1. Just bought a cab from Jez. Nice guy, enjoyed chatting all things bass for a good hour or so. Feedback speaks for itself - deal with confidence, another great basschatter.
2. Hi all, My current set up is a fender P into a Orange TB500 via Sansamp BDDI… While I’m delighted with the sound of the cab, my main issue is I live in a 4th floor flat and my usual rehearsal space is also on the 3rd floor of an office block. The Berg is relatively light… but can be awkward to carry down narrow stairs (or just loads of stairs for that matter). I’ve been looking at the Barefaced website, particularly at the super Compact cabs…The plan is to buy two, use one for rehearsals and smaller gigs and both cabs for larger shows. Will one of these be able to handle the job of the OBT500, or would i always need to use both? Finally, can anyone tell me how the Barefaced cabs in general compare with the Berg’s, in terms of build quality and any other general observations/comparisons. Or should I suck it up, stop being a wimp and appreciate the CN212? I can sense some GAS bubbling away! Cheers.
3. For sale is my Orange Terror Bass head. Valve preamp, Class D power amp, 500 watts... seriously loud. I bought it about 18 months ago new from Dawson's in Reading. I have gigged with it about 10 times but have looked after it. It's in perfect condition with no dings or scratches. Includes gig bag, speakon cable and power lead. Selling because I'm not playing in bands at the moment so it's just sat in the corner, this thing needs to be played. I would prefer cash and collection, i'm based in Didcot, just south of Oxford and just off the A34 (within easy reach of M3, M40 or M4). Would also be prepared to deliver/meet half way for fuel costs. Not open to trades, open to offers. Cheers!
4. 1. strap gave way on my brand new Fender Paisley P Bass... 2. Same bass as above... stood on the lead and yanked a connection out of place. Didn't have a spare bass (I lived on the edge, you see) so had to watch half the gig from the bar... 3. Didn't happen to me, but my ex-guitarist... A string breaks in the first song... Goes to grab the spare guitar and doesn't realise it's a 1.5 steps out of tune... Needless to say the next song sounded pretty awful.
5. Lovely bass. Would look great with a tort pickguard too.
6. Lozz if I wasn't about to book a holiday i'd have this off you... (I could start a collection of ex-lozz P Basses) Good luck with the sale, hope you're doing well
7. Bought a CN212 earlier this year... Not cheap, but what a sound. Can't recommend it enough.
8. I used to swear by Rotosounds, but they always used to go dead after a few rehearsals... tried a set of DR's from Bass Direct and they lasted ages... maybe 2 months.
9. i'd love an ampeg SVT with a matching 8x10. It would look awesome but it's just not practical for me. Especially when your car is a Micra. A 2x12 plus OBT500 has everything I want in a rig, amazing soung, small stage footprint and no more than 2 trips from car to stage.
10. I tried the squier Matt freeman last week and it's fantastic for the money... IMO better than some of the Mexican standard models I've tried recently. Always pays to try before you buy with fender/squire in my experience. If you can find one second hand, the classic series 70's P is brilliant, I bought mine from Lozz and it's probably the best P I've played.

I have the CN212 but i'd love to get my hands on the mesa head too. Looking forward to the review!
12. Ashdown LB30 through a Bergantino CN212... Just wow.
13. My LB30 sounded loud at home, and I thought it would be just about loud enough to rehearse and gig with. Being in a noisy punk band with a very loud drummer, it didn't even come close. Very disappointed at first as the general consensus was it could be gigged with (even with the DI I lost a lot of low end and it sounded a bit naff). However, for home practise and especially recording it is awesome. Our recording engineer liked it so much he ordered two of them on the spot. And it looks totally awesome.
14.
I was in your position too, wanting lighter cabs. I had reservations about it being enough, my last few cab set-ups have been Trace 1x15+4x10, Ashdown 8x10, Warwick WCA 115+ either 411 or 211. This thing handles everything I throw at it with ease, no need for back breaking cabs for me anymore! I've also heard great things about the Bergantino CN212, I'm sure there's a few users of those on here who can give you the lowdown on those.
I bought a CN212 last weekend... It's fantastic. Best thing i've ever bought. Only 20kgs(ish) and an incredible sound. Highly recommended.
15. Right, so i've got a new mexican classic series Precision (thanks to Lozz) I want to spruce up. First up, new bridge. I've got a Badass II on another bass. I love it. It's awesome. But they're hard to get hold of. I've also been reading into the Babicz Full Contact bridge, got some good reviews, and is cheaper. Should I hold out for another Badass II or go for a Babicz? Does anyone have any experience with the Babicz? Cheers people!
16. Met Lozz today and bought his classic series precision. Great bloke, friendly, easy to do business with. Had a good chat about all things bass. Hope to see you again mate.
17. I bought a Paisley P Bass from Chris Horton on here a few weeks back... Definitely a head turner. Got a lot of comments from it in the last few gigs we've played.
18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WD_YCdxNCE Our gig last saturday. Can't hear the bass too well on this clip sadly more footage on FB page if anyones interested https://www.facebook.com/SmallTimeHero
19. Have a bump on me, i've got one of these and they are incredible.
20. Just bought a fender precision off Chris. Great guy, helpful, friendly, won't hesitate to deal with him again. Cheers Chris.
21. Just started a new job... hope you've still got this in a few months when i'll have the funds!!
