1. The ad was posted by his wife and it's a precondition of the sale that it comes with the unconscious guy. A novel new way to get a guitarist out of your hair/house/life (delete as applicable).😏
2. I suspect the mold was destroyed BEFORE this was made.
3. Priceless 😊 You couldn't write it, could you?
4.
I really like the look of SBL, and his free videos (on his site and YouTube) seem really helpful. But they all seem to assume some knowledge of scales, chord progressions, arpeggios, etc. Is that something I should know about before I sign up? Or something that SBL helps with? Often I put on a video about something that seems simple, and he drops terminology and names of chord progressions that means nothing to me, which can be a bit disheartening! Don't get me wrong - this is stuff I definitely want to learn. Just don't want to sign up just yet if I won't get the most from it.
I think there's a 30 day money back guaruntee, so if you join up and still don't find material that can join the dots and get you to the theory level to understand the more complex stuff, you can cancel membership and get your money back. Saying that, there is tons of material for all aptitude levels, so I would be surprised if you don't find what you're looking for.
5. Just seen this on here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/267174-alvarez-msb-travel-electro-acoustic-bass/page__pid__2836291#entry2836291 Any use to you?
6.
BAHAHAHHAHA
Sums it up perfectly. I think if we did buy it, it would be a shame to just burn it. We'd get way more mileage out if it if we were to send it around and post videos of our attempts to actually play the damn thing.
7. Welcome to Basschat Dave. I've never even heard of fingerbone. Is that a British builder?
8. Mark King? Wellllllll......
9.
Problem solved then. Isn't freedom of choice wonderful?
+1
10. Here's us all pondering/laughing/postulating about him, maybe he's on BC and we're all unwitting guinea-pigs in some behavioural studies experiment on crowd behaviour ;-)
11. I think it looks kinda cool. Playing-wise though, I'm not a big fan of those Hohners. I had a B2 and it always felt like the 12th fret was too far to the left for me.
12. Surely the closing crescendo on Sgt. Pepper's
13. The original Steely Dan perhaps?
14.
Best opening chord . B flat sus 2 - Prince - Purple Rain , great great intro .
+1 Also, admittedly the second track on the album, but I'm Not In Love by 10cc.
15. Ooh can of worms there. I've done duo gigs in pubs that way. Guitarist singer and me (no drum-machine). If you're both reasonably tight timewise it can work fine. Why is sex without a condom like a drummer? It's nicer without but these days you have to really.
16. Yummedy-yum-yum
17. The idea does have appeal, I just resent giving the cheeky b#gger of a seller the dosh. He clearly doesn't care one way or the other as long as he get's the cash. Having said that, his varied responses to our diverse joke-offers, do seem to indicate a sense of humour there...
18.
I managed about 10 seconds...
I was seven notes in (I counted) before I managed to reach the off button, so maybe 3.5 seconds. Can anyone top that?
19. Yep, very good call and congrats to the OP for having the scariest avatar on BC
20. As long as the action isn't so high that it effects intonation that's not really a problem. Those polyurethane strings are mega low tension.
21. Very nice indeed. New to me. Thanks for posting.
22.

In all fairness, if I were contractually obliged to go out on stage dressed like that, it would take substantially longer than 40 minutes to talk me into it every night.
23. My only buying experiences with Mark (an MM Stingray, a Genz Benz 112 and various cables) were excellent. As for his 'prejudices' regarding some equipment, frankly I'm glad of a salesperson who has opinions and doesn't just tell me that whatever it is I want (i.e. whatever it is he can sell me) is the business. I don't have to agree with him, but discussing it with someone else can help me check my own motivation and see if I'm not barking up a wrong tree. A GAS-filter if you will
24. Inspired by the "Netflix Documentaries" thread on here (but not wanting to hi-jack it), I'd like to recommend this low-budget documentary. Musically it mixes the blues with Tuvan throat-singing. It tells an amazing and moving story of how blind blues singer/guitarist Paul Pena ended up travelling across half the world to take part in a music festival in Tuva (on the northern border of Mongolia). This is proving very hard to describe... here's a youtube link to the film, anyway. https://www.youtube....h?v=s8Lr_27MkzA I hope you enjoy it. The music is so incredible, as is the two men's friendship.
25. Don't buy it. Move on with your life :-)
