2. IF YOU WANT IT NOW, YOU'LL HAVE TO PAY DEALER PRICES 1978 Music man Stingray Bass. Bought in the 'states several years ago, this bass is in pretty good nick for 37 years old. On the body, the lacquer has cracked and crazed, front and back. The finish has flaked off in a couple of places, (see pics) and there are a couple of dings down to the wood. The neck and fingerboard are pretty tidy, the frets have plenty of miles left in them. Electrics and pickup are original. The bridge has lost its mutes, although there are remnants left. Overall, this bass plays and sounds great. It comes with a non original flight case
3. Selling my G&L L5500 5 string Bass. Quite a rare model, less than 500 of these were produced in the '90's, as a stopgap between the L5000 and the as yet unfinished L2500 that we all know today. Features the original and better looking (to my eyes) 4 over 1 headstock design, the body shape is slightly sleeker than the 2500. Pickups are EMG with the EMG active bass/treble concentric tone pot, other controls are master Volume and pickup pan pot. The active circuit runs on a nine volt battery, but I know you can convert it to run on 18 volts for more headroom. The bridge is a chunky affair, featuring side screws that lock all the saddles together, neckplate is a 6 bolt micro tilt arrangement. The neck is rock maple with a rosewood fingerboard. The body is Ash and is finished with one of G&L's "premium" finishes, Honeyburst. The neck dimensions are Stingray (ish), but definitely more meaty. In very good condition for a 20+ year old bass, there is a small chip on the headstock scroll, but thats it. Comes in its original G&L hardcase, which has the logo for LA based band Firebug sprayed on it, as the guy I bought this from, was their bassplayer in the late '90's/early 2000's. Finish is not as dark as the pics make it appear. Any questions, please ask. Buyer is welcome to collect, or I will send by courier, but this will be around £35,00. Cheers.

6. On the subject of refinishes, most early '60's custom colour Fenders had white primer. (Although a few genuine original Strats with gray primer have surfaced). Also, there would be an upainted area in the neck pocket were the body was hung from a tube during painting, this system came in sometime in 1963....Anyhow, a much better refinish than my '71 J, what a mess, painted the control cavity, pots and all! Having been lucky enough to have had 1960 and 1962 P basses for a while, yours looks like a beauty. Best of luck, wish I had the money... Mart.
7. Just bought Andys "as new" Hiscox case. paid the man and it was on my door two days later. Great deal from start to finish. Top job. Cheers, Mart.
8. Bought Micks Octobass. An honest basschatter, no complaints here. Cheers.
9.
wrong pic? :-)

Yes, is that picture actually of yours? Because that's a first series Japanese version (Octaver). If it's a silver label, it's a Taiwanese model without the 'r' (Octave). I'd change the photo so people aren't confused Si
Hi chaps, yes, not my pic, had no time to take pics yesterday.... It was one I found on the net. Thats why I headlined with "More pics to follow". I realised the mistake after. Sorted now, Cheers.
10.
Err... Don't these need a 24v supply? My old one did or I'd still have it. They sound mighty. Best envelope filter ever IMO.
They do, I've been running this off two outputs of a fuel tank jr, sounds great.
11. SOLD Industry standard octave pedal, used to great effect (haha) by the likes of Pino Palladino, etc. You know this pedal, octave one is an octave below the original note, octave two is two octaves below. Octaves one and two are mixable via seperate level controls and the direct signal control pot. This is a silver label pedal from Taiwan, it is fitted with the PSA adaptor socket. The pedal works fine off battery or power supply and is in very good condition. There two squares of velcro on the bottom, as its lived on a pedal board. Postage will be £3.00 for this pedal, sent bubble wrapped and boxed. Thanks for looking.
12. Designed by Mike Beigel, the man behind the legendary Musictronic Mutron III. Used by.... John Martyn Bootsy Collins Flea Daft Punk Stevie Wonder Steve Winwood etc.....The list goes on. From EHX: The improved Electro-Harmonix Q-Tron Envelope Filter provides all the wah sounds of the famous Mu-Tron III heard on countless funk and rock recordings, but with increased frequency response and improved signal-to-noise ratio. The Q-Tron features switchable Up/Down Filter drive; variable filter-peak control; hi/low range control; selectable LP, BP, HP and Mix filters; a variable-gain control and overload indicator; switchable boost, effect, and direct outputs. This one came to me used and with surface scratches, but works just fine. It also came with a broken power supply socket, so I took the opportunity to change the socket to the standard issue, as found on most pedals. There is no power supply with the unit but it happily ran on one that was compatable with Boss and Ebs pedals. In its original wooden box with ehx paperwork. Postage for this will be around a fiver, thanks for looking.
13. Yeah, it looks very similar to the bass he's using on the cover of his chord theory book I bought in the mid 1980's.....Minus the Tremolo bass bridge. And of course: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kr0OO3oEPkE
14. Don't want to hijack your thread, but I've owned both the microtubes and the tightdrive. Microtubes knocks it into a cocked hat....GLWTS.
15. Yeah, bought a set of Fralins in the states. Really didn't rate them at all. I stick with antiquities, except for one jazz which sports a set of jason lollar pickups. Very nice.
16. Don't know when you bought yours, but you can buy swingbass online for £12 delivered at the moment.
17. 1978 pre Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray bass. I picked this bass up the 'states while I was touring over there a good few years ago. Its in pretty good condition overall for 37 years old, especially the neck and fingerboard, which to my eyes is possibly sporting the original frets. The lacquer on the body has cracked and crazed, not everyones thing, but I like it. The finish has flaked off down to the wood in two parts next to the neck joint, (see pics) and there are 3/4 areas on the body were the finish is down to the wood. Two look they are dings, the others look like the finish has maybe flaked off. There are plenty of scratches in the lacquer that have not gone all the way through to the painted finish. The preamp has been changed to the 1982 version, this was in the bass when I bought it. its obvious that the electric have been tackled by a previous owner at some point, as the solder work whilst solid, doesn't look like it came out of a factory....I've replaced the treble pot with a new one bought from ernieball.co.uk. If I can find the old pot, I'll include it in the sale, but it is goosed. Happy to post, or the buyer may collect, thanks for looking.
