1.
I have a firm belief that one needs a good bandleader, someone with talent and creativity, vision and drive, quality control and discipline, with a tangible level of confidence in the songs and the band's performance.
Totally agree with this, the best band I've been in was led by the guitarist who wrote most of the songs but always allowed valid input except on the direction we were taking.

3. 213 for me, not a lot in it sound wise
4. Bought a Squire P-bass off Anth, all went very smoothly and received quickly, great comms etc. Deal with confidence with Anth, a top bloke. Cheers
5. F*ckin awesome man!! well done, cracking job.
6. If they weren't man enough to say it to you face then they have no valid reason to dump you, hence hiding behind the cowardly email, 2 to 1 a mate of theirs joins soon. Like most have said it' will turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Chin up mate, onwards and upwards!
7.
Heheh...so...who got excited and ordered the bridge humbucker without considering whether the jazz PU rout was bigger or not? Slightly annoyed with myself for such a rookie mistake.
I wouldn't worry too much, I made 2 school boys errors on my current build. 1. Wanted a Mighty Mite neck only to find the neck pocket is 2 mm bigger than the MM, I do want a tight fit to stop any neck movement, 2 mm maybe too much. 2. Bought a Gold anodised scratch plate only to find the harness routing is slightly wider than the plate and there's about a 3mm gap for about an inch. Really should have checked before I stripped everything and painted, but hey. Looking with interest at how yours will turn out, Love Orange, is it more of a burnt orange rather than bright Orange? Jazz pick up sizes for neck and bridge are traditionally different sizes, the newer Jazz's are the same size though (at least the MIM ones are, not sure about Squires and USA ones).
8. I looked at this earlier and thought it had been used as a dart board, £80 they're having a laugh.
9.
Well I've been playing with the La Bellas. My P sounds great. Love it. Really glad I made the change. Like the feel of them now too. Feels strange playing my other basses with round wounds. It's given me just the sound I was after. Sounds awesome playing Blues and Country. :-)
Another convert I think once you get past a month or so's use, they seem to bed in and the true sound emerges. I also found that if I go back to a bass with roto sound swings on them, my speed and strength seem to have gotten better, probably due to the extra tension on the la Bella's?
10. from another old git, this is a great site, have fun.
11. reminds me in a way of the late great Richard Wright
12. Hi Jim How was the Nitro mors any good? On a previous re-finish I use a similar product which worked to an extent but very time consuming and messy. I did find covering it is stripper and then sealing in a bag made the stripper more affective, but still a long process with lots of sanding My current build I did using a heat gun which I found that a lot easier, what colour are you going to do it in?
13.
Here is our first wee band video shot for us by a friend. Some nice shots of my status necked Ray!
Nice one, I really liked that, well done.
14. In case his eBay site has nothing there, here's his main site which I ordered from http://www.jlguitars.com/
15. Bit the bullet and ordered from this guy, they took a little while to arrive (3 weeks), but they look good. I haven't installed them yet as I'm still working on the body, but for 43 Euros including delivery I thought it was a good price for a custom hand wound pickup.
16. Yet the bridge, Tuners and control plate are shiny new?
17. Doesn't the Elvis impersonator work at Blackpool pier (MSP)
18.
I'm about to go and put a deposit down on a Coronado reissue. It wont be here for a few weeks - so that'll give me enough time to think up a good story/sell some gear/rob a petrol station/etc.....
Setup a fake bass site which happens to be running a competition to win a Coronado bass! The closing date is the day yours arrives Low and behold you win it - wow !!!!!
19. Great colour, now your problem is what colour pickgaurd will you put on it I'd go for either white, black.
