Just sayin'
2.
Is it any good for metal?
Oh, he got there first, DOH!
3.
The rest of the outfit: http://www.ebay.co.u...YcAAOSwo0JWOylZ http://www.ebay.co.u...D0AAOSwj0NUkjue http://www.ebay.co.u...zftmt3eidzS_EJw http://www.ebay.co.u...kDXdw7dMmsPtyAQ http://www.ebay.co.u...nsiF6nP1FVCzXLQ http://www.ebay.co.u...X-HxGUdx_wpXxAw
With all this plus the guitar, you'd need a forklift to carry you on stage. I love the fact that, in addition to it "Being hand built with lots of the steampunk gadgets gives it some nice weight nothing light and cheap here.", it comes with a wooden case. Not for the faint hearted then.
4. Welcome aboard
5.
I've got a song in my head since I saw the picture but I can't think what it's got to do with the picture. It's about a heart of stone???????
treat me nice treat me good treat me like you really should 'cause i'm [s]not[/s] made of wood and i do[s]n't[/s] have a wooden heart oh.... hang on....
6.
And let's also consider the fact that "Simple Minds The Stranglers" is actually an anagram of Tightness Reprimand Smells.
That says it all really
7. I was a big fan as a kid in the 70s and early 80s, but can't really imagine them without High Cornwell up front. I saw him on a local TV channel here in Berlin about 10 years ago and he was playing solo in a restaurant . That struck me as being a bit of a shame, although he didn't seem unduly upset about the fact.
8. ,,,and no, I am not the seller artfully attempting to lure you all in
9. Why don't we at Basschat all club together and buy the thing? It could be some sort of bizarre/sick mascot.
10. The guitar roadie swears it was like that when he opened the case guv'.
11. I didn't find myself missing a hook. I was just overwhelmed by the joy and feedom of expression of it.
12. Great performance from last week on Jimmy Kimmel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkKhN590tN8
13. Looks like it's been left in the sun too long.
14. That's all very well chaps, but the big question is............what does it sound like for metal?
15.
Thanks! Is this actually you, SICbass?
Oh, if only. Sadly no. 😳😊
16.
He reminds me of my bass teacher. I wish we could have seen his face at some point. :-)
17. Congratulations on taking those brave steps. Wishing you good luck and the energy you need with your struggle.
18. Bump for a cool bass and an interesting write up.
19. I saw them supporting David Bowie at the Milton Keynes Bowl in 198..? during his Serious Moonlight Tour. They were ace, as were The Beat.
20.
Live bass for free ? Possibly....seems a /very/ long-winded way of doing it tho, but I guess some might be that devious.
Lets hope I'm wrong. It would make me feel better about people 😀
21.
I had an interesting 'audition' recently...I don't know if this is odd or not, maybe it's not. Saw an ad on Gumtree, got in contact and was asked to record a bass part to a tune the recruiter had on Soundcloud. The outfit (although I suspect it was one person) was a very 'electronica', minimal kind of thing and the tune already had a synth bassline on it. So, I did what I thought was needed - kept it on the back burner during the verse and did something counterpoint-ish on the more up-tempo verse parts. Two days later I get a reply saying I'm not what they're looking for... Far enough, but I can't help feeling I didn't get a decent hearing...certainty not the way I'd run things.
a.) a bit off treatment there I think b.) someone getting live bass recorded for free?
22.
We once auditioned a vocalist who turned up with an acoustic guitar, we asked if he intended playing it, and he replied, "no, I can't play guitar, I just like to have it with me all the time", and just stood it in the corner of the room. Just before we started, he asked if he could go to the reception for some food and drink as he had come straight from work, he came back to the room with two rounds of sandwiches, crisps, chocolate bars, and two cans of drink. He couldn't sing either, so he didn't get the job, but when we went to pay for the room, we found out that he had put his food and drink on the tab, so we had to pay an extra £9.50
Sounds like a win-win deal to me. He gets a free lunch and you get an ace story to tell. I'd say that tale is worth £9.50 of anyone's money 😉
