, is hardware easy to change? Are they available fretless? That sort of thing
The only ones close to the originals are the BB3000 and BBX. Ones to go for are the BB1200, BB2000 or BB3000s (if you like a jazz type neck). The current BB3000 is OK (if you like a chunky neck) but the finish isn't as durable as the BB2000. The 80's korean built BB3000 basses (which include almost all the active ones) in particular are prone to finish flaking. The finish on the BB1200 and BB2000 is pretty much indestructible. Recent BB's are great basses as well though, although it would be nice if they offered one with a 1 3/4" neck like the original broad bass.
21. Nice quick payer! Enjoy the SABBDI ...
